Notes:

Hey! I came up with this Sildia and honestly, I've never written with them before, and they're not characters I have a good handle on either. Don't expect more than what you see in the tags.

Work Text:

Idia kept reflecting on how an Internet meme had led him to that situation. And not just any meme, but one of gamers, of gamers without a partner who could only dream of what was depicted in the image. It was lucky that Idia, even though he was a gamer, had a partner, one willing to recreate it.

‘Silver is sleeping on top of him’ It would be the most normal sentence in the world. However, for Idia it was not as simple as that. Silver was sleeping on him, yes. Only a couple of details would have to be emphasized.

First, he was sleeping on his lap sitting facing him. Okay, he could tolerate his closeness, in fact, it was the only contact he could more or less tolerate in his entire life. The second thing, however, was the tricky part. He was playing an online game with his boyfriend's father.

And said father did not know about his relationship with him. Playing online with an ignorant Lilia while Idia father-in-law's son slept on his lap, hugging him like a koala bear to a bamboo with his strong arms, was something that concerned him. But honestly, Idia had no regrets. It was freezing cold in Ignihyde, even colder in winter. And the heating was fine, but, there was nothing comparable to the warmth his boyfriend provided. Not only did he use him as a stove, he also liked to spend quality time with him, of course.

Besides, he had to rank no matter what that night, so, sleeping Silver on top or not, he would do it. He was talking via chat so as not to disturb him, and with his headphones on, neither would Silver hear his teammates. Idia was grateful he had left his arms free, at least. His boyfriend's, anyway, pressed tighter to him, causing Idia to lose some air. He was too strong. Idia sighed and tapped him on the neck with his nose to get him to take notice. Silver, after a few eternal seconds, stopped squeezing him.

The bluish lights in the room, added to the accumulated sleep, and Silver's closeness, began to lull him into a trance. His fingers moved deftly over the buttons and, although his muscle memory and tired eyes were anchored on the game, Idia's mind wandered to a few hours ago, when Silver was still awake.

On nights when Sebek had the duty of guarding Malleus, Silver took the opportunity to pay Idia a visit. Depending on the time, they would either stay in his room or go out to the lonely gardens of Night Raven College. And that night, precisely, they ended up choosing the first option. In it, they either took advantage of the intimacy, or used it to just spend time together.

Silver eventually fell into shows, Idia still struggled to get him to take more interest in video games, but was sure he would manage to do it. He definitely was the worst influence his boyfriend could have come across. They were lying on Idia's bed, although Silver was more on top of him than on the mattress. The episode was over, and he had opened Magicam with the intention of reading the forum comments, meanwhile, they were chatting about what had happened. It was precisely when, out of nowhere, the meme appeared in front of them.

How virgins sit.” Silver read aloud. “How true gamers sit, nah, jk, they don't have a gf.” After a few long seconds, Idia knew he had not understood the meme, so he decided to give him a hand.

“The joke is that gamers are, most likely, virgins and thus don't have a partner to do that with.” Idia explained. “But well, oof, it's a meme reposted over 1000 times, they never let it die. Virgin gamers, they don't leave their room, the usual.”

“I see, I understand better now, thank you.” Idia wanted to scroll down to the next post, but Silver's hand stopped him. He saw him sit up on the bed, looking determinedly at him. “Shall we do it?” He asked solemnly.

Idia felt his cheeks burn so much that he felt like dying right there, indeed, he was going to die. He widened his golden eyes in surprise at his serious and sudden request. His mind jumped to the wrong conclusions, it did not cross his mind that he meant the other part of the meme. He was also pretty sure that the ends of his hair had turned pink.

“What?” He asked, in case he had misheard.

“That if you want, we can do it, I'd have to be on top of you and…” He reviewed. “Oh, sorry, do you agree with the idea?”

ON TOP OF HIM!? Idia was becoming more and more certain of his theory. Bless the extremely reposted meme of virgin gamers, he had unlocked the hidden end of his route with the prince of Night Raven College. Idia carefully considered his options, knowing that it was not as simple as playing an otome. Actually, he wanted IRL dialogue options to be real, it would save him a lot of trouble.

He swallowed before answering. “ᴺ⁻ᴺᵒ, ʸᵉˢ ʸᵒᵘ ᵈᵉᶠᶦⁿᶦᵗᵉˡʸ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵒⁿ ᵗᵒᵖ.” He said in a trailing off voice. “I mean, I didn't think you were that bold, Silver. You've… You've advanced a lot ahead on the route, are you sure you want to?”

“It's fine with me, if you can play comfortably with me on top, sure.”

“Huh?”

“According to the meme, the partner has to be on top of the gamer boyfriend.” Silver said, pointing to the phone. “Although, that way, I won't be able to see you play.”

Ah, wait a minute, wait a minute, okay. Alright, alright, alright, it was not what he had thought. That was what happened to him for having watched too many series, and also for having clung to the wrong conclusion. He let out a sigh, relieved that they had not yet reached that step. He had said it so solemnly that he had actually bought it. How embarrassing.

“Ah, yes, of course, the meme, hehe…” After a slight nervous chuckle, he continued. “Well, it has its explanation. If she wanted to see him play, she wouldn't face him. Normally, it's a position to make out.” It was Silver whose cheeks were flushed this time. “Huh? Don't tell me you're embarrassed, you're the more experienced one here out of the two of us. I even thought you had proposed something else, I almost got a game over screen.”

Silver smiled slightly. “So that's why you've become so shy, I understand.” He averted his aurora eyes to the time on the phone before looking back up at him. “It was at twelve, right?”

“Yes, the campaign is starting at twelve.” At exactly one hour. As he watched Silver get up and walk to his desk, he assumed his fate. “You know, besides, it's also a comfortable sleeping position, not for the poor guy below, which is going to be me…” But it was a risk he had to take. “It's an ideal meme for you, yeah.” He locked his phone and stood up as well. “Let's check first if I can play.”

And, after maneuvering and looking for a position where he would not be crushed, nor would Silver be uncomfortable, they found that he could indeed play without a problem. He became accustomed, in fact, quite quickly to his closeness. Not bad for someone who avoided physical contact to death, except for Silver's. He only tolerated Silver's. The clock read seven minutes past eleven when they decided to take advantage of the remaining time.

A silly grin appeared on Idia's face as he remembered the touch of his lips against his, and that of his strong hands clasped to his face and nape… He was so entranced that he was killed in the game, and yet he did not insult his teammates over the chat. Perhaps Silver was the best positive influence he could have.

His legs were numb, his back was killing him, but looking at his handsome face took away the urge to wake him up. It was not as if he could carry him to bed with his nonexistent physical strength either, he decided he had to come up with something to transport sleeping Silver.

He subtly kissed his cheek before pressing the appropriate buttons on his controller. “I forgive you for sleeping on me because you are such a cute sleeping prince. You have more privilege for being my oshi, ah, well, maybe calling you oshi is indeed a bit unusual…”

“Hey, are you with someone?”

Idia froze for a few moments at those words. Shit. shit! The game had ignored his change of settings, and his comment had been heard all over the channel. On top of that, it was Lilia who had asked. He quickly thought of an excuse, but not before muting the microphone for a second time.

“[Nah, no way, lol.]” He typed. “[I'm farming an otome gacha route].”

“Otomes? Ah, those were the dating ones. Wow, you're finally getting 'bitches'.” Laughed Lilia. Idia had to hold his own, poor Silver, if only he knew what his father had called him.

“[I see you're well-informed about new terms, Muscle Kurenai-shi]”

“Of course, I'm trying to fit in with the new generations.” He said proudly. “So you're hitting on a sleeping prince?”

Idia did not know if he wanted to continue through that conversation. He had a bad feeling about it. He killed three enemies before answering him. “[Yeah. It's my oshi lmao.]”

“Yes, yes, I can see you like him a lot.” The tone Lilia used was suspicious to say the least. Idia began to play robotically, tense at his words. “Well, I'm done for this channel, I have to go to the other one. Tell him not to come back too late when he wakes up, bye, son-in-law!” His yellowish eyes widened as he said that last sentence, freezing on the spot.

Before Idia could say anything about it, Lilia changed channels without further ado. Pursing his lips, he took off his headphones and put the remote down on the desk, bringing a hand to his forehead. He would scream, if Silver was not sleeping peacefully, he would scream. What a desire to die. Idia refused to go to class the next day, he would use his tablet instead.

After a few long seconds, he decided that in view of the fact that his father-in-law had discovered him, he would cope by playing the online game. There was little else to do but resign himself. What a desire to die, indeed.
