Chapter Text
Leah didn’t think much of it at the time.
She found a bunch of weird seeds and as any young child would do, she planted them.
As a child, she didn’t find it weird that it grew to a log when she should have questioned how that works, especially if the log was black.
She didn’t know why she kept that log, maybe it she was intrigued by it or maybe it was something else but she kept that log for years, even after having Libby.
Speaking of Libby, her five-year-old daughter found that log and she wants to carve it into a animal. How could she say no to that?
She let Libby watch her carve the log into a crow. The next morning, Libby started crying about the statue going missing.
Then the strangest thing happened.
An actual crow shows up and starts comforting Libby. Leah has no idea how that bird got into the book store but her daughter got attached to it and she can’t get rid of it now.
The crow was really weird. While she’s glad that it’s protective of Libby as her little miracle grows up, the bird is extremely attached to her.
Yet she didn’t think too much of it.
Until the tranmissions were proven real.
Leah looks at the crow that has been living with her for years.
She reached out her arm to it…
And it turned into a staff.
