Awkward Terms

Summary:

Newbies do mess up terms, and Nanako is definitely new to gaming as Akane well knows.

Notes:

Disclaimer - I don't own And you thought there is never a girl online?. This was written for the Froday little special for August, where we were given five words and expected to use each word in a sentence, for which each of the words used is in bold. This one - this one was inspired by me looking at the fandom wiki for the show and seeing the term "official RTM" on the terminology page. I don't remember if that was what was actually used in the show, but as a gamer, that's not the terminology, we use.

Work Text:

“So I should avoid RMT as they’re against the TOS, but keep an eye out for official RMT like Segawa-sempai uses because they’re not against the TOS,” Nanako said.

Akane wondered if explaining things to Nanako would be in  vain , yet started by saying, “We don’t call those transactions official RMT as that would cause too much confusion regarding what is allowed and not allowed via the TOS.”

“If it’s not called official RMT,” Nanako said as she made her character  release  her pet in-game, “then what is it called?”

Not explaining it would cause a  bind  for their guild, Akane replied, “They’re called in-game transactions or in-game micro-transactions.”

“Oh, okay,” her best friend said, though this didn’t relieve the  tense  situation.
