Work Text:
Tony was preparing the kitchen for Ezra to come. They decided to cut out pumpkins together for Halloween. Even though, it was still some time to it, Tony thought that the sooner the better. The boy had to convince his boyfriend to do it since Ezra didn't necessarily like that holiday itself. However, he eventually did agree.
That's why, right after the lessons ended, Tony kissed his boyfriend goodbye and ran to his home.
"Mum, can't you really go to aunt Millie?" he asked, walking past the woman and carrying the pumpkin.
His mum only chuckled. "Tony, will you really feel embarrassed if I stay at home while your boyfriend that you've been dating for two years will be here?"
The boy only groaned and went back to his preparation. He chose that Friday because his dad went on a night shift and his mum was supposed to visit her sister so they would be alone. Not that, Tony wanted to do anything inappropriate... well maybe. Anyway, now it wouldn't work since his mum decided to change her plans. He could only accept the fact.
The kitchen was starting to look like an alchemist's dungeon. Maybe it was a silly idea, but Tony thought that it would be more fun if they actually worked in such an atmosphere. Also, he hoped that Ezra would later help him clean the room.
Suddenly, he heard the doorbell and ran quickly to open the door. A big grin appeared on his face when he saw his boyfriend, looking fabulous as always, smiling at him as well.
"Hello, dear," he said and gave Crowley a quick kiss.
"Hi, angel," Tony replied and, as always, made Ezra blush at the pet name.
The ginger quickly hung the boy's jacket and led him to the living room where he asked him to sit down and wait. Ezra chuckled and sat down, starting a casual conversation with Tony's mum. The two of them really liked to talk. One day, when Ezra was staying overnight, Crowley fell asleep on a sofa as his boyfriend and his mum were talking about some old books and writers. Completely not Tony's topics.
"Ta da!" The boy came out of the kitchen, holding two glasses with some orange drinks. Ezra had some idea what they could consist of. "Here's your potion!" Tony passed the boy his glass. It was decorated with a paper cut looking like a bat that was glued to the glass.
"Is it Irn Bru?" the blond asked.
Crowley grinned. "Yes!"
Irn Bru was Crowley's favourite drink since that one time his uncle from Scotland gave it to him to try it. After that he was rambling about it all the time until he finally convinced Azirphale to try it as well. Unfortunately, the boy didn't find it as tasty as his boyfriend. In fact, he would avoid drinking it if he could. However, he could drink it from time to time just to see that smile on Tony's face. Also, it was always funny to see him drinking it and noticing that the drink matched his hair.
As always, the boy downed the drink and quickly dragged Ezra to the kitchen. The blond had to admit that his boyfriend did prepare for their meeting. There were fake combs on the cupboards, paper bats hanging from the lamp, he even brought poison ivy from his garden and placed it all around the counter. The whole kitchen did look spooky and the fact that Tony only left three little lights on made it even more spooky. Of course, the two pumpkins were proudly place in the middle of the table, waiting for the boys to start cutting them out.
"You did it all yourself?" Ezra asked as he was examining the fake combs. The fabric that they were made of was fascinating.
"Well, my dad helped me with the bats," the boy admitted and came up to the pumpkins. "Shall you be my accomplice in this crime, my dear?" he joked and passed the other knife to his boyfriend.
Ezra chuckled and stood next to Crowley, preparing himself to start cutting out the pumpkin. He's never really done it before but didn't want to admit it. He thought that it would ruin fun for Tony so he just decided to try to hide it. However, his first problem was how to actually hold the pumpkin so it would be the most comfortable for him. Fortunately for him, the top of it was already cut out so now he just needed to carve it, so he tried to mimic the ginger as well as he could. It wasn't the easiest thing to do but he was slowly getting there.
The hard part begun when he had to actually cut out some pattern on the pumpkin. He'd already found it hard to even sketch one while Tony was already cutting it out. His struggles were finally noticed by the boy who stopped his work for a while and took a longer look at his boyfriend.
"You good there, angel?" he asked trying not to suggest anything.
Ezra looked to him and nodded. "Everything is absolutely tip-top."
Tony only raised his eyebrow and came back to his work. He knew that his boyfriend had some difficulties with his activity but he decided to leave him for a longer bit. Firstly, he wanted to take care of the pumpkin's eyes.
"Alright, maybe I'm not good," the blond eventually admitted and put down the knife with a groan.
Crowley, however, was very quick to help his boyfriend.
"Have you ever actually done this before?" he asked, even though he had already known the answer. As he predicted, Ezra shook his head. "Okay, let me help."
The ginger moved himself behind the blond and grabbed the boy's pumpkin, sliding his arms right under Ezra's. It was the most comfortable position for the blond. He liked being able to lean against Tony's chest. He like their height difference and that he could always count on him even in such a silly situation as that one. Crowley, on the other hand, subconsciously put his chin on the blond's head and started his brief instruction.
"Okay, so try to hold it like this." He presented. "Now it should be easier to actually cut it out. Also, you can carve it a bit more so you won't need to use so many strength." Ezra nodded and followed his boyfriend's instructions. He was right. It was such a simple solution to that and he didn't get to it himself.
"There you go, angel," Crowley said and kissed the boy on his cheek as he went back to his pumpkin and continued his work.
When they were done, it was very easy to notice which pumpkin was whose. Tony's one was cut out very precisely, you could see the idea and the experience. Ezra's, on the other hand, looked a bit clumsy and crooked. He wasn't very proud of it, unlike his boyfriend.
"Oh my god, angel, yours looks so cute!" he exclaimed and kissed Ezra gently. "You did great!" The blond blushed at the compliment and felt immediately much better.
Crowley's mum walked in the kitchen and took a few photos of them. Tony would later post them on Instagram and especially send them to Beez who didn't manage to convince Gabriel to do the same.
The two pumpkins were placed proudly in front of the door as the best decoration. Later, as Tony promised his mum, Ezra and him started to clean the kitchen which they also found really funny. Apparently, the fake combs were great to throw at each other.
After a succesful cleaning, the boys made their way to Crowley's room where both of them flopped on the bed, well, Tony flopped on Ezra. Turned out that carving was, in fact, a tiring activity after which they just wanted to rest. The ginger was immediately ready to go to sleep, unfortunately, he was pushed on the bed by his boyfriend since he actually wanted to take a quick shower.
When he went back to the room, he noticed Tony already asleep, sprawled on the bed as always. He crawled next to him and gently spooned him because he knew that it was Tony's favourite position to sleep, even though, he would probably change it like a hundred times in the night. The blond brushed his boyfriend's hair slowly, feeling his chest moving slowly which was the most comforting thing to feel.
"'t was fun, 'ngel," Crowley murmured and nuzzled in the boy's forearm.
"A lot of fun indeed, dear," he replied with a smile.
