Chapter Text

Blitz was bored.

Extremely bored.

Business was consistent, the kills were hardly a challenge anymore. They barely took up any time that by Thursday, IMP had completely cleared the client list. So here he was on Friday hanging around Stolas’s manor.

The demon prince was currently in a meeting with his soon to be ex-wife, arguing about custody over their daughter. Stolas had vented how complicated it was due to Octavia already being 18 in hell years. Plus Stella wanting to spite him and request for full custody, knowing full well the last time she actually went out with her daughter was when she was a kid.

Not counting the times, she pesters her about dressing like a real Goetia. When they would go out, or be invited to events with other royal family members. So the meeting was doomed to go on for far too long, even for the divorce lawyer.

Blitz would have gone to hang out with Octavia, but she seemed to be in. Loona kind of mood. Between mad and annoyed, to where she didn’t want to be around anyone. She was most likely listening to music too hard core for Blitz, reading tragic stories or horror, or even practicing magic with her dad's notes he’d given her. All seemed pretty therapeutic to Blitz’s standards, he’d hate to ruin any of that for her. They had actually been getting along better than the imp had expected, he guesses she got her open mindedness and empathy from her dad, rather than mom.

So Blitz was left to his own devices in the owl demons quarters. He had begun watching the Prince’s Hell-a-Novela’s, but the acting and extreme romance deterred him. So he went looking at the small study Stolas had in his room, he was sure he had a book on horses or pirates somewhere. He has a book on everything.

Looking through he found books on dragons, plants, the downfall of human society, mermaids, but one caught his attention.

'Possessive Manipulation of The Alternative Self.'

It was definitely a spell book, but it looked older than the others on the shelves. It also lacked any pictures, which the imp frowned upon. But the explanation of the text above kept his attention.

‘Transferring power and consciousness to your alternative psyche, unlike predicting the future. The individual will project their consciousness into an alternate version of themselves. Possessing the body at their will, they may puppeteer this unholy doppelganger and pursue their enemies from afar. The possession is not a permanent link between the realities, the possession may only be plausible through the use of runes and the complete relinquishment of the user's mind.’

What the fuck.

Does Satan know about this?

The rest of the text went on for pages going on about the requirements for the spell, and seemingly detailed instructions. What the hell would the royal families need with this?

Scratch that.

If there’s something magical out there in the 7 rings of hell, the Goetia family fuckers didn’t have. They would most definitely want it, and it’s seemed to get passed down. Into Stolas’s study, most likely given to him by his father Paimon.

“Blitz? I thought you would’ve left by now.” The Prince’s voice surprised Blitz, jumping a little with the book still in hand. Hearing the other walk around the room, discarding his hat and cape. “The appointment went on for quite a long time, longer than intended.”

“Nah. My schedule is kinda free, and your place is way more interesting to be at than mine. Plus it's less depressing.”

Stolas cocks a brow at him at that last statement. Sitting down on his large royal purple couch, tiredly.

“Well maybe not less depressing, but still more fun than my tiny apartment. Loona is out with hell hounds she’s met anyway, and I’m banned from watching over her when she’s with them soooo here I am.”

“Fun.” The demon owl sarcastically says, watching the imp walk closer to take a seat next to him. “What’s that you’re reading?”

Blitz looked down in front of himself, seeing his hands gripping the old beaten book. “Oh-! Well, I- I was just reading while waiting for you and this just seemed kinda cool.”

“Entertaining?” Stolas laughs, reaching forward to grab the work. “What has you all bashful- oh…well this is quite entertaining .”

“Yeah I was just skimming through shit, and that just sounded kinda fun.”

“Fun?”

“Yeah, fun, exciting, like a good time. I don’t know any other fancy big words for ‘fun’ .”

“Amusement, darling.”

“All you do is read, of fucking course you know more words than me.”

“Well besides that. Blitz, did you really want to…possess an alternate version of yourself out there somewhere?” Stolas asked, one matter of fact, not trying to judge or deter Blitz from being honest.

“Well I can’t. I don’t have the magic genes, but you could.” Blitz raises his brows looking up at Stolas like a curious kid.

“Blitz, I don’t mind if you want to do this. It’s actually quite enjoyable seeing you take interest in magic. Maybe you’ll even take interest in the stars-.” Stolas catches himself from rambling, shaking his head. “-but, if you do want to do this. I will be going through the instructions and rules with you. There is no real harm to you, with this kind of sorcery. But what you decide to do with your other self…”

“Cmon, I’m not going to try and hurt my other self. I just want to see what it’s like, what if my pops actually had a successful circus? What if IMP was actually a hit group for other demons- oh! What if I’m famous? What if I have a horse?!” Blitz exclaims giddy like a kid again, at the idea of seeing his alternate futures he could’ve had.

Stolas only laughs at him, seeing the light in his eyes. Calming him down, he gets up with the book. “Very well, but first we go through the rules.”

Blitz only groans, sinking back into the couch. Listening to Stolas' lecture on the do’s and don'ts. This is a very serious spell, an opportunity that not many get. Lives could be ruined in linking your consciousness to another mind blah blah blah . Eventually Stolas stopped walking  around and closed the book, looking at Blitz.

“Ready?”

“You bet your ass.”

“I know you weren’t listening.”

“I was!”

“Blitzyyy…”

“Ugh, I zoned out.”

“Thank you for your honesty.” Stolas verbalized, before lifting his hand a blue aura glowing from it. Watching as various candles were pulled from about the room, stones, discolored chalk, and the book was casted aside just to levitate; a purple blue projecting coming from it.

“This is dramatic.” Blitz speaks up, watching Stolas who suddenly looks very enchanting. Controlling everything with the movement of his hands, concentrating on the placement of everything. The candles formed a circle around him, different crystals put in specific patterns, the dark chalk tracing along the floor. Forming shapes and words the imp had never seen before.

“It’s a very old conjuring, but powerful nonetheless.” The room lights dim, leaving the candles blue atmosphere to contrast the runes placements on the floor.

“Makes you look pretty.” Blitz shamefully admits, causing Stolas to physically stutter and blush. A that was previously floating flying to the wall audibly cracking something that sounded very expensive.

“You can’t just say that- not while doing this.”

“Oh Satan, I’m so scared.”

“…thank you.”

The routine seems to be done when Stolas steps out of the pentagon, surrounded by enchantments and fixtures.

“Ready?”

“Hell yeah!”
