Chapter Text
Having a missing brother is never fun, and Leo didn't truly know how panic inducing it was until his own brother went missing.
The youngest of the turtles had been missing for six days, Donnie was failing to track down his phone no matter how much he tried it would show up in random areas.
Leo knew that if Donnie couldn't find Mikey then there would be little hope, but he didn't want to think like that. If Donnie couldn't track him then Leo would portal around to try and find his little brother.
Leo could tell Donnie was gonna over work himself to try and fix the tracker, he would probably intervene soon. Raph on the other hand, Leo had barely seen him in the lair, he had been out and trying to find the box turtle.
So Leo decided that taking a quick relaxing night would be good for everyone, he had to fill in Mikey's role as the team support while keeping himself from having a breakdown.
Although Leo was close to a breakdown, which is part of the reason he wanted a relaxing night. Leo had gotten a Ouija board a while ago so why not try and contact some ghosts!
Leo was currently working on making his room nice and spooky for contacting the other world, which would most likely just be him moving the thing.
Leo finally finished with all the decorations, ran over to his door, opened it and started walking towards the kitchen. Raph was most likely eating something to eat and Leo needed to ask before Raph left the lair.
The red eared slider got into the kitchen and looked at Raph who was eating a sandwich while sitting at the table looking at the fridge, which of course held a lot of Mikey's art.
"Hey Raph, wanna hang out with me and Donnie in my room for a bit?" Leo asked the snapping turtle. He was hoping that Raph would say yes, because everyone just needed a break.
Raph sighed "I guess that would be nice" the older sat up and started heading towards Leo's room.
"I'll go get Donnie!" The blue bandana wearing turtle exclaimed heading for Donnie's lab next.
Leo knew his twin would be harder to convince, Donnie after all had been the one to overwork himself before now. With Mikey missing though, he had barely left his lab at all.
Leo opened the door to the lab "hey Donnie wanna hangout with me and Raph, we all need a relaxing night or something!" The red eared slider offered to the soft shell who was sitting at his desk.
"I have work to do Leo. We need to find Mikey." Donnie responded, not looking over at Leo.
Leonardo sighed "I think Mikey would want you to take a break, also you might start hallucinating again if you keep staying up."
Donnie glared at the sword user before standing up "I'm only doing this so I don't hallucinate and I'll go back to working after tonight. Got it Nardo?"
Leo nodded as a response and went back to his room, the softshell being behind him.
Once inside of his room Leo closed the door and took a seat around the ouija board "so I thought for fun we could do some ghosty questions!"
"An ouija board? Really Leo?" Donnie said, unimpressed by his twin's antics.
"It will be fun! Now what are the instructions?" Leo muttered the last bit, pulling out his phone to look it up. "Okay we need someone for the questions apparently?" Leo said looking up to his two brothers.
"I volunteer, knowing this will go nowhere." Donnie spoke up.
Leo nodded as he finished reading the online instructions "place your fingers on the planchette" Leo instructed, placing his on fingers on to it, brothers doing so soon after.
"I wonder if this will actually work" Raph said looking at Leo.
"Who knows! Maybe we will get haunted!" Leo laughed a bit "now next up we have to move the planchette in a few circles on the board."
"This probably won't work my crazy twin." Donnie said moving his fingers with everyone else as instructed by Leo.
Leo focused on the board "okay now stop and Donnie ask a simple question!" Leo looked at his softshell brother.
Donnie rolled his eyes "are there any ghosts here who would like to talk with us" Donnie asked the board. The planchette moved to yes "Leo don't move it!"
Leo looked up at Raph "well that wasn't me! Did you move it Raph?" Leo asked the alligator snapping turtle.
Raph shook his head before Donnie spoke again "Leo you obviously moved it!"
"Can you just ask another question Donnie?!" Leo glared at his brother.
"Fine." Donnie looked back at the planchette which they moved back to the middle of the board "are you an evil spirit?" Donnie asked out to what was probably Leo moving it.
The planchette moved over to no rather quickly. "Okay that's good to know" Raph said happily, the snapping turtle didn't believe in ghosts but if he was gonna talk to one it would be best for it to be a nice one.
"You should ask for its name!" Leo suggested as they moved the planchette back to the middle.
Donnie sighed "that's a dumb question, what if it has a really long name? How about instead we ask something else."
"What about we ask how old it is!" Raph suggests.
"The name is a reasonable thing to ask!" Leo argued, how was he wrong! Leo knew that the name would be a good thing to know!
All the sudden some pencils fell on the floor from a pencil holder Leo had on a shelf, this caused the room to go dead silent.
Raph was the first to speak "just ask the name?" He said eyes slowly leaving the fallen pencils.
"Yeah- okay" Donnie also turned his attention to the board again "what is your name?" He asked.
The red eared slider keep note of all the letters that got spelled out.

The three brothers looked at eachother, surely it was just a coincidence right? Just the same name as their little brother who had recently gone missing.
"Spirits can.. fake names of people you might trust, Mikey is still alive! We can't actually believe the ghost..!" Leo took a deep breath, he wouldn't even try to imagine his little brother dead.
Raph slowly nodded "should we stop playing..?" The oldest seemed worried.
"No, no, let's keep playing. I'm actually interested in where this is going" Donnie said to the other two.
Leo took a moment, Donnie, like Donnie Donnie! Wanting to talk to the ghosts? He was really shocked by this.
"I have a question for you to ask Donnie, ask why the ghost is pretending to be Mikey" Raph mentioned a good question.
Donnie looked at Raph a few seconds before looking back at the planchette with a swift nod "why are you trying to impersonate our brother?"
The planchette slowly moved around the board, not landing on any letters for a good bit, although soon enough the ghost started to spell things out.

The planchette stopped for a second.

Raph growled a bit "no you're not! Our brother isn't dead, stop pretending to be him!"
The planchette didn't move for a few silent seconds before moving slowly across the board.

It was spelled out.

It stopped moving, silence staying in the room for longer.
"We should stop. I don't like this ghost impersonating Mikey." Leo said looking at the other two, he didn't know why the ghost would even do that.
The planchette started moving in circles around the board very quickly, almost like in a panic?
Leo took note of this, being slightly scared but he knew not to remove his hand from planchette.
Donnie falters, taking his hand off the planchette, Raph also doing so causing Leo to look at them in panic, taking off his own hand.
A drawing made by Mikey fell off the wall onto the board, Leo took a sharp breath "we just invited a random spirit who was pretending to be Mikey into our house.."
