Work Text:

Needy found Jennifer in the teachers' bathroom.

She went straight there after noticing that Jennifer was no longer in the gym where the prom was taking place, knowing her friend wouldn't cry in the girls' bathroom where the others could hear her.

So Jennifer wasn't Prom Queen, which hadn't been all that surprising because yes she was a cheerleader and certainly the prettiest girl in school, but she was also kind of an asshole and most people didn't  had a lot of patience for that.

They didn't know there was a sweeter side hidden behind the sarcasm and malice. Not as Needy knew.

In the bathroom there was only one cabin with someone inside.

“Jennifer?”

"What are you doing here? Can't a girl pee in peace anymore?”

"I can leave you alone if you want."

After a few seconds of silence Jennifer said:

"No, if you're already here, you can stay."

"Alright…I voted for you if that counts for anything."

Jennifer opened the bathroom stall door and said:

“You're my best friend, you had to vote for me…and you know who cares who won a stupid plastic crown? The only thing that matters is that soon we're going to leave this town and never see any of these idiots again."

Jennifer went in front of the mirror.

And if she was crying before Needy arrived, the tears were gone by that point.

"Give me some of your lip gloss, I need to touch up my makeup."

Needy went to get some from her bag. But then Jennifer cupped his face and brought his lips to hers.

"So, how do I look?" Jennifer said after the kiss ended.

"Perfect."
