"Fey and Wolf Shifters"
Keith had been out flying, enjoying the feeling of the wind beneath his wings and the heat of the sun on his wings. As much as Keith loved flying alone, he much preferred to fly with his mate, but Lance was back at their house, doing some gardening. Keith never helped with the gardening as he was afraid that he would burn the plants, since he was a fire fey. Lance was a water fey and had an affinity for growing plants.
He hadn't been paying attention to where he was going and ended up in a more wooded area than where he and Lance lived. He landed on a lower branch of a nearby tree to rest. He wasn't a distance flyer; he was built more for fast flying.
A growl drew his attention. He turned around and was met with a couple of wolves. He didn't recognize either one and didn't know if he could escape both. However, before he could even attempt to escape, another wolf jumped between him and the others. Keith smiled as he recognized this wolf. This wolf was white with a scar across his nose. It was his adopted brother, Shiro, who was a wolf shifter.
Shiro shifted back to human, and to Keith's surprise, the others did too. One was a fair skinned brunette and the other was a darker skinned brunette. Keith flutterred to stand next to Shiro. "Who are they, Shiro?"
"These are my mates, Adam and Curtis."
"Shiro, do you know this fey?" Curtis asked.
"Yes. This is my adopted brother, Keith."
"Sorry for growling at you. We didn't recognize you," Adam apologized.
"It's okay. I usually don't wander this far," Keith replied. "I should be on my way. Lance will probably be worried."
Shiro wrapped his arms around Keith. "Please stop by again soon. I miss you."
"I'll try." Keith hugged Shiro back.
"Bring Lance with you next time."
"Sure. I'll see you guys later." Keith took off and flew home, landing lightly in the garden where Lance was still working.
The wind from Keith landing caught Lance's attention, and he smiled. "Hey, Keith."
Keith walked over and wrapped his arms around the other fey. "Hey, Lance."
"Missed me that much?"
"Yes."
