Hermione Granger sat alone in the Hogwarts courtyard, soaking up the sunlight as she watched all of the younger years were passing on through the courtyard towards their lessons, the majority of them definitely worried about being late. Like she used to be when she was that age. She leaned her back against the tree as she slowly opened up the book that she had bought with her from home, the one thing that she had requested for Christmas from her parents. Hermione sighed, rather loudly, as she flicked through the rough book pages, getting angrier and angrier at herself for thinking that all of this was a good idea. Why had she requested this book? This wasn't really a good idea at all. It was so stupid of her to think that she could believe in herself like this.
"What you reading there, Granger?" Draco spoke out loudly, striding across the courtyard and finally settled down beside Hermione, leaning his back hard against the tree and quickly grabbing the book from her books. He stares at the front cover, and Hermione noticed that his stupid dark brows were furrowed as he looked over the cover. "HOW TO DRAW?" Draco read out, his posh voice laced tight with confusion. He turned his face towards Hermione, holding tightly onto the book so she couldn't steal it back even if it was hers.
"Icannotdraw!" Hermione mumbled, fed up with being disturbed, frowning at herself as all of the words strung together as she stared back at Draco. She sighed, blinking a couple of times and clearing her mind before speaking once again. "I cannot draw, and I want to teach myself and learn the skill. All of the Gryffindors have been judging me because of it." Hermione sighed once again, looking away from Draco Malfoy and his overwhelming slate grey eyes, before looking towards the distance where she found herself spacing out. She was still annoyed with herself for feeling so pathetic, especially with Malfoy now finding out. Another reason for the man to hate her.
"I could teach you," Draco uttered the words, breaking Hermione away from her daydreams. She wips her head around and looks at Draco in shock.
"You can draw?!" Hermione was close to screaming in shock. "You, Draco Malfoy, can draw?" Hermione reasked her question as she found herself still staring at the boy.
Draco nodded, smirking at Hermione. "Mother wanted me to have a wide range of skills when I was younger, to be the best Pureblood student there was. I was given drawing lessons, piano lessons, violin lessons, and a smattering of other lessons for other things too." Draco spoke, staring at Hermione. "So, do you want the lessons?" Draco questioned.
"Only if you are sure, Malfoy." Hermione shrugged.
"I will only do the lessons if you call me Draco." He smirked, raising his eyebrows.
There was a beat between the two of them, the last remaining first-year students loudly running towards their classrooms already too late. Hermione sighed, rolling her eyes at the blond.
"Fine. Draco, I will take you up on the lessons." Hermione shrugged, holding out her hand. "But only if I can have my book back. Please." She smiled, standing up and keeping her hand out in front of her. Draco stood back up, staring at her hand and then back at her face. He smirked, walking away with the book.
"See you tomorrow, Granger. Meet me at the library for your first lesson!" Draco called out, waving her book above his head as he walked away and out of the courtyard, leaving Hermione alone and wondering what the fuck had just happened.
