"Dude... what has you so skittish?" Nino asked, watching as Adrien literally jumped from his seat at the slightest sound. It was strange seeing the typically relaxed Adrien wound up so tightly.
"Oh... um... nothing?" Adrien cringed, glancing at the door. "Just waiting on Marinette to show up."
"Oh?" His friend raised a brow, smirking knowingly at his best friend. His tone shifted slightly. "Why is that?"
"Oh... um... To give her this coffee?" He responded, holding up a cup of coffee, steam drifting from the hole on the top of the lid.
"Coffee?"
"Yeah. I just thought that... maybe she'd like some this morning."
Nino stared at Adrien in confusion. "Riiiiiight." He drawled out, not quite believing the blonde boy.
Earlier that morning, Chat Noir had taken a run around the rooftops of Paris. Tired from the late night Akuma that had not only kept him up but made it impossible for him to go back to sleep, he'd grabbed himself a coffee for the extra boost.
It hadn't been long before he'd seen Marinette's light on in her room, and Chat decided to friendly 'hello' from his favorite Princess would be just what he needed. But the monster that lurked in her room was anything but sweet. The trap door opened to a snarling creature that literally attacked him.
"COFFEEEEEE!!!" It had cried out as it latched onto his back and clawed at his arms.
Needless to say, the coffee did not survive the struggle. They had both been completely drenched in warm, black coffee. It had been enough to wake Marinette from her sleep-deprived coffee fixation.
"Kitty...?" Marinette had asked, confused. She squeaked loudly when she realized the coffee was soaking in (and staining) her cute pink pajamas.
Chat Noir had blushed. "Maybe... you should change and get ready for school?" He'd suggested before bounding off to calm his nerves. He'd fought many Akuma, but none scared him as much as the thing Marinette became when she saw coffee. Feral. Terrifying.
Now. Coffee in hand. Sitting at his desk. Adrien waited for that beast to arrive. He had one goal -- give Marinette her coffee so she never attacks him again.
