Chapter Text
"Leo!"
Leo almost jumped when he heard Mikey calling his name.
Leo was in the kitchen, trying to get his mind off of a dream he kept having.
The dream was about the Krang.
Every night, Leo was in the space prison, floating in an infinite darkness.
And everytime Mikey's portal was about to open and when Leo was about to be saved, the Kraang would come out of nowhere.
It would grab Leo by the leg, dragging him back into the dark, him screaming as he watched his brothers watch him get murdered right in front of their eyes.
It left Leo hyperventilating everytime he woke up, shaking and crying for what seemed like hours before he would collapse out of emotional exhaustion.
This time however, he was too scared to fall back asleep, too scared to face the Kraang again.
But he wasn't scared to face Mikey, who was standing in the doorway of the kitchen with a concerned look on his face.
"Leo, What're you doing up so late?" Mikey asked.
Leo swallowed back his feelings.
"I could ask you the same thing, little bro," Leo replied.
He saw Mikey frown.
"I'm awake because I just saw my brother walk out of his room crying."
Leo tensed.
"You can talk to me, Leo. I'm here for you. We all are."
Leo would normally just give up at this point. Surrender, say how he's feeling, and hug it out.
But he couldn't do that anymore.
He was the leader now, so it was his responsibility to look after the team.
"I know that," Leo replied, trying to change the subject.
"I was just trying to get my mind off the whole time-travel, world ending alien thing."
Mikey didn't look satisfied.
"If I was dealing with something, I would tell you guys, I swear." Leo crossed his fingers, showing Mikey that he wasn't joking.
"But really, I'm fine. I promise."
He saw Mikey sigh.
"Fine." Mikey said, before hugging Leo.
"Good night," He yawned, before walking out of the kitchen.
"Night!" Leo called. Turning around, he caught his reflection in the microwave.
And he saw the Kraang standing behind him.
Glass shattered as Leo punched the microwave, shards going everywhere and his hand bleeding.
Breathing hard, Leo pulled back his hand, his heart skipping beats.
- I'm okay. It's okay. -
"It's all okay," Leo said out loud, as if anyone listening would have their mind changed.
