WHAT DOESNT KILL ME | Mike Ross x Harvey Specter

Summary:

Whumptober 2022: Mike only has 62,899,200 seconds left until he sees Harvey again

Work Text:

It was hard to sleep. Even though Mike had been sent to a white-collared prison, and he knew that Harvey would do anything in his power to keep him safe, it was hard to close his eyes and relax. Gallo had already left Mike on edge but as hard as he tried, he couldn't help but worry about what would come next.

The bed was solid and brought no comfort, and the nauseous feeling of dread that filled his veins didn't pushed him further towards the edge. The feeling came everytime he thought of Harvey. And it never left because all of Mike was devoted to the man he was supposed to marry.

So he spent his night alone, laying on the cold slab of a bed, not daring to close his eyes, incase he lost himself in a memory because it would hurt more when he would have to push it aside and face another day.

But even if he refused to indulge himself reminiscing on the life he had, his body still remembered. It yearned for the warm, plush, and ridiculously expensive sheets Harvey insisted on buying, or the security of Harvey's tender embrace.

Harvey wasn't an open book. He had spent twenty years building up impenetrable walls, portraying himself as a self-centred asshole who never seemed to lose. And he still was those things, anyone he considered a friend would testify that, but Mike knew the Harvey beyond those things. He knew the tenderness of his touch, the way he would gently sway to music only he could here, but most of all, only Mike knew the way that Harvey loved him.

Their love was all-consuming. It was with Mike every waking second, grueling minute and sleepless hour of the day. And it would be until he was released. Harvey would wait for Mike, and Mike would wait for him. And no matter how he phrased it, 104 weeks, 728 days, 17,472 hours, 1,048,320 minutes, or 62,899,200 seconds.

But for now, all Mike could do was lay his cot and try to sleep because after all, how long could 62,899,199 more seconds be?
