Summary
Part 1 of The Most Dangerous Thing (Is To Love), or the wholesome Maygrove ship you didn't know you needed.
A series of one-shots following the development of a relationship between Billy and Max - starting from their first meeting in California and into Hawkins years - that runs the gamut from antagonistic to platonic to extremely smutty and evolves into more of a narrative as it progresses. This is a different take on Max and Billy than in Separate Ways, but is again more of an unconventional love story vs. any sort of pseudo-sibling kink. Max is only 1 year younger than Billy (and the Hawkins boys are correspondingly older); changes to canonical events once they get to Hawkins (Chapter 33). Significant creative license taken with both characters' backstories; they meet in their teen years, so they still feel very much like strangers thrown together. Chapter 46 is a SPOILER CHAPTER with chapter summaries and a playlist!
