John sat in a chair next to Sherlock's hospital bed. He read as he took surreptitious peeks at the pallid consulting detective. He wanted to consult with Sherlock's physician. It was his opinion that Sherlock was far too pale.
"John," Sherlock said, his voice weak. "Will you read to me?"
John reached over and took Sherlock's cold hand and pressed it to his lips. "This book is probably not to your taste."
"I don't care," Sherlock said, pouting. "I like listening to your voice."
John re-started his book from the beginning and began to read Mrs. Dalloway from the beginning.
