I am content with who I am.
But I do not remember who I am.
I know my name,
Its Rui Kamishiro.
But why don't I remember my origin, or how I got here?
...Maybe im cursed.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Rui?" A muffled voice called out, "Rui!"
Rui slowly opened his eyes, being met with a pure white ceiling.
"RUI!" The voice called out again, making it sound like whoever's voice that was, was on the verge of tears. "GUYS, RUI IS AWAKE!"
I guess there are multiple people here. But why? For me? But what have I done?
"Rui... you're awake?" Another voice said.
Rui finally sat up, meeting the eyes of about four people. Three girls, and one boy. A boy who caught his eye for far too long.
"Where... am I?" Rui muttered, his throat dry and scratchy.
"Rui take this!" The boy said, he was surprisingly loud, handing him a glass of water.
"Thank you..." Rui quietly said before drinking the water, "as I was saying before, where am I?"
A girl with purple hair tied in a ponytail stood up and walked to to Rui's right-hand side, opposite of the loud boy. She had a scar on her left eye, that same eye was pure white. The tips of all her fingers were black, even her nails. The top of her hair was less saturated compared to the bottom. The most eye catching thing about her was that she looked devoid of all emotion, similar to that of a doll.
"You're in the hospital." The girl said.
"Really?" Rui tilted his head in confusion, "What for?"
"You were in an accident-" She muttered, " I was there along with some other people. You and another person, Mizuki, were in the hospital the longest, because you both were in comas."
"A coma? For how long?" It seemed Rui was getting more curious on the matter, it's not everyday someone going into a coma after all.
"You've been here for about 2 months" she said, "Though you may be discharged soon, due to waking up."
"Speaking of him waking," a girl with messy grey hair said quietly, "shouldnt we call in a doctor because he woke up?"
"Ah, that'd be wise.." the purple haired girl said,"But before that, Rui, do you know who we are?"
He stared long and hard at them... yet... he couldn't remember a single thing...
Who were these people to me?
And...what did I used to think of them?
“Rui?” The purple haired girl said again.
“Ah... I don’t,” Rui muttered, “I don’t remember...”
Rui looked up to see the sad expressions of the people surrounding him.
But seeing the boy to his left, wear the saddest expression of them all... truly hurt.
"Its ok Rui." The purple haired girl said, "You did hit your head pretty hard."
"Ah, that is how most cases of Amnesia start," Rui chuckled, "but even so, could you guys tell me who you are?"
"But of course!" The loud boy started, "If we are to introduce ourselves, a star like me shall go first!"
"Hehe, by all means, go ahead and introduce yourself."
"Ahem, I am Tsukasa Tenma! Tenma as in Pegasus! Tsukasa as in-"
"I think thats enough of that for now." The grey haired girl said, "Whatever, I'm Nene Kunasagi, we used to be childhood friends, we were also neighbors." It's sad to think we'll have to relive all those memories. Nene thought, but never ended up saying her thoughts, like she has many times before.
"Oh oh! Me next!" A girl with sparkly pink eyes and hair to match, and slightly tanned skin exclaimed, "I am Emu Otori! Emu is meaning... SMILE!"
She seemed so energetic and so full of emotion, yet she seemed so sad at the same time, similar to everyone in that very room.
knock knock.
"Ah hello..." a nurse said opening the door "I'm afraid visiting hours are over."
"Oh apologies miss," The purple haired girl said "we'll be on our way. It seems Rui has woken up but he does have amnesia."
With that, the trio walked out the door. Though at that moment Rui realized that he had forgotten to get the purple haired girls name, but some things stay mysteries forever.
