Chapter Text
Jimmy is looking out the window into the night sky.
He always liked to see the Moon's soft light casting over the Lilith Coast. He would always come to this spot to gaze at the Moon whenever he was not constantly trying to improve himself beyond the limitations that the curse put upon him.
He always felt the need to prove himself to his parents, sister, friends and citizens and he hated that feeling. He didn't like feeling that way; he just wished people would notice that he was trying instead of thinking he couldn't do anything important. He just wanted to be appreciated and recognized.
Just a few hours ago he faced yet another person telling him he was weak, but this time, it was one of his friends.
"There have been some rumours lately. The rumours say that most of the other empires think that I'm too weak because of my curse to rule the Lilith Coast," said Jimmy when he and Sausage hung out together(they are friends in this fic because of the centuries-old alliance between the two empires).
"Is that true? Do you think that I'm that weak and incompetent?" he asked.
Jimmy was genuinely curious about what other future rulers and heirs thought about him ascending the throne of the Lilith Coast in the future. He knew that some labelled him as inconsequential and amateurish, but he wanted to know how his friends perceived him.
"No, no, no. You're a powerful person with great determination and willpower. I think one of the strongest and richest in spirit."
Jimmy felt hopeful at that. So, they do know that he has been making an effort, and some people believe in him.
"In spirit?" he asked in disbelief, resembling a kid in a competition who just found out they won.
"Yeah..." he drew out the 'eah' sound, and a tiny, sheepish grin could be seen on his face. "But you weak as heck, Jimmy."
Sausage's cold dismissal of his struggles felt like a slap in the face. He had always thought of Sausage as a friend, maybe not someone who understood him, but someone who would be there for him. But now, he felt completely alone. The hurt and disappointment radiated through him like poison, leaving him feeling vulnerable and hurt. He wondered why he had even dared to hope that things would be different this time.
Maybe it was because he thought Sausage was his friend...
Right now, however, he chose to focus on the majestic beauty of the Moon rather than reflecting on how he was underestimated, overlooked and insulted for his past.
He never lost hope that he would one day get rid of this curse that prevents him from seeing his capabilities and is the reason why everyone looks at him with disgust written on their faces.
He leaned back and let his eyes follow the Moon's path through the sky.
The Moon was at the highest peak of the sky and gave him the sight of the satellite.
Jimmy grinned as he looked at the Moon.
"You're so beautiful. I wish I could experience what you see up there."
He then continued to observe the satellite for a moment and before he could get another view, a creature appeared in front of him.
"W-What? Who are you? Why are you here?"
Jimmy asked cautiously as he looked up at the creature.
He could not see its face as it was looking down at the ground and all that he could tell about the creature was that it was large, covered in red and black and didn't look much like a human or a part hybrid at all.
He could not tell its gender yet.
Jimmy was thinking about the creature's question for a moment.
The creature did not have a single trace of fear on its face. It looked at Jimmy for a second before vanishing entirely.
There was a slight rise in temperature and the trees began to get slightly denser as if the whole area was electrified.
Then it hit Jimmy.
He suddenly realized that he might have a small clue as to what the creature might be. And how it was related to all the corruption that was spreading like wildfire throughout the empires.
The creature he saw disappeared and returned in front of him again. This time, its face was facing him and it had a deep red grin.
"Hi, Jimmy or should I say Lila's champion? Long time no see."
It said as if it knew what Jimmy was thinking.
As if it knew that he would get a flashback to Lila and Juan.
As if it knew what Jimmy was thinking about them and the curse.
