Work Text:
Tomura Shigaraki, the symbol of fear, leader of the Paranormal Liberation Army, the most dangerous and powerful man on Japan, as the villains won the war, he is currently pretty much the ruler of the country, the rest about him is a mystery, he stays most of the time inside of his fort, under the security of his Army, little is known about him, rather than his famous cruelty, his cold heart and his calculating mild.
Meanwhile, life haven't been kind to Izuku Midoriya, quirkless, without a job, had recently turned 18, quitted School and gave up from pretty much everything, and with the recent death of his mother and complete withdrawal of his father, he sees himself forced to find a job, quickly. All the food in his house was gone, and the apartment would soon be taken due to unpaid rent, so he really needed a job, anything, no matter what it was, so he started to research, and soon he finds out that the Great Commander is looking for.....A maid? The requirements are a bit weird, but at least gender isn't one, but one of the requirements was for someone gentle and caring, what fits perfectly for the green boy! Izuku tried looking for other options, but soon he realized there was not much more, after all the whole country was in a crisis and it was pretty hard to get something decent to work as after the takeover of the Villains.
When he finally gets there he is received by the Army, sour, threatening and mocking faces looking down at the young boy, the job seemed to be pretty disputed, as expected, but soon many gave up, as quickly as they met "your Highness", the man was tall, his strength was world wide known, his eyes where full of hatred and power, his posture, his clothes, his over all aura, everything screamed "stay away, or you're the next to die", and so many did, but Izuku stayed, maybe because he was curious, maybe because he saw something on the older man, or maybe he just couldn't afford to care, he had long gave up anyway.
After some interviews Izuku was the chosen one, clearly as he was the only one who didn't flinch, and the only one to have a sweet smile or the Ruler, even though the questions sounded...A bit weird.
Izuku would from now on live in the PLA fort, and that also meant to live with Tomura himself, and already in the first day of work Midoriya realized why the questions and requirements sounded so off, the brand new Emperor of Japan wasn't looking for a maid, but for a Caretaker, and Izuku haven't realized until now what that actually meant, ultil he saw himself on the Great Commander's bedroom, receiving the oddest order possible:
Tomura Shigaraki, the one who single handedly destroyed all Heroes, murdered families and destroyed cities, the man who survived literal nukes and put God to shame, the man who was feared all over the globe, whom made people avoid travelling to Japan at all, and caused an overall economic crisis as he, himself, destroyed society as a whole. This man, this hell of a fan, was in Minecraft pajamas, literally asking Izuku to cradle him.
It happens that the Great Commander seems to age regress at his free time, and the League didn't really knew how to handle it, it wasn't a fetish neither a sexual thing, Tomura genuinely seemed to be so stressed that his mind simply begged for a break. So they decided to employ a caretaker, someone who'd take care of him while in such a fragile state, someone to nurse him, to cuddle him, to give him attention, someone who maybe would even have to bath the grown man sometimes, but besides it, most things where just purely wholesome, and weirdly soft, coming from the Angel of Death himself-
Izuku couldn't refuse, he was already there and maybe it wouldn't be so bad, and so he did, he spent the rest of the night petting Tomuras hair as the Emperor babbled out stuff about his favorite things while playing Animal Crossing in his Nintendo switch and drinking Cocoa Milk in a sippy cup, he did indeed look as innocent as a child, and so Izuku started to adapt to it.
Everyday at night, after Shigaraki had finished his duties as the most powerful man in Japan, he'd gradually regress to the mind of a 5 yo, and spend his nights cuddled up into his fluffy bed, hugging random video game themed plushies while playing video games, and Izuku's job was to make sure he wouldn't get hurt, because yes, he could get hurt.
Shigaraki's quirk couldn't be controlled, neither his rage when a game didn't work to his favor, and there's nothing more dangerou than a bratty angered child, to himself and to everyone around
It was all very contrasting, to see the scariest and powerful being in a such cute and fragile position, to see his virile tall form full of muscles against the stretched silky fabric of little minecraft axes in pastel colors, to see that man with cold red eyes with such a glowing adorable smile, or to see his long white hair falling over the black screen of his game device, and all though it all was pretty weird for Izuku, he started to find himself pretty attached to it.
Maybe it was the hours Izuku spend brushing Tomura's hair, or cleaning the mess when he spilled his cocoa milk, maybe it was to hug him when he started crying due to flashbacks, maybe it was all the time comforting him while he talked about a certain dog named Mon, maybe it was the times Izuku bathed Shigaraki that at first felt odd, but seeing the man just playing with rubber ducks and wanted to have his hair washed and scrubbed by someone melted all the oddness away
Sometimes Shigaraki would call himself as Tenko, what for a while was pretty confusing, but slowly, Izuku started to realize the reason behind all of it, one day Shigaraki told him everything, from his childish point of view with tear in the eyes, and so Izuku got even more affective towards him.
Izuku would spend most of the time inside the general quarters, as the weeks went by he completely forgot that this man he held in his arms was a mass murderer and pretty much a dictator, sometimes Izuku would greet Tomura when he'd arrive, before regressing, and it was always shocking, he really did forget.
Tomura most of the time was a very clever man, he was patient when he wanted, but also very destructive, he could also be a threatening figure, sometimes he seemed to mock the world around him, with a smug smirk and a confident look, he was very mature, he was a good leader, until night would come and with it, all the anxiety, memories and fear he'd hide during day, after many times arriving the PLA base soaked in blood and full of wounds, all his fellow comrades in worse state, some even didn't return, all the marks of the war and the destruction around him, this heavy and cruel aura all around him until he'd reach his bedroom and melt over Izuku's arms
Izuku didn't really knew what to do, after a month working as his caretaker, he noticed that Tomura needed more, he was clearly emotionally traumatized and all the battles that seemed to never end was making it all worse, he didn't know why he was feeling so attached to this man that was technically his boss, or why he cared at all, but he couldn't not care, specially after listening to Shigaraki's stories, Izuku couldn't hate him, even if he was the reason the whole country was a mess, he was genuinely a lost child needing saving, and that part of Izuku that still worship heroes was screaming to save the man
So one day, Izuku had a great idea, he talked to the lieutenants, the former League of Villains and Tomura's closest thing to a family, and they agreed to help, well, Dabi mocked the idea while the others agreed, but in the end he helped as well.
After a long day of tyranny and brute fights, Shigaraki reached his quarters exhausted, hyperventilating and anxious like always, at this moments Izuku would normally come comfort him and calm him down enough for him to take a bath and get rid of all the blood, but that day Izuku was no where to be seen, so Shiga had to get himself to calm down as much as he could, just like he used to do before Izuku, that would normally involve scratching his neck raw and decay an thing or two, but this time Shigaraki was expecting to be received, and the disappointment was making it all worse, his mind half regressed already wanting to burst in tears thinking he was abandoned by Izuku
- I'm sorry! I got late, but I'm here now!
Izuku said as he rushed to hug the man that was now decaying the door and looking around in confusion, seeking the younger's comfort. He demanded a explanation, while part of him was just glad to see him and already melting in his arms.
Midoriya said some random excuses, and then leaded Shigaraki to his bath routine, which was pretty silent and awkward, as now fully regressed Tenko was being bratty towards Izuku, as he held the tears back trying to not admit he was scared he was going to leave. After the bath Izuku toke Tenko to the bed, where he jumped in with his favorite pajamas, already ready for some "apology cuddles", but Izuku instead left the room, Tenko, confused, was about to throw a tantrum, until Izuku came back with......A corgi!
Tenko stared, in disbelief, as a huge smile came across his face, and he ran towards the little dog
-Mon!!!
It was all he could say, Tenko didn't even want to finish his new Minecraft village now, he wanted to play with mon the rest of the night!
The following days really showed some improvement, now Shigaraki had a emotional comfort dog for all moments, slowly thought the months he got less anxious, and talking to Izuku really was helping, as after a while he started to embrace his old identity more, the whole PLA that didn't know about his past was pretty shocked to see the Great Commander walking around with a dog, smiling, being all soft and nice to everyone, slowly healing.
In the end of a year Shigaraki was another man, Izuku got him to do therapy, Shigaraki was way healthier now, he didn't want to destroy everything anymore, and while the Army was confused, they started to accept it, everyone got soft at seeing their leader so happy, the former league mainly
And with time, Shigaraki's identity started to get stable, he stopped to regress, and after a while with therapy he realized all the bad AFO did to him, so he started to go by the name of Shimura Tenko at all times, he also stopped hating heroes so much, all dough still see society as flawed, in the end, he was still the Emperor of Japan, but not as cruel anymore, yes he'd still disintegrate the heroes he didn't like, he didn't become fully good, but he was saved, he was happy by the side of the league and Izuku, who he started to develop romantic feelings to him, so, with his found family and a now stable mind he worked to re-create society, one as great and cool as the society in his Animal Crossing village, even if most people disliked the way he was ruling the country, it didn't matter, he was finally happy.
