Work Text:

Ivory walked the red carpet her dull pink and brown corset around her waist and her long silvery pink dress flowing behind her. She wore a light fur jacket as she waited for the event to begin. Her hair was filled with flowers and a small almost broken like halo hovered over her head. Her small white and pink wings stretched out behind her. Her scar on her right eye almost glowing when the light hit her face. Her hair not only was filled with flowers but had bun put up into a small messy bun with most of it flowing down to her back. Her pink eyes scanned the crowd almost waiting for someone to arrive knowing they'd be late.

People crowded around her almost, they didn’t look as stunning. They looked bland compared to her and if anything she was the star of the show. She wore rose quartz and pink diamonds on her wrist and rings on her fingers even though she wasn’t married. She just did so to be avoided being asked to dance or being asked out. People didn’t usually interest her that way.

As her dress flowed down to her arms she found the person she was waiting for and she gave off a small smile. A rare sight for the others but not one for the person. He had white hair and purple eyes. He wore a normal suit with a purple tie although he stood out from the crowd. He also had wings but not a halo. His arm was covered in scars and tattoos for no other reason than it looked cool.

”Ivory!” He chimes walking up to her. He smiled at her and gave her a small hug.

"Branzy," Ivory smiled at her brother. It was obvious they both knew what was going on and what the party was for. Ivory was going to war. She was older than her brother who was currently 17 she was 18. He should be the one going to war but they don't have any other siblings they had one but they died shortly after a raid.

So they're at a predicament when Branzy's 18 he's gonna be king but one of them has to go to war. Plus apparently woman can't be rule over a country by themselves. So Ivory said she was going to war for Branzy. Everyone in the castle knew that she was one of the best fighters around but woman have never really gone to war before.

Although she convinced them. In her short time of being noticed that she was going to go to war instead of her brother she was helping him know how to lead a country. The scariest part being he already knew, he was a natural at it. It gave her anxiety. She was proud of him of course but at the same time scared. Now they held a party for Ivory before she goes to war wishing her good luck.

"Alright everyone as I'm sure you know my daughter Ivory is going to war today! Now as one of the first female warriors of our kingdom I've decided to hold a party for her, wishing her good luck on her travels. Hopefully she'll return in a few days or so but that cannot be set in stone. So raise your glasses and wish her luck!" Her father shouted. Everyone did so and Ivory felt weird under the spotlight.

Branzy gave her a tight hug and she laughed. Her brother was scared for her and she was scared for him. Either way they can't stay together.

The first few days of traveling was interesting. People constantly nit picked at her telling her that she shouldn't do things or couldn't. She hated that. She was given a suit from her father, it was a pure black and white cloak with pink outlines on it and the metal on it being fools gold. She didn't mind it though.

Branzy also gave her something. A dagger, the handle of it was silver and had a pink like glow to it and an amethyst gem in in middle. It had silver designs and a silver blade. He knew that she liked silver way more than gold. One of the many things he knew that their parents didn't.

Then the war got worse and worse. People around her dying left and right betrayals from her closet allies to ones that she could predict. It was overwhelming to say the least. One second she was fighting an enemy and the next her friend. A year passed by and everyone was meant to be home by now. But they weren't.

Supplies came in fast and all she could think about was how Branzy was holding up. He was king now, she was kind of mad that she missed one of the most important days in her brothers life and the whole time when fighting took her anger out on her enemies. That wasn't a pretty thing. Red and black coated the battlefield once she was done with them.

She held the dagger Branzy gave her and sighed, it was coated in red. She didn't wanna wear it out though so she grabbed a sword from one of the bodies that laid dead. Pink and silver. It was like it was meant for her. He picked it up and it was kinda dull but she could always sharpen it.

A year and a half now has passed. Scars on her wings shown and her once pure white and pink wings have more pink to them than ever. With the scars and everything the feathers that grow there feel stiff and shallow compared to before. She's glad she took the hit for her brother.

2 years. Ivory's 20 now. The war keeps getting worse and worse, they have 1/5 the amount of people from the start. only 200 warriors now. They send a few more in that are only trained enough to handle it. She keeps wondering how her brothers handling it. They send out a messenger every few days to him. She constantly told them not to because it would stress him out but they didn't listen.

3 years. She is being held captive. She looked around the dust ridden room and saw people talking. Her legs were untied and glass was smashed on the floor in attempts to intimidate her. Pathetic. She threw her weight back against the chair and grabbed a glass shard pressing it into the rope and it cut it instantly. She held the shard and rushed towards the men in front of her.

She cut their throats blood pooling out and onto their clothes. Some of them she stabbed their chests and the blood came through their mouths. She didn't care, she couldn't care. She felt someone push her down and she lunged forward grabbing her weapon that they stole from her and turned around. It was a kid, no more than 12. She felt her hand shake. The boy's hands were shaking too and he was covered in blood. Ivory's mouth felt dry in this moment as the boy held a small piece of glass and was trying to threaten her with it.

It took awhile before she spoke to him. "This isn't your fight, run," with that the boy nodded and ran away and Ivory only felt more and more disgust for what they tried to get him into. She let out a sharp sigh before running way and freeing the other soldier held captive by them. Then they were off.

She messed around with her weapons when they reached the camp someone was calling a peace with them. She paused and looked at her commander. Although he didn't give off anything.

"They want to talk with you," Was all he said and then she was led into the lions den.

She wasn't shaking and stood taller than most. She walked forwards and sat down.

Hours must've passed by as words were exchanged before they both signed the contract. Peace was upon them. Although she couldn't bring herself to act friendly. She walked away coldly trying not to get herself to trust them. A few months passed by and they were actually going home. Ivory found herself more excited than she thought she would be. She was going to see her brother again. After 3 years.

She was scared too, if he changed although she knew that it was probably unlikely knowing him. He didn’t change in the whole 17 years she knew him. He still could’ve. So here she was riding on a carriage back. With a bunch of people. They were cleaned up of course and she wore her outfit with the silver and pink designs. She looked at the gates almost in awe. Before they were wood about to fall on anyone who walked near them now they were steel, pure steel. With elegant designs painted on them. A the wall that once encased everything in the kingdom was thinner and smaller, although it was made of obsidian and painted to look nice, she still smiled.

Everything was upgraded and improved. That’s how her brother did things. He didn’t have them the same if they worked he liked to over do things and then show off to his friends joking around but when someone outside of his friend group praises him for it he shies away and into the darkness. That’s how Branzy worked he was a charismatic figure. One thing she noticed when she entered was a huge statue of their father was torn down. He wasn’t a very good king anyways but she still had laughed at her brothers audacity to do so anyways.

She watched as people crowded around their friends and family cheering them on and how others mourned their loses. She felt pity for them and she watched as some people went up to her to ask her how they died if she knew. She told them the ones she knew and the ones who betrayed them. She wasn’t gonna surfer coat it for them. They deserved to know. Then she saw him. He stood out for sure, he wasn’t wearing his crown and was wearing a purple vest and a black shirt and pants. He never dressed elegantly yet still she could always make him out of the crowd. Whether it was his white hair or purple eyes he always stood out. They way he walked awkwardly and they way he just smile was always funny to her.

He was the center of attention and half of the time he didn’t even know it. She opened her arms for a hug and he took it squeezing her tight. Way tighter than she expected. She closed her eyes embracing it and feeling some piece of metal slightly dig into her back. It wasn’t very noticeable but when they let go she looked down at his left hand. He bore a red and black ring with extricate designs.

Mostly swirls and a mask like thing on it. She watched in amusement as he tried to hide it. “I’m so glad you’re back!” He half shouted, although it wasn’t really noticeable through the crowds clamoring.

”It’s, it’s great to be back. Also,” she grabbed his hand and smiled almost boasting that he couldn’t hide it. Branzy flushed slightly and took his hand back covering his face. As she expected.

”Who’s the lucky lady,” she asked. Branzy didn’t answer and instead turned around giggling slightly.

”So anyways come on! The castles not far from here,” he smiled and they both began walking. The guards parted for him and for once they didn’t look scared. Ivory was confused to say the least. She walked with Branzy though trusting her brother. Then he lead her to her room. “Here, it’s the same as you left but... cleaner,” he laughed slightly. Ivory didn’t usually keep her room in the best standards so she was happy to see it cleaned. The pink and white walls with flower designs on it.

“Thanks,” She smiled turning around and giving her brother one last hug. “But you’re still telling me who you’re married to,” she smiled.

”Marrying, and their coming today,” Branzy muttered. It was obvious that he wasn’t so sure about having them in the same room. Ivory began wondering why cause usually he would be overly excited over it. Right now he’s just embarrassed. She began organizing the room the way that she liked it and made her bed according to her own standards. Then someone got her down to meet their guests.

She felt excited as she went down the stairs to see a few people standing at the door, families and everything. People began talking and Ivory began listening. “I never really thought they liked each other to be honest, like not really their types at first glance you know,” some one said.

”Yeah, I thought they were just flirting as a joke,”

Ivory walked into a room and saw Branzy talking to a few people. Clown, and Mid. Which was weird cause Mid wasn’t the type of person to flirt, although... Clown was. She had short interactions with him before and he was the type of person to do that to close friends, and they didn’t seem like each other’s type so well there was only one answer,

”Ivory!” Branzy chimed. He waved slightly over to her and she walked over to them and shook her hands. Her wings lifted slightly behind her making her look larger than usual and she watched as Clown made no expression then again he was wearing a mask. Under it she knew that he was freaking out and that’s all she needed to know. Mid just stood in awe somewhat laughing at her own brothers demise.

”Ivorycello,” she greeted calmly and coolly, although it had almost a smug manner to it.

”Clownpierce...” he drifted off as if he was deciding what to say next and Branzy just looked at him.

”Are you chickening out right now?” He asked.

Clown turned to him and glared at him. Even though he was wearing a mask you could totally tell. “I didn’t know that your sister was fucking scary,” he hissed to him. It was low and Ivory heard it causing her to laugh.

”You’re gonna loose the bet then,” Mid laughed. Clown waved his hand telling her to shut up before turning to Ivory and slowly dragging out his sentence.

”Clownpierce, I’m Branzys fiancé,” he said trying not to seem scared. Ivory let out a small laugh before turning to Branzy.

”So I can’t kill him?”

”Please don’t,” Branzy pleaded slightly.

”Oh you can try,” Clown said shortly after almost cutting Branzy off.

”Guys-“

”It’s on,”
