━━━━━━━━━

Hermione Granger and Pansy Parkinson’s recent engagement was celebrated with a party to end all parties. It was being held in one of the larger rooms at the local country club for the quickest put-together celebration that anyone had ever done. Everyone important in Hermione Granger and Pansy Parkinson’s lives was in attendance today. Close friends and family come together to celebrate the two young people in their engagement. Hermione’s parents, Jean and Richard Granger had put everything all together for this celebration, and they were excited to spend the day celebrating their amazing daughter, even if Hermione’s engagement had come as a little bit of a surprise and Pansy wasn’t really Jean and Richard’s first choice of a life partner for their only daughter. But they were happy for her regardless, because as long as Hermione was happy then they were both happy.

The party room was buzzing with high energy, everyone was sitting around circular tables and conversating with each other, Hermione and Pansy sat together, glasses in hand, with Pansy’s parents, Persephone and Cassius Parkinson, and Hermione’s parents had moved away from the table, clearing walking towards the small stage that was present for everyone to see. Richard cleared his throat, clinking his knife against his champagne glass, needing everyone’s direct attention on him right at that moment.

“I would like to welcome everyone and congratulate my daughter, Hermione.” Richard stepped forward and warmly greeted everyone while he stood up on the centre stage, smiling down at everyone. His smile grew larger as he made direct eye contact with his daughter. The entire engagement party erupts into applause, smiling and cheering for Hermione, who seemed a slight bit embarrassed about being the centre of everyone’s attention, something she really didn’t like and was definitely more Pansy’s things. “On— on her wonderful choice of a life partner, Pansy Parkinson.” Hermione’s father continued speaking, raising his glass and smiling now at both, Hermione and Pansy. Everyone around them starts clapping and cheering again, the applause getting louder and louder, bouncing around the room.

“My darling husband and I would also like to welcome Pansy’s parents, Persephone and Cassius Parkinson, into our wonderful family.” Hermione’s mother, Jean, warmly welcomed everyone in the room, she was always amazing at getting the attention of a room and holding the attention, as she smiled out at the crowd. She loved this. “Would everyone please stand and let us raise a glass to toast to the future of Hermione and Pansy Granger-Parkinson.” Jean raises her champagne glass above the room and smiles warmly toward her daughter and her new life partner. Pansy and Hermione smiled at each other, sipping from their drinks before whispering words to each other, which made the both of them laugh quietly. Clearly an inside joke about Hermione’s mother calling Pansy the “life partner”.

“Hear, hear!” Everyone cheered loudly, raising their glasses above their heads and cheering for their two friends, Hermione and Pansy. They all clinked their glasses together, before sipping and moving around the room to converse with each other. Pansy stands up, excusing herself from her parents and her partner before walking away from them and moving towards the drinks table. She seems a bit uncomfortable, usually loving and lapping up the attention.

“Got anything stronger than this?” Pansy questioned the female bartender, smiling and staring down at the glasses that were laying across the table, all filled either with expensive white wine or fancy champagne. She looked back up towards the bartender, scanning her face as her smile grew larger.

“Only wine and champagne.” The bartender replied, refilling more of the glasses with champagne for the waiters to serve around to the party guests. She smiled at the waiters before smiling largely at Pansy. The two start talking with each other, smiling and laughing with each other.

Jean and Richard walk back over to the table with her daughter and kissed her on the cheeks in celebration. She smiles at her parents, excusing herself from the table, leaving her parents and Pansy’s parents to converse with each other. Hermione smiles to herself, taking her glass off the table and turning around. She moves around, spotting Pansy opposite, noticing she is standing still with the bartender.

“You know, Pansy didn’t even let me really congratulate her yet.” Pansy’s ex-boyfriend, Draco Malfoy, taps Hermione on the shoulder and tells her. The two of them glance over at Pansy and the bartender, and Draco gives Hermione a knowing look. They had recently just had a conversation together about Pansy flirting with everyone she sees and being an overly flirty person anyways.

“Where did you get this necklace?” Pansy asks, leaning over the table and reaching for the necklace that the bartender was wearing. She smiled, winking at the bartender and moving closer across the table to look closer at the necklace.

“Oh, just downtown.” The bartender replied, looking up at Pansy as she watched the raven-haired woman play with the necklace. The bartender reached to pour more drinks but couldn’t reach across properly because Pansy was still playing with the necklace.

Hermione turned towards Draco, half smiling but he knew that she was pissed, “could you excuse me for just a minute?” She sternly muttered before walking toward Pansy.

Hermione saw red as Hermione got closer and closer to the bar, she could hear Pansy’s flirtatious laughter echoing around the room and in her mind. She grabs Pansy, who has another drink in her hand and pulls her away from the bartender.

“Excuse us just for a second.” Hermione sternly spoke towards the bartender, dragging Pansy away from the bar and the woman she was clearly flirting with. She stared at Pansy, raising her eyebrows up in question.

“Hi, baby! Hi!” Pansy’s flirtatious voice rang out as she stared back at Hermione, not knowing what her partner was trying to indicate was going on. “What’s up?” Pansy continued, asking and questioning Hermione as to why she was dragged away from the nice bartender.

“What the hell are you doing?” Hermione wanted to scream out at Pansy but didn’t because she didn’t want to ruin their engagement party. She stared at her, waiting for Pansy to tell the truth.

“What? We were just talking.” Pansy’s voice raised above the gentle hum that was buzzing around the party. She shrugged her shoulders, acting as if what the two were doing was genuinely just talking even though Hermione knew that Pansy knew that she was clearly flirting with that bartender.

“Right.” Hermione sighed loudly, shrugging her shoulders, copying the movement that Pansy had done.

“Pookie, we were just talking,” Pansy repeated, saying the pet name that Hermione hated and the pet name that Hermione and Draco had only talked together about recently. She stared at Pansy, repeating her words in her mind. Just talking? Just talking.

“Pansy, please, do not do this today,” Hermione replied, her voice coming out in a monotone sort of way. She was pissed. Pansy could tell that she was pissed but the woman didn’t understand why Hermione was so pissed, she hadn’t done anything to warrant her partner being angry at her.

“Excuse me, sir, can you hold this please?” Pansy asks a man standing next to her, before handing her glass to the same man. She frowned before turning back towards Hermione and Pansy glared. “You know what, little  Miss Russell Group? I can’t take much more of this. This obsessive-compulsive, control-freak paranoia.” Pansy continued, her hands moving to land against her hips as she stared at Hermione, raising her eyebrows at her and looking down at Hermione.

“What?” Hermione muttered, not understanding where Pansy was going with all of this and just looked up at Pansy with confusion written over her face.

“I didn’t pierce my nipples because it grossed you out,” Pansy spoke the words directly towards Hermione’s chest, it was now her turn to be pissed at the woman. “I didn’t stay at the Kink Club last night because you wanted to go home.” Pansy continued going off at Hermione.

“You flirted with the woman in rubber.” Hermione’s voice raised, almost shouting the accusation at Pansy. She stared at the woman, raising her eyebrows at Pansy.

“There will always be women in rubber flirting with me,” Pansy spoke louder, getting louder and louder which grabs the attention of basically everyone at the engagement party, especially their group of friends who started muttering with each other. They stared over at Hermione and Pansy, not sure of what was happening or going on between the two. “Give me a break.” Pansy continued, her voice not wavering to quiet down.

Pansy moved away from Hermione, she was too angry at what she was accusing Pansy of doing, her voice wavering as she stared at her life partner.

“Every single day I walk down the street, I hear people say ‘baby’s so sweet’. Every since puberty, everybody stares at me. Boys, girls, I can’t help it, baby. So be kind. And don’t lose your mind, just remember that I’m your baby.” Pansy sang out, walking over towards the ice sculpture that was in the room and staring around the crowd.

Pansy winked at their group of friends before continuing on. “Take me for what I am! Who I was meant to be. And if you give a damn. Take me, baby, or leave me. Take me baby or leave me.” Pansy sang out, moving around the room as her voice continued carrying out around the large country club room. Pansy moved out of the country club room before walking up the stairs. Hermione and their group of friends walked fastly after her, Hermione watched Pansy tightly as she moved.

“A tiger in a cage can never see the sun.” Pansy sang, smiling at Hermione and their group of friends. “This diva needs her stage, baby let’s have fun!” Pansy cheered and sang out towards the crowd, raising her arms out. Their best friends laughed with each other, smiling back at Pansy.

Hermione walked up the stairs, joining Pansy at where she was standing. She just stared at her singing. Hermione raised her eyebrows.

“You are the one I choose, folks would kill to fill your shoes.” Pansy walked closer, smiling at Hermione before placing her hands on her body. She smiled before continuing to sing and touch Hermione’s body. “You love the limelight too now baby. So, be mine and don’t waste my time. Crying oh honey bear are you still my my my baby.” Pansy sang, smirking at Hermione.

“Don’t you dare,” Hermione joined in, singing and shaking her head at Pansy. The words left her mouth sternly, hitting Pansy’s chest.

“Take me for what I am, who I was meant to be. And if you give a damn, take me baby or leave me.” Pansy sang, staring at Hermione before staring back down towards their friendship group which was crowding around the bottom of the stairway. “No way can I be what I’m not. But hey, don’t you want your girl hot?” Pansy sang out loudly, her arms swinging out as she moved her eyesight back towards Hermione.

Hermione’s eyebrows raised, her eyes seeing red as she glared at Pansy. Hermione wanted to say something but Pansy just continued to sing out towards her partner and their friends.

“Don’t fight. Don’t lose your head. Cause every night who’s in your bed? Who? Who’s in your bed.” Pansy got on her knees, staring up at Hermione, moving her hands up towards Hermione’s body as she smirked at her. “Kiss pookie,” Pansy smirked, kissing her teeth as she looked up at Hermione.

“It won’t work.” Hermione’s singing voice rang out. She stared down at Pansy, who was still kneeling down and looking up at Hermione. She smiled before continuing. “I look before I leap. I love margins and discipline. I make lists in my sleep, baby.” Hermione walked down the stairs, smiling down at her friends.

She looked behind towards upstairs and Pansy had finally moved from kneeling and was watching Hermione sing out loudly.

“What’s my sin? Never quit, I follow through. I hate mess but I love you.” Hermione sang out as she stared at Pansy, who was now standing on the same level as Hermione. She sang every word to her life partner. “What to do with my impromptu, baby? So be wise, cause this girl satisfies.” Hermione continued singing towards Pansy. “You got the prize, so don’t compromise. You’re one lucky baby!” She sang louder before moving away and slowly walking down the stairs again.

“Take me for what I am!” Hermione sang, staring at her friends and ignoring the movements of Pansy that she could hear behind her.

“Control freak,” Pansy spoke, staring at the back of Hermione’s head as the both of them continued, almost arguing through the song.

“Who I was meant to be.” Hermione continued singing.

“Snob yet over attentive,” Pansy muttered.

“And if you give a damn.” Hermione sang.

“Lovable droll, geek.” Pansy sternly said, spewing the words at the back of Hermione’s head.

“Take me baby or leave me.” Hermione sang.

“An anal retentive.” Pansy spat at her life partner before they both turned on each other.

“That’s it.” The both of them sing at each other.

“The straw that breaks my back.” Hermione sang, shouting at Pansy as they both glared daggers at each other. She saw red as the words grew louder and angrier. They both blinked together before the words started coming out again.

“I quit.” Hermione and Pansy sang together, staring at each other as their voices grew louder, drawing the attention of everyone else in attendance at their engagement party, specifically their parents.

“Unless you take it back.” Hermione sang, ignoring the presence of her parents, who were now staring at her.

“Women, what is it about them?” Pansy replied, staring at her parents before turning towards Hermione, whose eyes remained on her partner.

“Can’t live, with them or without them.” The both of them sang together, Pansy and Hermione staring at each other. “Take me for what I am.” Pansy and Hermione continued singing. Both of them ignore the looming presence of all their family and friends, except their friendship group.

“Who I was meant to be.” Hermione’s voice was getting angrier.

“Who I was meant to be.” Pansy imitated what Hermione was saying. “And if you give a damn.” Pansy continued, smirking at Hermione.

“And if you give a damn.” Hermione continued her singing, ignoring Pansy and everyone else, just pretending to be in her own world. “Take me, baby.” Hermione continued singing.

“Oh, take me, baby!” Pansy’s flirtatious side came out as she sang, staring at Hermione and smirking harder as her voice rang out.

“Or leave me.” Hermione’s voice sang the words sternly.

“Take me or leave me.” Pansy continued singing the words towards Hermione, who still wasn’t giving her the time anymore.

“Take me, baby. Or leave me.” They both sang, and now Hermione was staring at Pansy as they both got angrier. “Guess I’m leaving. I’m gone.” Pansy and Hermione sang the words out, defining each letter with anger and pain before walking away in opposite directions.
