   Summary

   Gene didn't expect to wake up, didn't expect to be alive. The world had painfully faded to black and she thought the curtains had closed on her for good.
   But when she did wake up, it felt natural as ever, like it had always been that way. It isn't easy though. Her mind is full of darkness, memories, and monsters.
   While still not exactly getting the timeline right, she and the Doctor navigate their troubles together, old and new. While starting a family.
   Things are difficult enough as it is...without four knocks waiting in their future.
   Sequel for To See a World. Start there or you'll be confused and very lost. (Unlike Gene, it's best to read things in order.)
