Izuku did a big yawn as he stretched, his green scales rose a bit like cats fur before he settled in the feathers he used as a bed for the past few months, papa always wanted him to sleep under his large claws or under his wings but he wanted to sleep on top of the soft feather mama had
Plus the breeze and light were nice, when he hid under–anything really it got really dark and hot
Izuku knew it was his instincts talking, hatchlings are supposed to hide under their parent's bodies like a penguin does under their legs
But after much begging, he was allowed to stay on a specific part of hizashis dragon body and the moment they saw him anywhere but there he would be forced to sleep in his original place until he was deemed old enough to go back to sleeping outside
Which would be in around..1000 years later
Just the thought made him chirp in stubbornness
Most hatchlings only need 300 years to be considered old enough to fly and sleep near their parents but he knew his parents are too strict for that
The chirp made the black large dragon suddenly raise his head in worry for the kit, he nudged izuku as ‘are you okay? Did you have a nightmare? Are you hungry?’
Izuku acts shy as he was be nuzzled and nibbled over by his dad
He /was/ hungry though, now that he thought about it...
Izuku gave him a special type of chirp that meant he was hungry and instantly the large dragon stood on all four and stretched as well
Hizashi shifted a bit at all the rustling and sounds, although he was partially deaf he could still feel the vibrations
‘Food’ Aizawa said through the links, the white feathery dragon chuffed as Aizawa flew outside the cave
‘Listener’ hizashi called, again, everything was through the link
‘Yes mama?’ izuku asked
‘Come here, I can't reach you by you being on my back’
Izuku stumped his tail
‘No! You're going to lay back down and trap me under your chin’
‘I would never!’ hizashi laughs but izuku knew it wasn't a question but an order
Aizawa was gone and hizashi can't see him so his instincts are telling him that he has to see izuku /now/
The kit huffed and walked up to hizashis body till he reached the large dragons head
‘Do you need help?’ the dragon asked, already lowering his head to make it easier for izuku to climb down into the ground
‘No! I have wings!’ izuku whined, not wanting to be babied too much
‘Alright alright, you can get down on your own then’ hizashi said, but izuku still saw his large claw move near him..just in case
But again, izuku was only about 6 feet off the ground even if hizashi had his head lowered
But izuku is a big boy!
His very tiny wings started flapping as he jumped off until he hit the ground
His wings were still too small for his body which left him breathless
‘S-see?!’ izuku chirped which earned him tons of nibbles from hizashi
‘Good job! I'm so proud of you!’ hizashi said and izuku smiled
But his smile died out when mama put his large head on top of izukus body and to hide him even further he used his two front claws to act like a barrier
‘Nooo’
‘Yes’ hizashi said as he closed his eyes
‘Papa heeelp’ he said through the link
‘Listen to your dam’ is all he said back
He can't blame his parents for being too overprotective...
They're not his parents really, his dam was named inko and his sire was Hisashi..papa and mama also had their own eggs ready to hatch but after a war with some humans they destroyed a lot of dragons' nests, including theirs
Izuku was the only one barely alive from his brother and sisters and mama and papa took him in, knowing izuku would be far too weak from then on to keep up with actual dragons
So now izuku can't take two steps forward without always being looked at or at arms reach, and although he complains about it he understands they can't help it
There was a loud thud with a strong wist of air, but izuku instantly knew it was papa with breakfast. Hizashi lifted his head to greet his mate only for izuku to try to sneak out to run to Aizawa but he was instantly nipped by his wings and lifted up
‘What did we say about stepping out of the cave baby?’
‘I wanted to greet papa!’
‘He will come to us, you stay where I left you, okay?’
Izuku huffed before nodding and placed back down, where he stood patiently for the food to be cut into small pieces since his teeth are still too small to eat meat from the animals
Once he was full he burped which tripped him acting shy when the two laughed at him and he hid under hizashis body to take his nap
It wasn't his fault mama was fluffy and flying took a large toll on him! And maybe he wanted a bit of darkness to sleep
