Chapter Text

Dream was on the floor just sitting not knowing what to do. He had no place to go. He was terrified and didn't know what to do. He thought he was gonna starve or freeze to death. Although he prefer that than going back to that place. It was horrible and Dream didn't want to go back. He got up and began walking to try and get something to eat.

He hasn't eaten anything in quite sometime now. He'd hope he could find something because the hunger was killing him. After a while he just sat down on a bench in the park. He wasn't going to eat this night. It was cold and he was shivering as his stomach growled. Dream really thought this was the end for him. There was nothing he could do anymore. He just sat there in misery hoping something would come to save him.

After a while in the cold outside he was just gonna try and fall asleep. A layed on the bench and closed his eyes. It was so cold and Dream was shivering. After a while Dream a little tap on his shoulder. Dream opened up his eyes and it was a man. He sat up and looked at the man."Hello" Dream said a little confused. Why was this man here and why did he come up to Dream.

"Hello sir" the man began to say. "Why are you sleeping on the bench?" The man asked.

Dream looked at him a little confused. Why was he asking him that? Dream didn't trust him,he had no reason to trust him. He was some man the street. He could do anything to him and Dream couldn't do anything about it."Uh well I-" Dream didn't know what to say."I'm assuming you have no place to go" the man said. Dream didn't respond to him. He just stared at him a little scared.

"Listen, I can get you something to eat" the man said. Dream thought about it. He didn't know this man but he was hungry. Dream didn't have much to lose. If he goes with this man he could get food or die. Which is technically a win win situation because if he gets food he lives but if he dies he won't have to suffer in this world anymore."alright I'll go with you" Dream replied.

The man smiled at him and asked "whats your name? Mine is Sapnap"

Dream got up from the seat and looked at Sapnap and replied with "I'm Dream"

Sapnap smiled at Dream and said "Well lets get going Dream"

Sapnap than began walking somewhere and Dream followed him. They walked for a while and Dream didn't know where they were going. They eventually stop somewhere and Sapnap said " wait here"

Dream up nodded his head yes and just sat down. The place they were looked like an abandoned town."Yep hes definitely gonna kill me" Dream thought to himself. He just sat there thought about his past. Dream began to tense up as he began to remember. He didn't wanna go back to that place ever again. "Hey are you ok?" Someone asked. Dream looked up and it was just Sapnap.

"Yeah I'm fine" Dream replied.

"You sure?" Sapnap asked a bit concerned. Dream just smiled at him and said "yeah I'm fine" Dream didn't want Sapnap to worry or did he feel comfortable trauma dumping to a stranger. Sapnap than sat next to him and gave him food. Dream began eating,he was so hungry. He hasn't eaten in so long.

From that day on Dream and Sapnap became friends. Sapnap would him food so Dream wouldn't strave. After a few months of doing this Sapnap came to ask Dream of something."Hey Dream would you wanna join The Phantom Foxes" Sapnap asked. Dream looked at him a bit confused."Wait a minute- isn't that the gang of criminals that the police can't catch and one of the most feared gang of criminals" Dream asked.

Sapnap smiled at him and said "yep you're correct,I'm one of them!" Sapnap looked at Dream waiting for his reaction. Dream stood there confused. This has to be some kind of joke. No way this guy was part of the Phantom Foxes. Why did he help him? "Your joking right?" Dream asked.

"Im being serious! I promised my boss I would get a new recruit because we need one and I thought you would be a good addition. You're my friend and you wouldn't have to sleep out here anymore! You could live at home base, a lot of members do that" Sapnap told him hoping he would say yes.

"You don't have to worry about running of food or have to sleeping outside anymore" Sapnap said trying to convince Dream."You have nothing to lose so why not join us?" Sapnap told him. Sapnap was right,he had nothing to lose and began apart of the most feared criminal group would make it so he wouldn't be abused like that again. His life had no purpose but Sapnap was giving him a purpose.

"You'll die out there if you stay out here" Sapnap told Dream. Sapnap also correct about that also. He'll die out here with no purpose. A worthless human being with no one to love him and all alone. Nobody would care if he died...but Sapnap. Sapnap was trying to save him.He was giving him a purpose and making him worth something.

Dream looked up at Sapnap and said to him "alright, I'll join" when he said that Sapnap smiled."Boss will be glad to hear that!" Sapnap said happily."Lets go" Sapnap said as he began to walk to the criminal base. Dream followed him to his new purpose. His new life where he'll be worth something...for the first time his entire life. Sapnap saved him from his worthlessness.

Chapter Text

Dream followed Sapnap into Shadow Fox's base. He was kinda scared since he is in a criminal base right now. He heard this group of people did a lot of horrible things. How could someone like Sapnap, someone that helped and didn't seem to be horrible be one of them. Nobody has ever caught a Shadow Fox before. They are the country's most wanted people.

He entered the base and he saw some people. Dream obviously assumed they are other Shadow Foxes."Hey Sapnap, Me and George were wondering if you wanted to play some games with us" some guy in a blue beanie asked. They seemed to be friends. Sapnap looked at him and replied with "No not right now,I have to bring this guy to the boss" he then pointed at me.

The guy with the blue beanie then just looked at me."This guy?" He asked, kinda confused.
"Why him?" He asked another question.

"Don't you remember? I'm bringing a new member in because we're one man down" Sapnap replied.

"Well yeah be I expected someone cool…not him" the blue beanie guy said a little disappointed. Dream was a little hurt by this because not even a bunch of low life criminals wanted him. He really was worthless and just shouldn't have ever existed."Your one to talk Quackity, weren't you thrown into an orphanage because your mom didn't want you because you were ruining her life?" Sapnap said defending Dream.

Quackity just looked at him a little hurt."The only reason you're here is because our boss went to the orphanage and took you here and gave you a purpose, you'd be nothing without him" Sapnap continued. Quackity looked more hurt and then just walked away.

"Sorry about him,are you ok?" Sapnap apologized. Dream just smiled and nodded at Sapnap in response. He kinda felt bad. He felt as if Sapnap went a little far on him. It probably didn't feel good to someone just bringing up your trauma like that to use against you.

Sapnap looked at him and then began to lead him to the boss. Before entering Sapnap knocked on the door. They waited until there was a response. "Come in," someone said on the other side. Sapnap then grabbed Dream's arm and pulled him into the room. When they entered there was a man sitting in a chair. He was big and bulky; he also had black hair and green eyes.

"Here's our new recruit," Sapnap told him while still holding on to Dream's arm. The man gave Dream a good look at him. Dream waited anxiously for the man's response.He was scared because what if he didn't like him. He'll be back on the streets with nothing again. He was to be liked by him and prove himself. He can't go out there again. What if his parents find him? He couldn't let that happen.

He didn't want to live like that again. Nobody was helping him. CPS didn't do anything to help him get out of there."Lets test his skills" the man said in response. Sapnap nodded his head and pulled Dream out of the room to somewhere else."Hey wait! Where are we going?" Dream asked.

"I'm taking you to Bad" Sapnap replied

"Who's that? Why do I need to be taken to him?" Dream asked.

"Weren't you listening? To test you,Bad is the one that tests people" Sapnap replied a little annoyed. Sapnap thought it was obvious if he was listening to the conversation. Dream started to get anxious again. What the hell is this test? Is it testing his combat ability? He was led into another room with two men inside. He assumed one of them was Bad but who was the other?

"Hey Bad! Here's our new member and he needs to be tested" Sapnap said, pulling Dream towards Bad. Bad looked at him and then asked "So this guy is replacing punz?" Sapnap then nodded his head yes as a response. Bad then grabbed Dream and sat him down.

"Do you have any fighting ability?" Bad asked.

"Uh- no" Dream answered honestly, he couldn't do anything. He was as weak or even weaker as a mouse."hmm ok,are you good at stealing? Or maybe you are sneaky?" Bad asked.

Dream thought about it for a bit and then he replied with "Yeah I can steal,When I was on the streets I stole things to live,I can also sneak around due to my environment growing up"

"What did you steal?" Bad asked immediately after Dream answered.

"Uh…just food and some clothes, nothing crazy" Dream responded.

"Alright,If you had to kill someone would you?" Bad asked. Dream sat there in shock with that question."What do you mean you have to?" Dream asked.

"Well if someone you cared about was about to die and the only way to save them is to kill someone or to complete a mission" Bad responded.

"I would! Especially for you Bad" The other man in the room said very happy and a little flirtatious. Bad glanced at the other man and responded a little annoyed "I know you would Skeppy". Skeppy just smiled.

Dream could tell there was romantic intent with what Skeppy said. He was learning the relationships within the group."So you two are dating" Dream asked. Bad began to blush and got flustered.Skeppy smiled and blushed a little. "Yes we are" Skeppy answered.

"No we're not! You're not even my type" Bad said flustered

"Well,we're not dating now but we will in the future," Skeppy said with a flirty undertone and smile. Bad ignored him and just continued with the test.

"Ok,would you kill someone if you had too?" Bad asked again. Dream thought about it for a bit,"If I had to…then I think I would" Dream answered. It's not like he had a lot to live for so going to prison wouldn't be too bad. It's not like anyone would care.

"Alright then,you got through phase one of the test" Bad told him. Phase one? There are multiple phases of this test? He'd hope he'd pass, he can't go back out there all alone."What's phase two?" Dream asked.

"We're going to test you on all the things you were asked,first combat" Bad said. Dream then got up and wondered how'd they test that."Skeppy attacks him but don't kill him" Bad commanded. Skeppy just got up and started to attack him. Dream tried fighting back but again he wasn't that strong.

So he got his ass kicked by Skeppy. Bad just stood there and watched Dream get beat up by Skeppy."Alright that's enough" Bad told Skeppy. Skeppy then just returned to his seat."Well you were honest that you couldn't fight" Bad said.

"Yeah" Dream replied and got up. He wondered what the next test was now."Alright, follow me" Bad said walking towards the door. Dream began to follow him. They left the hideout and towards a store. Dream was confused and had no idea why they were here."Steal from this store without getting caught" Bad said.

"Oh ok so I just go in and steal,I can steal anything?" Dream asked. Bad nodded his head yes and then Dream went in. Dream walked around the store trying to see what to steal. He didn't want to steal something hard but nothing too easy because he wanted to impress him.

After a while Dream finally left the store and just followed Bad back to the base."What did you steal?" Bad asked once they got to the base. Dream then pulled out a laptop. He just smiled at him.

"Impressive" Bad said looking at it

"Alright, the last test of Phase two,kill someone" Bad told him. Dream just looked at him confused. "What?" Dream asked.

"Kill someone to move on to phase three" Bad told him. Dream just continued to look at him confused. This had to be some kind of joke."You can kill anyone except for a Shadow Fox" Bad told him.

"Well ok,does it matter how?" Dream asked

"Nope! Just kill some that isn't a Shadow Fox" Bad responded.

"Alright" Dream said and went to the base's kitchen. He pulled out a knife and then left the base. Bad and Skeppy followed him outside. Dream started to feel anxious,he's never killed anyone before. He had thoughts of killing his mother but he never went through with it.

Maybe that's it,what if he pretends the person he's killing is his mother. That'll make it a lot easier. Dream knew if he was going to join them he had to kill someone. To make it easier he went looking for a woman with blond hair and green eyes. That's what his mother looked like.

After finishing phase two of the test it was now finally phase three."Tomorrow you will take phase 3" Bad told him. Dream looked at him confused.

"Why" He asked

"Because phase three is when you go on your first mission to see if you're good enough," Bad replied.

Dream understood,"So if I do well on the mission I'll be one of you guys?" Dream asked.

"Yep but all members on the mission have to think you're passable" Bad replied. Dream just nodded and just went to rest. Today was a long and confusing day.
