Chapter 1: Letter To The Museum Of Ancient Sinnoh History
Notes:
Hi... Uh... To anyone who knows my stories... no this isn't my PMD x DCMK crossover... I still haven't gotten down to typing it out yet, though I do have the basic outline for the chapter at least... I'm getting off topic.
Yeah, I recently finished playing PLA and wow, there's a lot to unpack. While playing, I was and am still currently doing a rewatch of the DPP series and found some interesting stuff. I usually make thought posts on a different website, but I decided to try it out here and put it in the format of a story via... letters? Reports? Well... you'll get what I mean when I post the 2nd chapter.
If I'm missing any tags, please let me know.
Well... Here's the first part. Part 2 will be posted a little later.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Subject: Reports & Discoveries From Old Documents Of Jubilife Village
To The Museum Of Ancient Sinnoh History & To Who Else It May Concern,
This is a report from the Ancient Sinnoh Restoration Association. We are a dedicated group of individuals working in the historical department of the University of Sinnoh who desire for the secrets of the ancient world to be restored. It has come to our attention that one of our teams have successfully restored the documents of the early days of the settlement of Jubilife City, once known as Jubilife Village. The documents themselves had faded over the centuries, but with time and the help of modern technology, our team has successfully restored and translated a majority of the content. It is now here attached to this letter, in what is the first in a series of reports we will be bringing to your attention. This will show everyone the world of Ancient Sinnoh, formally as Hisui, as seen in the modern day.
Sincerely,
Ancient Sinnoh Restoration Association Members

Report 1: Bewilder Forest
Bewilder Forest, a location that rests in between Sangem Town and Jubilife City. It is home to a number of forest dwelling Pokémon and many a strange sightings. The most famous Pokémon you must Bewear of (pun intended), are the Stantler that make their home here, for they are known for their trickery and powerful illusions that lead people away from the forest or cause them to become lost. It has come to our attention, according to the recently restored lost records of the ancient Hisui’s first Pokédex, the Stantler have dwelled in this area for longer than we have been aware. The maps roughly estimated to be drawn up about 300 and 200 years ago respectively show Bewilder Forest was once known as two specific locations, Deertrack Path and Deertrack Heights.
If you look at the population of Stantler and compare it with the information noted in the Pokédex of Hisui, one can find that their location has hardly changed and their population has increased since this ancient era. Not to mention, based on the maps, the area has experienced a booming growth in its forest when it was once more hilly and the terrain rocky and grassy. Now, it isn’t to say that the cliffs aren’t there, there are still many that one must be aware of while traversing the area. What is interesting to note is a majority of the cartographers and travelers have yet to successfully come across the place noted to be the original camp site of the Survey Corps. This area has eluded many travelers in the forest, even the most prepared have claimed to not be sure they have traversed the location in its entirety.
The Galaxy Team's Survey Corps' campsite that once held ancient glyphs and ruins, as stated in several journals of the Corps members, has not been successfully found. This area was also known as the sanctuary of the now extinct evolution of Stantler, the Wyrdeer. If the Stantler would allow us to explore, we could very well find said location from the ground. From the skies, this whole forest covers just about everywhere in the lush foliage and towering trees, with only very few patches of cleared land to be seen.
Now as mentioned earlier, the forest was once a home to the great ride Nobel Pokémon Wyrdeer. According to the modern society, this Pokémon is now extinct and the Stantler can no longer evolve into this form. Still, that leaves room for wondering, is this particular Pokémon truly extinct. As the Pokédex reveals, this Pokémon has enough energy to, and I quote, "distort space." (Laventon; Entry No. 050) Given the amount of claims that travelers and even researchers get lost in this forest, one can draw several reasonable hypothesis as to why this is so. Perhaps, the Stantler all are aware of the location and use their illusions to guard the once revered site. The other reason, simply speculation upon our group's part, perhaps Wyrdeer may not be entirely extinct. If the ancient legends of old are to go by, perhaps there is only one Wyrdeer at a time now that is a guardian of the forest. The illusions are so great that none can truly map it out or realize they have come to the place of their own accord, and thus, it gives reason to believe that Wyrdeer may still be around but in hiding, much like the many legendaries and mythicals of today.
Again, the thought of the great Noble still being around today are simply the speculations and musings of our team as well as the mystery that shrouds the forest. If any more information is retrieved in the time this report is delivered, it will be added or redacted depending on what will be found out in future explorations and excavations of this and many other sites.

Notes:
I think I had more, but lost my train of thought somewhere along the way of typing this out.
So yep, this thought happened while watching the episode of Bewilder Forest, where Ash | Satoshi and Paul | Shinji get knocked off the cliff by Team Rocket and a gust of wind. The thing Dawn | Hikari said about the forest being famous for its Stantler messing with people by using their illusions caught my attention.
So I looked at the map a bit of the Obsidian Fieldlands and noticed that it was kind of similar. So that ended up leading me onto this ride that, this Ancient Hisui we visit in Legends may be the Anime Sinnoh version. I do have a few things to point out, and again, I will say, if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. It's in story format anyway, so nothing is official here.
Well... that's all for now. There isn't much proof to back up the whole thing, still... I wanted to share it. The next part will be up some other day... not sure when. So, Thank-Q again for reading!

Report 2: The Thousand Year Old Tree
For those who are on the road to Oreburgh City, whether to check the amazing fossils of the prehistoric era, dig around in the underground to mine coal or find treasure, or even to go and challenge the gym, there are several areas surrounding the place that were once known by all of those in ancient Hisui. In the recovered writings of the Diamond and Pearl clans and the journals of the Survey Corps, we have found another place that bears a striking resemblance to the home of another mighty Noble. Located on the opposite end of the mountain called the Oreburgh path, is an area known today as The Thousand Year Tree. Inserted at the bottom of the document are files containing actual footage of the tree, of course this was taken without disturbing the Pokémon who currently inhabit the place.
This area long ago was called the Grand Tree Arena and was a favored spot by the mighty noble known as Kleavor, the now extinct evolution of the Scyther line. The mighty Axe Pokémon Kleavor was once responsible as the protector of the tree, and it seems fitting that those who inhabit the tree in modern day are also, interestingly enough, seen as its protectors now. The Seedot, Nuzleaf, and Shiftry all live and protect what is now known as the Thousand Year Tree, which fits in line with one of the entries in the Hoenn Pokédex that it, and I quote, “…is said to live atop towering trees dating back over a thousand years.” (Birch; Entry No. 024) Though oddly, the Shiftry line is not present in the old Pokédexs of Hisui and that of the revisions decades later. The only explanation is that the Pokémon were attracted to this tree after being introduced to the region, perhaps by instinct, since the tree is known as being a thousand years old.
Now, comparing the writings to the actual images of the tree, one can find a noticeable lacking feature. The “Grand Tree Arena” lacks the arena, so it may be more fitting to call it the Grand Tree. There are several reasons that could explain why this area is missing, the main being the tampering of both human and Pokémon over the years allowing the land to be destroyed and replanted, eventually giving us the view of the flat land we now see. Kleavor was known as the Axe Pokémon, so its help in deforesting the area may have played a part in the changing of the landscape. The other reason could simply be the natural passing of time over the centuries and the tree itself growing thicker bark and its roots rising to the surface from the ground, so possibly the Arena is now underneath the now exposed roots and the bark grew as thick as the size of the arena.
Although the tree shares many of the traits as the one described in the writing, as well as being the same species of tree, further investigation needs to be done into the matter. Unfortunately, we do not have the tools or permission to investigate the area. It is within the protection of the old Safari Zone, which later became the Pal Park, and was renamed again to Ramanas Park. Once proper procedure is preformed and the required papers are in order for full excavation, a team will be sent out to investigate the tree and the surrounding area for any evidence that confirms this was once the dwelling of the Noble Kleavor.
As for the speculation towards whether the Kleavor line could be around, just as we guessed that Wyrdeer could exist in Bewilder Forest, there is little evidence supporting that Kleavor could make a comeback. According to the Pokédex of Ancient Hisui, the Scyther must have a material known as Black Augurite. At the moment, some labs have claimed they were able to recreate the crystalline material. But when used on the Scyther line in various experimental methods, none have claimed a successful evolution. So it could be hypothesized that the synthetic materials will not bring Kleavor back, the mineral must occur naturally, which unfortunately does not in modern day Sinnoh. As with the previous report, should any new information be made known, an updated report shall be delivered.

Notes:
Well, how were the gifs? Did they work? Sorry about the quality, I would like to have done a video instead, but I'm not sure how to add one in.
This area got my attention from the first minute of rewatching DPP. I thought to myself, that area looks familiar, and then, comparing with the Tree Arena in the game, it felt similar. They're not exactly the same, but similar enough and it was roughly in a good location to be a potential spot for Kleavor's Tree. Again, if it's wrong, then it's wrong. Everything here can still be considered a story anyway, though... to me, it feels like the game team did their own rewatch of the DPP anime and took inspiration from some elements they liked and modified it to fit the game.
That's all I got for now. If I see more similarities as I'm doing my rewatch, I'll definitely share another chapter. If not, then this may be the last chapter ever. So, Thank-Q again for reading! To those who gave a kudos, subscribed, bookmarked, or even just checked this story out, Thank-Q!

Subject: Anomalies Of Unova & Relation To Ancient Sinnoh
To Ancient Sinnoh Restoration Association Members & To Those This May Concern,
From your fellow colleagues from the region of Unova, we are writing to bring to your attention a number of findings that may possibly be related to your current project. Though, before discussing them, please understand that these findings are quite unusual from our perspective. Enclosed are several of our findings from a dig site here in Unova as well as a report from one of our members doing a double major for science and history. Because of this student’s perspective into this matter, we have begun to investigate the connections from our region and yours. Please keep in mind this is just an update report and some of the information is theoretical at best.
We apologize for not getting these findings to your department sooner.
Sincerely,
Members Of The Science & Historical Departments of The Unova University

Chapter 5: Unova Report: The Time Gate
Chapter Text

Unova Report: The Time Gate
Unova, a region rich with history and filled with amazing wonders. From the natives that have dwelled in this land for far longer than any remember to the immigrants who came here hoping to build a new life, it’s a land of opportunity and a melting pot of many cultures. No matter where they are from, no matter the culture they bring, both people and Pokémon call this region, home. But with all the cultural fusions concentrated in this place, one can’t help but wonder if the past is truly valued. Fortunately, amidst the changing of the times, Unova values its rich history and honors what made it was it is today and how it all began. You can find this evident in the eager citizens who work hard to make history come alive. Whether it’s through historical re-enactments, museum and historical landmark tours, classes dedicated to teaching Unovian history, and one of our very own gym leaders, Lenora of Nacrene Gym, dedicating her time to the studies of archeology of Unova, the region is teeming with evidence on how much their history is valued.
As much as there is evidence dedicated to remembering and learning from our past, there are still so many mysteries that have yet to be uncovered. One such mystery comes from the mysterious artifacts and relics that have been discovered in random locations in and around Unova. In an archeologist view, every finding could be argued as strange and unusual, but in this case, these artifacts do not and should not be from our region. According to the reports from from a dig site just outside of Nimbasa City, items such as strange stone slabs with the ancient Unown lettering were found. These slabs were identified to be originally from either the Johto or Sinnoh region, but the use of language is distinctive enough to be identified with those of ancient Sinnoh. There have also been other odd findings reported such as fabric and tools that hold insignias of what seems to be the Diamond and Pearl clans of ancient Sinnoh, most likely hailing from it’s Hisuian era.
Why would these items even be here in the region? For a long time, the answer was unknown. But in recent months, with the help of a group of scientists who had come here from the Kanto region, the answer was soon revealed. Originally, these scientist came to the region to study the properties of Chargestone Cave and attempt to replicate its power and create a new source of energy. But their equipment had picked up some strange energy readings. At first, they were dismissed as blips of error, but the more this was happening the more the efforts were redirected into studying the strange anomaly. It was revealed to be a completely different source. With the help and consultation of Johto’s scientists, it was identified as space time energy. They claimed that these particles were very similar to those left by the mythical Pokémon Celebi, who happens to leave these behind when opening portals to come to and fro through time. The particles were sparse, but their presence was there. When this scientist came to inspect the dig site with their equipment where the Hisuian artifacts were found, the space time energy was also present there as well.
Since then, the Johto and Kanto scientist teams have been working together with our university to uncover the reason for the presence of the particles. It should be noted that these Johto scientists specialize in studying Celebi. There were many similarities between the traces left behind by Celebi’s traveling and the ones found at the site and the cave. But upon further study, they were revealed to not be the same, each had their own unique signature.
Currently, several scientist have been using this new technology across Unova in order to find any other traces of this anomaly. As it stands, the teams have been investigating a few leads, one area coming from deep in one the mountain forests. In that forest, it is said that a thick, heavy fog roles in and people experience seeing a completely new season or experience more time than has passed. One photographer who visited the area had a picture of all the seasonal Sawsbuck, which would not be possible if not for an alteration in time and space. It has been concluded that there are particles of space and time energy in the area, but as at the dig site they so few and far between. Further investigation is needed here.
Another lead our team had received came from a place called Twist Mountain. The locals talked of a man who was searching for fossils in this place where there was little evidence of any appearing. When interviewed, the man spoke of a time when he had visited the prehistoric land of the now fossilized Pokémon. His friend claims it was a daydream, but he claims it as real, so he continues to dig for fossils to prove the existence of the prehistoric Pokémon that once dwelled there. In the research that was conducted there, it was found that the particles were present. The difference from the other areas was that this one was small and concentrated into one spot underneath the mountain. For now, the energy readings are quite low, but it does give evidence that this man had experienced going to the past in his youth.
Unlike the mythical Pokémon Celebi who can open up a portal to the past anywhere, this concentration of temporal energy is stationary. So instead of a portal, it will be dubbed as a time gate, for it stays in one place and allows passage from a specific location. This area will be monitored and recorded on a monthly bases to determine if the energy readings will remain low or if there is a chance it will grow and open again.
Now, what does this time gate have to do with the dig site just outside of Nimbasa City? The particles appear to be an identical match by 99% with a marginal error of 1%, more or less due to the way it is concentrated rather than separated. Though, there is a difference between the gate and the finding of the artifacts. The former gate under Twist Mountain seemed to transport the man back to the prehistoric era of Unova, while the artifacts came from a region much further away in both time and space. We must consider this is only one account, there is a possibility there were once other gates that led to other eras and regions outside of Unova’s own. As of today though, we have confirmed other traces of the temporal energy in several other locations, most concentrated in and surrounding Nimbasa city’s underground, especially in the old tunnels of the subways. There is no evidence of a gate though, the particles are sparse like the ones at the dig site. A gate opening in the tunnels is far less likely than the gate at Twist Mountain. Still, this is only speculation at this point, our teams will keep checking these areas every season.
This does make one to wonder, how are there any presence of these gates? As it stands, Unova itself has no Pokémon that have time travel capabilities, although there is a small possibility with our Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, who can open up portals in space with its rings, but nothing is proven yet. Perhaps the responsibility falls on Sinnoh’s Pokémon of legend? Did the legendary Pokémon of Time, Dialga, and the legendary Pokémon of Space, Palkia, have anything to do with this? If so, those who are studying in Sinnoh may need to be notified of such, and not just for their artifacts being found on foreign soil. It is a wonder why we have not been able to work together with them when these artifacts clearly hail from their land. Hopefully, this will be resolved and our regions can work together to further study these strange anomalies in space and time within Unova.

Notes:
Back when I watched BW, I thought some of these parts could fit. So I took those elements and tried writing around them. I originally wanted to include the Scientists at Team Rocket, and Doctor Zager being the lead scientist into studying things in Unova, but in the end I left it out. It probably wouldn't have fit in with the timeline of Ash's & Team Rocket's Unova Adventure anyway. So for now, let's just say that Team Rocket stole the info on Chargestone Cave and Twist Mountain from the scientists around the time Ash decides to challenge the Unova League.
In the dub, the events at Twist Mountain officially called it a Time Gate, so I kept the name for it.
The whole time writing this, I was thinking of PMD. I won't say more since it would spoil the plot for those who haven't played the game yet or watched a walkthrough/let's play.In the series itself, there aren't any dig sites around Nimbasa, or there could be... It's been awhile since I've seen the episodes...This is all I have for now, still slowly rewatching DPP. If I find any new similarities between PLA & DPP Anime, I'll update the chapter. If not, this may be the last one.
