   The discovery of spirit vines has led to unprecedented advances in the production of energy, however, their raw destructive potential has been known since the fall of the earth empire. following a famine in the earth kingdom, and a subsequent global economic recession, tensions have been rising among the nations of the world. meanwhile, 16 years have passed since Avatar Korra's death, and the new avatar has yet to be found.
   Beginning in 219 AG, this work follows the life of the new Avatar, Míng Xiá, as she learns to grapple with her identity, both as the avatar, and as a trans girl.

   Book 1 will mostly stay in and around Ba Sing Se, exploring the political landscape of the earth kingdom that has arisen as a result of the great famine (178-181 AG), and Míng Xiá's feelings about being the Avatar.
