Summary
Jaemin is the absolute scum of the earth personality wise. The gum at the bottom of your shoe, the crack on a pavement, the fragments of a broken mirror, not a black cat because they're angels and not omens of evil and even if they were witches in disguise Chenle thinks that would be fucking cool as fuck but anyways he digresses.
And Chenle still lets Jaemin fuck him on the regular, so he isn't quite sure what that says about his own character.
(Or, Chenle hates everything about Jaemin; especially the fact that Jaemin doesn't hate him back)

I get done watching a heavy drama and then decided I haven’t had enough heartbreak and decided to read this, even when I knew it was going to be a sad ending 🙃 so fuck me I guess. In my head, it’s going to be a bittersweet ending. Chenle gets the help he needs because everyone needs therapy, and even though he may not have his circle of friends anymore, with his mended self he finds new ones, and this time he’s a better friend. The only person he stays in contact with is Jaemin, but eventually they stop talking to each other. But that’s okay, because Chenle is better now and he’s able to let out his feelings instead of convincing himself that he needs to keep it all in. I think Chenle does go back and when he sees his old friends, he apologizes to Mark, who of course forgives him but doesn’t forget it because what Chenle said hurt. There’s a stiff politeness and it’s more awkward than not. Chenle knew they would never be the same. Seeing Jaemin makes his heart ache just the tiniest bit, but he was his first love, can you blame him? Jaemin and Chenle both find a partner, and when they both meet up even farther down the road, they reminisce on what could’ve been if only Jaemin didn’t love Mark and Chenle didn’t bury his feelings. It ends with the two clinking their glasses together, Chenle saying, “I hate you,” and Jaemin saying, “I know. I hate you too.” Fin.
