"Flit"
Keith loved watching his mate flit about their garden. Being a water fey meant that Lance was a wonderful gardener, whereas Keith was concerned about setting the entire thing ablaze. Though, he loved being in the sunlight as it was warm like the fire he could control, which was why he found himself in the garden watching his mate.
Lance knew Keith was a little uncomfortable in the garden but appreciated that his mate wanted to be near him. Normally fey of opposite elements did not become mates, but Keith and Lance felt drawn to each other since they were little.
Their families didn't live next to each other, but Keith's family had gone to the beach one day and Keith met Lance, who was an energetic water fey who only had minimal control over the element due to his age. Keith was the same way, so he was able to assure Lance that they'll be able to show off their respective talents when they learned more control. If they tried now, they could accidentally hurt each other as their elements were direct opposites of each other. Lance definitely didn't want to hurt the fey he felt connected to.
The two fey were able to convince their families to let them visit each other, and as they grew, they got to know one another. When they were old enough to live on their own, they knew they would want to live together but also knew that they should do a trial run. They spent the summer at Keith's family's summer home, getting to know each other on a more intimate level.
When the summer was over, the two fey knew they definitely wanted to live together forever. Keith's family offered them the opportunity to stay in the family's summer home, and Keith and Lance accepted. The summer home was closer to the beach than the volcano that Keith would one day learn to control, but the heat of the sun made it pleasant for Keith. The first thing Lance did was to set up the garden, giving them an outdoor location they could spend time together.

Lance tended the garden and was starting to sweat, but he wasn't quite done yet. Keith noticed this and fluttered over with a small towel to mop up the sweat. He gently wiped the towel over his mate's forehead and neck.
"Mmm. Thanks." Lance tilted his head back.
"Anytime." Keith pressed against Lance's back and planted a gentle kiss on his mate's lips, enjoying the warmth of their bodies pressed against each other.
