    The Avengers had gone out onto their fourth mission together, the second Barton had taken part in. Since April there had been five bombings that all had one thing in common, no forensic evidence and a rumour, a name, the Mandarin. S.H.I.E.L.D had dug deeper and had come up with a lead. A lead the Avengers had wanted to investigate and in the process had lost Barton. Of course it had to be Barton. Fury remembers the day he understood just how dangerous and unstable Clint Barton could be. He still took the risk. He always would. Even so he sometimes wondered if it was smart. But then again - the "I" in S.H.I.E.L.D. really didn't stand for "intelligence", right?
