It's Pointless...

Summary:

Sunny awakens from his fight against Omori and prepares to tell Kel, Hero, and Aubrey the Truth. However, upon seeing them again, he's unable to cope with the harm that he's caused them and does not go through with telling them, instead leaving for the roof as Omori would have done.

But the pink-haired delinquent of the group sees right through him.

Notes:

My first AO3 post and I am super duper extraordinarily nervous, but unfortunately this is not my first work so I have less of an excuse. But I hope you'll still be nice and excuse it :p

Also takes inspiration from the first chapter of To Forgive Or Not To Forgive by OddAiTanijiro; I hope it's distinct and different enough to warrant its own identity but just thought this was important to note.

Chapter 1: Waking Up

Chapter Text

Sunny awoke in a hospital bed, the white lights above him alerting him to where he was. His eyesight on his right eye was completely black… there was a bandage over it. Basil really must have done something to it. Oh well.

Everything hits Sunny all at once, and he begins crying, struggling to wipe the tears off of his face. At long last. He won his fight against Omori, and accepted the truth of what happened to Mari. Now it was time to tell everyone else. They deserve to know.

With all of his strength, Sunny got out of his hospital bed and walked towards the door. He looked in the mirror. There was no sign of Something, and all he saw was himself. Things would be okay.

Right?

Sunny limped out of his hospital room, and came to a four way hallway. To his left were the Headspace versions of his friends, Kel, Hero, and Aubrey. To the right was the Stranger. Sunny’s friends beckoned him to follow them down their hallway, and one by one each friend energetically ran. The Stranger silently walked down his hallway. Sunny had a feeling that he knew where he was going.

Sunny followed the Stranger, limping down the hospital hallways before coming to a door, where the Stranger stopped in front of. Sunny reached out his hand, but then the Stranger disappeared. Sunny opened the door.
