Baby turtle

Summary:

Two years ago. Liliana met a turtle. Two years ago, her life changed.

Liliana wasn't expecting to meet a ninja turtle down in the dumps on her roof that day. But she wouldn't deny she would do it again if Liliana had the chance. She invited him in and learned about him, chatted, and cheered him up as the two of them ate leftover pizza and drank from her 'feel better' stash. The night ended with the two of them in bed, with the turtle promising to come back to visit, only for New York to be attacked and he never getting the chance.

Two years later, Liliana held her son and is on the hunt for her turtle midnight escapee. Before his father's enemies find her.

Notes:

Hi! Welcome to this. I have zero clue what I'm doing here. I've honestly just gotten back into TMNT in the past month or so and so I am making it everyone's problem.

I'm going to try to keep a schedule of this every other week. Will likely change but for now, that's what I want to do.

This is probably going to bounce around a lot of different events in the show. I am currently rewatching the show as I write this so if I see something I want to add, it might get added.

Chapter Text

She was silent as she climbed the fire escape on the side of her building, knowing where each and every creak would happen. Years of practice made Liliana's steps light, years of having to sneak and hide from her parents and their arguments that would keep her up to the early hours of the morning.

She shook her head, clearing the memories of the past, having moved out years ago to escape it all. Liliana was twenty-one, living alone in New York in a small apartment that she was lucky to get for cheap.

Liliana climbed to the roof, startled to see someone else already there. The darkness hid most of their form, but from what she could tell they weren't human. Fear swept through Liliana, remembering what had happened with mutants years prior. Her foot slipped, making a barely audible thud on the roof as she shifted back, causing the mutant to tense up and look over at her quickly.

The fear swept away as Liliana noticed the slight tears in its eyes as it looked at her, tense and seemingly ready to bolt.

"Hey. Are you okay?" The words spilled from her mouth before Liliana even realized it, looking at them. A shell rested on the mutant's back, a turtle mutant her brain supplied. Soft brown eyes, hidden behind a purple mask, glistened with tears and stared at Liliana as if surprised she didn't scream.

It seemed to think about it before shaking its head, turning away from her to continue to stare at the city lights.

Despite her better judgment, she moved over and sat on the ledge by them, giving the mutant space.

They seemed surprised but didn't say a word, legs curled to their chest as they stared out at the city. Silence surrounded the two of them, as she stared at the twinkling lights, the wind blowing around her slightly.

“The view here really is something huh?” Liliana commented aloud, smiling as she gazed at it. This was her favorite thing to do to relax after a long day, the quiet compared to the city below was hard to pass up and she could easily collect her thoughts up here.

The turtle mutant beside her shifted, before looking at Liliana and seeming to muster up a small smile. “Yea, it is.” They mumbled, voice distinctly male.

Liliana smiled back, glad to have gotten him to talk. He didn’t seem anything like the mutants from a few years back. “I’m Liliana. Glad that you enjoy the view up here too.” She told him, making him chuckle softly.

“Donatello but everyone usually calls me Donnie. Sorry for interrupting your possible alone time, I didn’t hear you come up.” He, Donnie, told her, making Liliana let out a soft laugh.

“Don’t be, I walk light and know every creak and groan on that fire escape by now. Practice makes perfect.” She told him with a soft smile, making him chuckle.

“You’d make a good ninja.” He commented, making Liliana actually laugh with a shake of her head.

“Oh god no, I may walk light but I’m also clumsy enough to trip over air.” She told him with a laugh, making him chuckle.

“I doubt that you can be any worse than my brother Mikey. He knocked a gargoyle off a building when he was supposed to be on surveillance.” He told her, making the both of them laugh at the mental image.

She grin at him, glad that she got him to stop seeming so sad. “So, you’re a ninja turtle then?” Liliana asked, curiosity getting the better of her. He seemed to hesitate before nodding, making her jump up excitedly and startle him. “That’s so cool!”

Donnie looked at her surprised, emotions swirling behind his brown eyes. “You’re not scared of me?” He asked, shocked.

She shook her head, grinning at him. “Nah, you seem like too much of a dork to be scared of.” She told him, giggling at the pout he sent her way at her words.

Another gust of wind blew past the two of them, and Liliana looked at him before deciding. “Say, I know we don’t know each other, but it's getting pretty cold out here and you look like you need to relax, wanna come down to my apartment for drinks?” She offered, making his eyes widen.

“What would your family think if they saw me though? Are you sure that’s alright?” He asked, standing up, making her realize just how tall this turtle was. He was easily a head taller than her, making Liliana have to look up at him.

“I live alone and yeah I offered it didn’t I? You look like you need it.” Liliana told him, heading for the fire escape and motioning him to follow, which he did. The two of them scaled down the fire escape to her apartment silently, Liliana opening the window and slipping inside, letting him do the same behind her.

Liliana's small one-bedroom apartment wasn’t much, but it was home and the rent wasn’t bad, she led him to her measly living room as she headed to the kitchen and pulled out a bottle of rum she had been saving for a rainy day. It seemed like a good thing to help the turtle in her living room relax and take his mind off what was bothering him. She gripped the bottle, going and grabbing two cups and some ice, pouring both of them a glass before heading back to her living room with them in hand, the bottle under Liliana's arm.

Donnie had sat gingerly on her couch, glancing around and seeming very nervous. His eyes shot to Liliana as she smiled and handed him the glass, sipping on her own, “Sorry if you don’t like rum, it's all I got other than water and some soda.” She told him, making Donnie shake his head.

“It’s alright.” He told her before downing the entire glass, making her giggle as she sat beside him on the couch, setting down the bottle and letting him pour his own glass.

The rest of the night the two of them drank, talked and got to know each other. Liliana ended up telling him all about how her parents were both narcissistic assholes that made her run to the big city as soon as she could, he told her that he had been upset that night because the girl he had been crushing on for the past six years with mix signals from her that never let him get rid of that crush finally told him she wasn’t interested. He wouldn’t have taken so harshly if it wasn’t that his brothers had also heard and kept trying to ‘give him space’. Their stares and looks whenever were getting on his nerves whenever he walked into a room until he had enough and yelled at them all and left for the rest of the night.

“What??? I’m more shocked that she let you down. You seem like an awesome guy! Err turtle.” She told him, words slurring as the alcohol had started to hit them both about two glasses ago. The two of them had finished the bottle and were chatting, the buzz relaxing them.

Donnie huffed, a blush covering his face from the alcohol. It was interesting to note that he blushed red like a human. “I just wish my brothers wouldn’t rub it in like that! Like seriously I should’ve known I didn’t have a chance she’s a human and I’m just a turtle!” He told her, huffing annoyed as Liliana giggled softly, gently placing a hand on his chest to stop his rant.

“I dunno seems like a stupid thing to care about. I think she just missed out.” She flirted, making his blush darken as he stared at her, wide eye. With liquid courage flowing through Liliana's veins, she leaned up and pressed a soft kiss against his lips, able to note that his skin wasn’t scaly, but actually quite smooth.

Donnie froze, and she started to pull away, hoping she didn’t cross a boundary. That thought was thrown away when he grabbed Liliana and pulled her into his lap, slamming his lips into her and kissing her almost feverishly.

Liliana let out a gasp, feeling his tongue sweep across Liliana's lips as she kissed back, wrapping her arms around his neck, both of them seemingly forgetting the world around them.

The night seem to only go further from there and when Liliana invited him to her room for the night, Donnie seemed only too happy to pick her up and carry her there, his hands roaming her body as Liliana happily felt his muscles from years of training.

The night ended with both of them chasing the pleasure and feeling of being wanted together, and Liliana couldn’t deny that she would do it again if sober.

{The Next Morning}

Liliana woke up, slightly sore and pleasantly fucked as she noticed a note beside her bedside, along with a plate of eggs and toast. She blinks, sitting up and taking the note, reading it to herself.

“Thank you for last night and hearing me out, hopefully, we can cross paths again Liliana. - D”

She smiled, setting the note down and eating the plate of eggs, noticing they were slightly burnt but that only made her giggle, thinking of how the turtle mutant went through the trouble to make her breakfast in bed before leaving. Liliana hoped to see him again someday.

A month later, that thought doubled when Liliana looked at the positive pregnancy test in hand, wondering just how much her world was about to change.
