Aether practically melted and landed on the ground after speaking to Katheryne. Not paying attention to anything around him and just taking in the quiet of Mondstadt.
“Oh dear! Are you alright?” Katheryne asks. Paimon looked at her funny and was about to say something then remembered to keep it shut as to not reveal that they learned something interesting about her.
“Yeah yeah just…need a minute or two.” Aether hums. Not paying any mind to the two knights that ran past them. Even as Paimon and Katheryne spoke he didn’t listen. Closing his eyes and leaning back on the wall behind him.
“Kaeya! Perfect timing!”
That didn’t last long.
Springing back up with the sudden burst of energy- Aether almost tackles Kaeya down as he hugs him tightly around the waist, burying his face into his chest.
“Oh my! Hello there my Outlander.” Kaeya laughs and laughs more when he’s lifted up, having his legs wrapped around Aether’s waist.
“Paimon we’ll be in the teapot if you need us.” Aether says.
“But-!”
Paimon watches as the two disappeared in a flash of light before she can even say anything else.

Kaeya knows he should stop this. He knows the Knights are going to wonder where he is and he knows for damn sure Jean is going to lecture him about missing the reading of Grand Master Varka’s letter.
But being carried off and then practically tossed onto a bed before being pounced on- he didn’t care. He did not care.
When Aether got like this, kissing and biting and borderline almost ripping Kaeya’s clothes off him-acting like a starving beast that caught its first prey in months- Kaeya didn’t have the mindset to care about anything else.
“Missed you.” Aether’s voice brought Kaeya back into the moment. The Captain’s arms wrap around Aether’s shoulders, smiling as he feels more kisses on his skin.
“I missed you too. Very much. It feels like you’ve been gone for ages.” Kaeya whispers, taking notes of the new scars on Aether’s body. “And it seems like you’ve been through a lot.”
“Mm.” Aether hums. “But I don’t want to focus on that. All I wanna do is you feel after being away.”
“Now that sounds wonderful.” Kaeya snickers.

“There you are!” Jean marches over to Kaeya, giving Aether a quick greeting before huffing at the Captain. “Where have you been? You missed the Grand Master’s letter!”
“Oh please, Jean. I’m sure missing one letter isn’t that big of a deal.” Kaeya shrugs.
“It is! Nothing may not have happened but it’s still important regardless! Where were you?”
“Nowhere.” Kaeya hums.
“Kaeya!”
“Jean!”
The Acting Grand Master rubs her temples as the Captain snickers at her understandable frustration. Lisa and Paimon walk over and the little fairy flew to her friend and explained what she had heard.
“Oh there you are. Paimon came rushing over and told us you two had disappeared.” Lisa gave the two of them a once over and giggled. “Seems something else was far more important than a letter.”
“See? Lisa gets it.” Kaeya smiled. Jean stares at him before looking to Lisa who in return simply points at her own neck then gestures to Kaeya. The Acting Grand Master fell silent as she stares before huffing.
“Sorry I kept him from you.” Aether finally spoke up and Jean holds her hand up.
“If he was with you then I suppose it’s alright.” Jean mutters.
“That’s our Jean. So generous!”
“OKAY moving on!”
