   Summary

   After almost being assassinated by the Church at Enbarr, Edelgard reassesses the state of the Empire. She needs to reduce how many fronts of war she is fighting. Obviously, the logical choice is to get into a political marriage with Claude von Reigan, the least hostile of her enemies.

   Claude doesn't know why Edelgard is proposing this marriage, but it can't be because she genuinely wants an Alliance. Determined to ferret out her true intentions, Claude tentatively agrees, ready to exploit whatever weaknesses he finds while negotiating.

   But there are forces at play which will force them to come together, whether they fully trust each other or not...
