Swimming was something Lumine found helped her relax, the first time Verr Goldet had suggested she tried it she nearly laughed in her face. After all Lumine saw it as something that was anything but relaxing considering you had to constantly make sure you don’t accidentally drown. Though with the desperation to try cure her constant insomnia she was willing to try it.
But sure enough once she tried it she understood the appeal. Of course Lumine had gone swimming before but that was mainly to try cross a lake quicker or had to get to a certain point for a commission. Nothing just for leisurely relaxation after all she barely has time to relax as it is.
Verr Goldet had recommended her a small lake that was far enough of a random path that no one would bother her at. Lumine took the recommendation and went to scope it out, it was as nice as she had told her even nicer if she was being honest. What she didn’t tell her that it had a small waterfall attached to it, it was absolutely beautiful. It was a pretty hidden gem among Liyue's scenery.
Before Lumine had left she had put on a swimming costume under her dress, usually if it was just a quick swim she would just keep her dress on and use anemo to dry herself but it was rather uncomfortable for long periods of time. Though she was happy with herself that she managed to find a costume with her signature colours it was a rare find considering most were black.
Lumine folded her clothes putting them on a nearby rock, heading over to the edge of the lake she peered into the water. The water was rather clear and relatively shallow apart from the middle part which dipped down a bit deeper. Lumine braced herself for a shock of cold that crawled up her spine but it never came the water was surprisingly warm.
She was starting to realize why boss lady had recommended this place. It was relaxing to her muscles the warmth of the water mixed with the fact she was floating on nothing. Lumine decided she could spend forever like this and she wouldn’t feel cheated out of her life, it would actually be a great way to spend her time. Although she realized after a while she would look like a shrivelled grape.
Another reason was that she would get lonely she doubts Xiao would be up to spending the rest of his existence floating around with her. Lumine knows her husband he would only manage a day before he was off again, she was lucky most days if she could get him to relax for an hour.
With the thought of Xiao plaguing her mind again she decided the next best thing to do was to call him. It couldn’t hurt to try getting him to join her, after all he did remind her on multiple occasions that he would do anything for her. Though she was pretty sure he meant in the fighting sense and not dragging him into a lake to swim/float about. It couldn’t hurt to try though since the worst that could happen is that he rolls his eyes at her and leaves, its not like he could disappear forever they were bound together both in the legal sense and the love sense.
Deciding to give into her impulsions she stood up and called his name, “Xiao”
Sure enough within seconds he arrive in a flash of teal and black, he looked around then at her and raised an eyebrow, “What have I told you about calling me over nothing?”
“What am I not allowed to miss you?” She pouted before realizing he was blushing ever so slightly, after all this time she still made him blush, “Care to join me?”
Xiao snapped his head back to her from whatever he was looking at before, “Lumine” He gave her a look along the lines of ‘be serious’.
“What?” She played innocence, “I’m lonely” She loved the way she could wind him up like a toy, apart from travel it was her favourite thing to do.
“I can’t come in wearing this” He pointed to his clothes as if that was a good enough reason for her to stop. (It was not)
Lumine rolled her eyes waving her hand in the air, “Just come in, in your underwear its nothing I haven’t seen before” That made Xiao go as red as a tomato but made him cave at the same time, Lumine nearly laughed but managed to hold it in.
Lumine held her hand out to him pulling him to her side, “Thank you” She gave him a quick peck on the lips which made him smile, “Isn’t it nice” She used her free hand to feel the water.
“It’s...pleasant” He agreed as Lumine rested her head on his shoulder, it was a perk of being similar height.
“I hope I didn’t pull you away from anything important” Lumine rested her chin on his shoulder looking up at him, he caught her eyes giving her a smile. He leaned down giving her a proper kiss instead of the small peck she did earlier.
He pulled away, “You didn’t” he answered before pulling her in by her waist so her body was against his and gave her a deeper kiss. Lumine sighed into it, when she called him here this was something she had thought about them doing but had guessed it wouldn’t happen. Not that she was complaining by any means.
She would happily kiss him senseless any time or day of the week it was just that technically speaking this was a public space. Xiao while he was occasionality affectionate in public places it was usually a small thing such as holding her had or standing ridiculously close, not kissing her senseless while both of them were practically in their underwear.
“You are being awfully affectionate today” She teased pulling away, “What did you do” She smirked raising an eyebrow.
“Why do I have to have done something to kiss you” He acted offended before smirking back at her. Lumine laughed lightly pushing herself on his shoulders and wrapping her legs around his waist, her hands holding onto the side of his head.
She rested her forehead on his looking right into his eyes, “I’m glad you joined me swimming”
Xiao narrowed his eyes at her, “We haven’t done any swimming” He reminded her rather bluntly.
“I hate you” She joked lovingly smiling at him.
