"Date, what on earth are you doing?"
Halfway out of the door, Date pauses. "Uhhh. Going for a walk?"
Mizuki puts down her weights. "You have never in your life done anything that involves cardio willingly. If you're going to lie, at least be good at it."
"That's-!" Date inhales, and then stops. "Okay, you're kind of right. But still, I can go for a walk if I want to!"
"Can you though?"
"Mizuki, you are a horrible daughter."
Pulling a face, Mizuki shudders. "Ew. Do not call me your daughter again, that was disturbing. You're more like a really annoying and useless roommate than anything. Also, it's not like you're winning any awards for your parenting."
Date gasps, clearly offended. "But I'm such a good parent!"
Mizuki stares at him. "Date, you are a horrible parent. You once forgot me at the grocery store."
Date pouts. This is a full grown man, pouting. "I used to tell you bedtime stories!"
"What are you -" Mizuki pauses. "Are you talking about the murder cases you'd tell me about? When I was 11?"
Date nods excitedly. "Yes! See? Good dad!"
"I think you should kill yourself Date."

"Right, so, remind me again why I'm here?" Mizuki mutters, checking out the bar she's just entered. It's not shady per se, but it's definitely not where she'd go to get a drink.
A clatter draws her attention and she hurries over to the source. Staring at her fellow Psyncer who is currently on the floor face down, Mizuki nudges him with her foot. "Hey, Ryuki?"
Ryuki rolls over and squints at her. "Mr Date...?"
"Mr Dat- oh hell no! I am definitely not that creep." Mizuki frowns. "Listen, I'm not hanging around here any longer than necessary, I don't care if Boss yells at me. So your options are, you either get up or I drag you by the foot out of this door, and I'm pretty sure I saw someone pee there earlier, so."
The puddle on the floor groans. "Mmnoooo… don'wanna go hooooome…"
"Okay, well, sounds mostly like a you problem, so -"
Suddenly, Ryuki sits up. "'Zuki? Mizuki. Mee-zooooooo-kee. Haha." Then he bursts into tears. "I am here," he sobs.
Sighing, Mizuki grabs his foot. "Oookay, let's get outta here."
—
"...so in conclusion, that is why I think I should get a pay raise," Mizuki finishes with a flourish.
Boss stares at her, then laughs. And laughs. And laughs. "Mizuki, if I thought a pay raise was even remotely possible with our budget, I would give the first one to myself for dealing with all three of you. The second pay raise would go to Pewter for being the sanest person in the room."
Mizuki raises an eyebrow. *Didn't Pewter go to jail for helping a convict escape prison?"
"Yeah." Boss does not elaborate.
Slumping, Mizuki groans. "Why do I have to put up with those idiots all day? I swear I'm going to start finding gray hairs soon!"
Boss pats her back. "Welcome to the club, kid."
Mizuki groans again.
