Summary
The war of the four emperor is over. Vespasian now rest on the throne of Rome, laurels and all. Yet, many forget those behind the scenes that shaped his victory. One such shadow is Renata Glasc, Governor of Gaul & Britannia, and decidedly one of the most (if not the most) powerful person in the whole of the Roman Empire. She is a cruel as she is cunning, and many have found that to be on the wrong end of history is to be at the edge of her blade. Yet, to spite this, she is still a mortal. Her heart, no matter how hard a callused she may try to make it, is not immune to the charms of one Seraphine Arcturus; a merchant's daughter from Genoa and a bleeding heart as well.
There marriage is an odd one, but its consequences have and will continue to shape the destiny of millions.
