Summary
Stede makes a soft whimper of a sound. He’s struggling to form words, but he doesn’t need to, not really; Ed understands, even without them.
The next strike from his small whip spreads across Stede’s shoulders, right over the thick meat of him, and he jerks in his bounds. His arms yank; the tension in his upper arms, near his shoulders, pulls, and it feels so good that he just keeps pulling at it, wanting more of that exquisite burn.
When he gets struck again, he writhes in his bindings, twisting sharply to one side against the tight wrap about his wrist, and his shoulder gives with a harsh crack-pop, the right socket losing its hold and dislocating from itself, snapping apart.
Stede’s eyes fly open, shooting pains rocketing up through his arm, a cry falling from his lips.
