Chapter Text
Sumeru is quite the sight, being composed of both deserts and a magnificent jungle, and the renowned Academia. Because of the striking differences between the jungle and deserts, it’s creates many attractions people from all nations come to see. The lesser-known beauties come from the sun; with an array of warm pinks, yellows, oranges and deep blues, purples, and even a spark of white if you look close enough, though majority would advise against looking that intensely at the sun.
In the academia, a certain teacher rests hunched over his desk, completing assignment notes for his students to self study with as he will be taking a short vacation to the Dawson Forest to visit a special group of people. As he makes his last stroke one the paper, the teacher sets the piece on top of a stack of papers, with a note reading “self study with the materials provided while absent”. The teacher grasps his cloak which has bunny-like ears at the top of them, mimicking an Anubis.
While this all takes place, a certain ranger in training is honing her prowess with a bow.
“Quite that spectacle of arrows you have there, Collei.”
A man says a little of to the side from behind Collei, who seemingly popped up from nowhere; which caused Collei to flinch.
“Range master Tighnari, it quite early, shouldn’t you still be sleeping?”
Collei asked as tighnari made himself fully visible, which showed off his brilliant green and brown eyes, along with his stiff fox-like ears and tail. The morning sun hitting his hair creating an array of dark greens and teals along with a few stripes of green radiating from his bangs.
“I was tending to the greenhouse, I should be asking why your practicing so early in the morning considering how dark it still is.” Tighnari said with a slight chuckle.
“Don’t worry about it though, in fact I have a letter to give you. It came from the Academy.” Tighnari stated as he handed Collei a coffee-colored letter with a gold-colored wax seal that had an Anubis shape stamped into it. Collei instantly knew who it was from and roughly opened it, eager to see what the letter contained.
The letter read:
Dear Collei,
I’m happy to inform you that I will be visiting the forest for a week, and by the time this letter reaches you I will have been well on my way to the forest and will see you shortly after you finish reading this letter. I’m deeply sorry for not staying in touch with you these past months. I hope your training to become a ranger has been exciting and full of new opportunities for you. Please send my regards to your seniors for taking care of you while in the forest.
P.S: Amber sent me a letter wishing you well a week or so ago, I just didn’t have time to properly send the letter to you personally.
From, Cyno.
As Collei read it her eyes lit up in excitement after finishing the letter. Once she looked up she realized that Tighnari had disappeared. She figured that he had left to attend to duties that called for his attention.
While Collei was reading her letter, tighnari walked away, heading back to the ranger headquarters to finish his assessment of the green house to determine if any changes needed to be made to keep the plants healthy. As he sat down at his table he realized he to, had a similar letter on top of his desk. He must of left it there when he had delivered all of the letters to the rangers. He flipped the letter to see who it was for, and was a little surprised when the lettering in fancy handwriting read ‘For: Tighnari’. Now very interested in the letter he read it as fast as he could, the letter read:
Dear Tighnari
I am currently heading to the rainforest as you read this. Lately a lot has happened and I’ve
Been needing someone who I could talk to without feeling the need to contain some form of formality given my position as a teacher of the academy. I’ve missed you so much and can’t wait to hold you in my arms in a short time. You have no idea how much I’ve craved to be with you again, to hold you again, to have you again and to kiss you again. I’m sorry how short notice this is but I hope you can forgive me seeing how long it’s been. I hope you’ve been doing well.
From, Cyno
A light blush found it’s way onto tighnari’s cheeks as his tail also subconsciously started wagging in response to the heartfelt letter and idea of being with his lover again. Tighnari abruptly got up and went to clean up the mess of his personal office and sleeping quarters, completely forgetting about his original objective to write about his assessment of the green house.
