It was just another day in New York, well it used to be. Ever since the great hero Lou Jitsu forged a contract with the higher ups, yokai have roamed the city freely. This lead to problems suchs as racism, discrimination, intolerance, and most likely xenophobia. Although the hatred was entirely pointed at the yokais, there are people who have come to accept their lives alongside the yokais. And they had open arms in welcoming the yokais to their city. People who hated the yokais, couldn't do much. They have magic after all, they can make barriers that can shield them from bullets. But not everyone has magic. Things such as yokai-human families existed. Where yokais adopt human children who were abandoned by their birth parents, and give them new homes where they were raised to be open and accepting. Or the other way around, where humans give new yokais a home and raise them to understand human capabilities. But at the shine of light, there will always be a shadow from the barrier. As existed human families that will abuse their yokai children just to use their magic for their own purpose. Yokais were turned into slaves and helper for the rich, until once again Lou Jitsu stepped up and saved them with his new partner, Draxum. Draxum has initialized a new rule, where adoption will have to go through him as an approvement before the adoption actually begins. This saved countless of children from the terror that is human families. And for every problem, comes Lou Jitsu and Baron Draxum to save the people. They roused down the evil every once in a while, but they to have their own to worry about.
Lou and Baron had decided to send their boys to a human-yokai highschool, where they would learn human knowledge and embrace the yokai culture. They have four boys, being:
Raphael, known as the oldest and biggest. He is an alligator snapping turtle, signatured by the spiky exterior of his shell and skin. He is the leader of the group, he is the brawns. His signature color is red, it's his favorite. He would often tie his jacket around his waist, due to the fact that his spikes would rip it in half with too much movement. He would excel in fitness related lessons, while he would have troubles with the intelligence based lessons.
Leonardo, known as the most confident and the second oldest. He is a red-eared slider, signatured by marking patterns on his skin. He is the face-man, the image of the team, and also the comedian. He would often wear two layers of clothing and wear a pair of sunglasses no matter when or where. He would excel in speed based activities, and is at least decent at his actual lessons.
Donatello, known as the scientist and the second youngest. He is a spiny softshell turtle, signature by spine-like structure on the center of his softshell. He is the most intelligent of his brothers, creator of many inventions. He would often wear formal clothing, being clean as well. He would always have a bottle of hand sanitizer with him. He would excel in all science based lessons, but he would falter when it comes to magic learning.
Michelangelo, known as the most nimble and youngest. He is a common box turtle, signatured by the rounded shape of his shell, with two patterns on his carapace. He is the heart of the team, being the emotional support for his brothers. But he can be a menace himself. He would often wear keychains of food anchored around his outfits for fun. He excels in fitness and magic, but he has troubles with the basic learning system.
It took many tries to convince Donatello, since he would prefer being homeschooled or self-learning, but he reluctantly agreed. If not, Raphael would confiscate his technology. And so they started their first day, at Feint Oxo High School.
