Better Than Me... || HIATUS

Summary:

Prince Steve Harrington. What a fun title, one that will sit on his shoulders and weigh him down. 19 years of his life, dedicated to this day. He is supposed to become wed within the week. He thought he had more time, he was false. Now he sits in an uncomfortable suit, people catering to his every movement and saying. His mother sits in the room over, sipping tea.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Captain Eddie Munson. A man with no purpose, or so he says. He grew up, the past 20 years biting him, a peasant among a lowly economy. Now he sits at the helm of a boat, 'Hellfire' She was called. Him and his crew were making their way to a very big celebration. A group of party crashers, there to lighten the mood. And the load of riches they may have.

Chapter Text

Steve had people waiting on him left and right. Fixing his hair, rolling up his sleeves, bathing him, clothing him. His parents had stopped showing him attention once he turned five years old, leaving him to the Nursemaids and Governess to teach him what he needed to know. He was taught how to read, write, to recite paragraphs of information simply from memory by the time he was ten years old. It never impressed his parents. Eventually he grew tired of the same empty stare every day, he started to study harder, work harder. He did everything to impress his parents, to live up to their standards, to do anything right by them. Though every time he was met with that same empty stare. They didn't care about him, at fifteen he was painfully aware of that. He started to fall into a depression. Being forced to do everything was normal, but it took all the more effort this time around. At eighteen he was forced into an engagement. They had yet to be wed but he hated it. Sure, Nancy Wheeler was gorgeous, smart, witty and surely a lovely wife.

He didn't want that. He didn't want her. He didn't want to be his parents pawn in this kingdom of theirs. Hawkins was a terrible kingdom, he hated it, he hated the people, and he hated to have to marry to bring promise of money and peace. It was so fucking stupid. Yet he was trapped. He had no where to go, no where he was wanted, no one he could trust with friendship. Except for one person, Robin Buckley. She's the daughter of the stableboy- man? Stableman? Steve had a crush on her for a few years, around twelve to the ages of sixteen. She had very nervously and carefully expressed she wasn't into men, and Steves first response was...

"That's aloud?" He leaned against the stables, knees up to his chest. Robin shook her head with a frown.

"Not really, no. But I can't help it, I've never liked boys how I was told I'm supposed to." Steves smiled at this, eye-lines wrinkling at how wide his grin was. God it was a stupid smile.

"So I can like boys?" Robin must've looked absolutely flabbergasted cause she was barely able to get a word out.

"What?"

He chuckled at the memory, standing up from his desk and making his way to his bed. Now at nineteen years old, he would be married to Nancy Wheeler tomorrow. He settled himself in, he had to practically force out the staff that were in his room so he could be alone for a bit. He normally hated being alone, but right now, it's all he wanted.

Notes:

Chapter Text

One week in the past...

Eddie smirked as Mike Wheeler boarded his ship, prince of southern Hawkins. He was the messenger. Bringing the Hellfire crew all the news and events. It was perfect. His parents were always on trips and Nancy was far to busy preparing for her wedding to notice when he went missing for days at a time. Even if it was depressing, they made the perfect team.

Eddie Munson, the captain.

Michael Wheeler as the Messenger.
Dustin Henderson as the Quartermaster.
William Byers as the treasurer and secondary chef.
Lucas Sinclair as the barrelman and Sailingmaster.
Jeff Golden as the head chef.
Gareth Baisley as the Boatswain.

Everything was perfect, then a drop of news hit the crew like they had just hit the jackpot.

"The Harrington's son of Northern Hawkins is to marry my sister In a weeks time. Its happening at the Harrington's palace. Its said that his and his parents rooms, not to mention the dungeons, will be left unguarded. Do with that what you will, I need to go. Nancy needs me this week."
Mike had sighed and patted Will on the back as he left the boat, leaving a lovestruck boy and a confused crew.

"So... Captain Munson, what's the plan?"
