Summary
Yennefer of Vengerberg, taken from her family as an infant, was raised by the King and Queen of Aedirn as a princess. But when she starts displaying strange powers, markers of her elven blood, she's locked away in a tower, denied love and affection.
She runs away to start a new life as the Witch of the Woods, and quite enjoys her solitary life, devoid of foolish attachments. Meanwhile, across the Continent, whispers and rumors of her power are stirring unrest in Aretuza. To top it all off, a cursed, foolish bard stumbles into her forest and begs her to help him.
