Work Text:

You grunted as you tried to move the heavy bag of flour. Even if Fili had told you that you didn't need to work anymore, you still did. Partly because sitting in your room all day would be boring, and mostly because baking was your passion.
"Need help?" You looked up and saw a familiar hat-wearing dwarf standing above you.
"Uh, yes. Help would be great, thank you. You muttered, and he bent down and picked up the flour bag like it weighed nothing, which annoyed you lightly. Your eyes got drawn into his arm muscles as they worked to get the flour sack into a good position, but your stayed calm. Well, you stayed calm until a memory of Fili carrying a shipment of jewels from a few days ago crashed into your mind, and you couldn't help but to blush. Bofur had nice arms but he was in a completely different league than Fili.

Fili was watching your exchange from a distance, a sour feeling settling in his stomach. He didn't like seeing anyone close to you, and especially if they were smiling at you that warmly. He tried telling himself that Bofur was being nice to you, as he was to everyone, but the moment he saw you blush was the breaking point to him and he marched away before he could walk down to the two of you and give Bofur a smack for messing with his fiancé.

It was evening, and there was a celebration going on. You stood next to Dwalin, smiling at the people walking past you. Your eyes were searching for Fili, as you wished for a dance, but you had no such luck. He was a busy dwarf, you undersood, but you still thought he would have been there. That was when you noticed Bofur standing alone, you walked up to him.
"Good evening, Y/N." He greeted and you smiled.
"Good evening. I realized that I didn't even thank you when you helped me this afternoon, so I just had to make that wrong right. So, thank you for helping me." You smiled, and he let out a small laugh.
"It was my pleasure." You smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Well, I still wanted to thank you."

Fili had just walked inside the house and his eyes were searching you. He spotted Gloin, and walked to him, grabbing a tankard of ale as he walked past a table.
"Evening." Gloin only nodded in response, and Fili noticed his eyes trail to the bar.
"Have you seen Y/N?" He tried to sound casual, but the truth was if you were with Bofur, he would surely...
And there you were, talking with him as Gloin pointed you out. His mind went blank and he drunk the pint empty in one go and placed it on the table, heading your way.

Your conversation with Bofur was interrupted when you felt strong arms pick you up and you recognized them instantly.
"Fili!" You squeaked but he didn't answer, he just gave a nod and wished Bofur a good evening and left him behind, looking very confused.

Fili walked with a quick pace until you arrived to his bedroom, where he placed you on his bed and stood in front of you.
"What were you doing?" He asked, voice hard, and you flinched. He didn't seem to notice this, which was not like him. He continued to stare at you, which was also not like him.
"I-I was speaking with Bofur to spend time as I waited for you. I just wanted to thank him about helping me earlier." You explained in a quiet voice, and his shoulders relaxed.
"W-What did you think I was doing?" You asked, and he looked at you, eyes unreadable.

Then it hit you.
"Fili?" You asked, and he just grunted as a response.
"Were you jealous?" A smirk was making a way into your face, and Fili lifted his eyes at you.
"No..." He mumbled, and you smiled, walking to stand in front of him.
"Yes you were."
"No I was not."
"You were."
"Was not."
"Fili. You were jealous of Bofur, weren't you?" You asked and he sighed.
"No."
"Why would you be jealous of him? You know that I only love you." You asked, and he sighed.
"You were looking at his arms ... And you blushed... His voice trailed off as he realized he sounded ridiculous. You tried (and failed) to suppress a giggle as your cheeks turned bright red as you realized what he was talking about. He turned to look at you, and you placed a hand on his cheek.
"I wasn't blushing because of him. I was blushing because watching his arms reminded me how nice yours are." You allowed your hand to slide onto his shoulder, and he looked at it and then lifted his eyes to you.
"I might have overreacted." He mumbled, and you let out a laugh.
"Might have overreacted? You carried me out of the ballroom and everyone saw. What do you think they assume we are doing here?" You raised an eyebrow at this, and a blush creeped onto his neck as he realized what you meant.

"So, will you admit that you were jealous?" You smirked, and he sighed deeply.
"Fine. I was jealous." At the sound of your short laugh, lifted his eyes to you, and you sneaked your arms around his neck.
"For no reason. You are the one I love." You mumbled before you pressed your lips to his.
"Mine." He breathed out after the kiss ended.
"Just yours." You conformed, and leaned in for another kiss.
