Wonderlands x Showtime, the ever popular musical troupe within Phoenix Wonderland had some very interesting members. The troupe’s leader, Tenma Tsukasa, is a very confident and eccentric person who claims to be a ‘world future star.’ He cares deeply for his younger sister, Tenma Saki, and would do anything to put a smile on her face.
There is Otori Emu, who always appears super happy and motivates the people around her with her signature phrase: “Wonderhoy!”
You have Kusanagi Nene, a timid and shy girl who often hides behind Robo-Nene, a robot programmed by Wonderlands x Showtime’s one and only director and Nene’s childhood friend, Kamishiro Rui.
Speaking of Rui, he is often perceived as a weirdo because of his strange ideas and concepts. From waterboarding people, to guilt tripping Tsukasa into giving him his lunch, he’s fairly unpredictable.
Their performances on the Wonder Stage are always amazingly executed and include the wackiest concepts known to man.
Despite their contrasting personalities however, something has been going on between Tsukasa and Nene. Or at least they think.
“Hey Emu, have you noticed Tsukasa has been a bit funny with Nene these last couple times we have rehearsed for our next show? Not to mention, Nene herself has been a bit odd lately…” Emu and Rui were behind the Wonder Stage, tidying up any props from their latest practice session. Tsukasa had gotten a message from Saki asking if he could get her some sweets on the way back. Nene wanted to grab some too, so they went together.
“I have!!! Normally, Tsukasa is all pow-pow wee!! But lately, he’s been even more pow-pow wee, almost pewpewpew sparkle!!!” Emu added her unnecessary sound effects, along with little explosion hand gestures, exaggerating the ‘pew pew pew sparkle’ ones.
“Ooh.. and Nene has been more bam-bam-pow around Tsukasa! Not as much as he is himself though!!”
“Hmm… I have noticed that too. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about though. I’ll check on Nene tonight. She gave me keys to her house when we were younger, so it’ll be easy for me to sneak in.” Rui said, his cat-like smile reaching across his face.
“I have to head home now… let me know how it goes please!!!” Emu squealed, waving her hands about as a goodbye.
He packed the rest of his trinkets and headed for his own home.

“Hey, Nene? Which of these sweets do you think my dearest Saki would like?” Tsukasa pondered whilst staring in the direction of a few different sweets, his hand on his chin.
“I think she would like… these ones” Nene picked up a colourful bag of strawberry flavoured sweets. Tsukasa gave them a good inspection before his eyes lit up.
“These will be perfect for her! Thank you, Nene! I can always count on you!” He shouted. Despite the fact they were in a public shop, he was still as loud as ever.
They headed over to the till to buy the snacks and stuff they had in hand, when Tsukasa realised he forgot his money.
“Nene… I-I forgot my money…” he sighed as he turned to face her. “It’s okay k– Tsukasa. I’ll pay.”
What was she doing.
Kusanagi Nene almost accidentally called Tenma Tsukasa kitten in a public shop.
Sure, they had met through Nightcord when Nene was going through servers asking for kitten applications when Tsukasa offered, and she just had to accept, but that was… different! (Little did they know, they would eventually be in a musical troupe together… what are the odds.)
Tsukasa, being as oblivious as ever, didn’t seem to notice, and happily allowed his band-mate-slash-Nightcord-mod to pay for his sisters snacks.
Nene didn’t live very close to Tsukasa, yet she still insisted to walk him home as to make sure he got there safely.
There really was no need, but she enjoyed spending time with him in real life, even though they would most definitely call on Nightcord in the afternoon as kitten and mod, as opposed to speaking like this as troupe leader and troupe member.
Nene waved him goodbye, and Tsukasa headed in his house to gift Saki her precious sweets.

8:30pm was always the time Tsukasa and Nene would meet up on Nightcord.
It was 8:23, and Tsukasa rushed up to his room to prepare his squeaky kitten voice. It didn’t come naturally, that high voice for someone with a rather deep voice like his was pure talent. Befitting of a future star, he says.
He turns on his computer and loads up Nightcord, while connecting his signature pink headphones with cat ears. He listened to Stella as he waited for time to pass. Tsukasa always enjoyed supporting and listening to his sister’s (and the rest of her band’s) songs, even if they did make him cry sometimes. It was not his fault their lyrics were so meaningful!
His sister had a very nice singing voice he thought, Tsukasa definitely hopes he gets more opportunities to sing with her in the future. Her voice would compliment a future star such as him!
On Nene’s end, she hurriedly logged into her computer and loaded up Nightcord as she had only just gotten home. She didn’t bother connecting her headphones as she couldn’t find them and they weren’t really essential anyways.
It was easy for her to walk home with Rui as they had always been next door neighbours, but Tsukasa’s house was a lot of effort for someone who doesn’t go outside often.
They both joined the voice chat, and got to their usual stuff.
Tsukasa put on his high pitched voice, “H-hewwo my wovewy wittle pwecious Nene! How has your day bween?” Tsukasa asked, getting into character.
Nene decided to take advantage of this. “My day has been great up until I had to leave you at your house, my little kitten ‘Kasa.” She sighed.
“Oh nwo!! Is there anyfing I can do to make you feewl better?” Tsukasa felt like the literal version of the “🥺” emoji, but this was what he signed up for years ago. He got used to it and found it quite beneficial for his acting skills.
The real reason he became a kitten was because he was broke and needed money, but there were many other things that came out of it. He got to practice acting, improve his vocal range, meet new people, and many more. It was actually all a positive job for him.
“Actually… there is one thing kitten. Could you… meow for me please?” Nene asked in her nicest tone possible. She didn’t hear the sound of her front door being unlocked, however.
Tsukasa starts meowing, and Rui enters Nene’s house to check on her. Nothing could’ve prepared Rui for this interaction.
“Hey Nene, sorry I kinda came over without as… is that Tsukasa meowing?” Rui stops in her bedroom doorway, his mouth wide open in shock.
Tenma Tsukasa. The troupe leader of Wonderlands x Showtime. Meowing. On a Nightcord call. Is he..? He can’t be.
She hurriedly muted her mic without saying a word, which meant Tsukasa continued to meow in his high pitched tone. She had to explain herself, and fast, so there was no time for other things. It would make any awkward silent moments in Rui and Nene’s conversation probably even more awkward, mind you.
“Rui- I, I can explain! I think?”
“I will need a good explanation because right now, you look like you’ve hired Tsukasa as your Nightcord kitten!” Rui shouted at her. He was never gonna recover from this.
“To put it simply… he literally is my Nightcord kitten.” She shoved her head in her hands out of embarrassment. She unmuted her mic. “Ki– Tsukasa. You can stop meowing now, Rui knows everything.”
Tsukasa quickly stopped meowing and tried his best to go back to his normal voice. “Rui?? As in… Kamishiro Rui?? The Rui in our troupe?? Oh my god how are you gonna explain yourself?” Tsukasa was also in a state of embarrassment. The director of his troupe heard him meowing on a call with Nene.
“DID YOU ALMOST CALL HIM KITTEN??” Rui was even more shocked than he was before. How had Nene managed to keep this from him?
“I’m not too sure if I want to ask… but how long has this even been going on for?” Rui still stood in the doorway to Nene’s room. He was too shocked to move.
“Hey, Rui, if I said that I knew Nene before Wonderlands x Showtime as I was her kitten…” Tsukasa said through Nene’s computer.
Rui didn’t know what to say. His best friend of 16 years was… a Nightcord mod?
“I originally came over to check on you as Emu and I thought something was a bit off, but you need more help than what I could’ve anticipated. Both of you.”
Nene didn’t quite understand. What was so bad about being a Nightcord mod? And what was bad for Tsukasa of all people being her kitten?
They both only saw positives; Tsukasa gets his acting skills and improves his range for singing, he gets paid, he gets free stuff, and Nene gets someone to play her favourite games with, even if it costs her a bit of money to buy them for him. Plus, e-dating is actually pretty fun!
“I suppose I’ll just leave you do… what ever Nightcord kittens and moderators do… not that I particularly encourage it,” Rui said, finally backing away from the door frame.
Tsukasa and Nene both said goodbye to him, and as soon as Nene heard the front door shut, she put on a serious tone.
“Tsukasa. Kitten. My pookie-bear. Rui obviously just found out you’re my Nightcord kitten. Does this mean he will tell Emu? What do we do then?” Rui would kill her for calling him pookie-bear.
“What if he tells everyone at our school?!? What if he… WHAT IF HE TELLS SAKI THATS HOW I’VE BEEN ABLE TO EARN MONEY TO BUY HER ALL OF HER PRECIOUS THINGS!??!” He yelled.
Nene was more surprised Saki didn’t know already. He was pretty loud for someone with three walls in their room.
“Our reputation would be ruined, and we would probably be bullied over it for centuries to come, but who knows? We can only pray he doesn’t actually tell anyone I suppose. We’re still dating, right?” She said. “Right. I wove you Nene! A wittle fing wike dis wouldn’t stwop my wove for you!!” Tsukasa was also back to his usual attitude. Little did they know, all of Kamiyama High School was sure to hear of this once it got told to a few people.

Mizuki told Ena, who told Akito, who told the rest of Vivid Bad SQUAD, while Kohane told Emu, who told Saki, who told all of her band, and the list goes on. It’s safe to say everyone at both schools know of Tsukasa and Nene’s strange relationship. Even if they don’t know who either of them are.
The next few days at school was sure to be a treat any time they were found within a 100-metre radius of each other.
Bonus stuff because I wanted to demonstrate how they text each other on Nightcord (I’m so sorry)

they got bullied for centuries but got married after they graduated (they invited everyone and they all bullied them the whole time but emu started crying because she found it emotional ) and rui eventually became mizukis nightcord kitten because they couldn’t afford therapy and they learned to support the act of nightcord kittens. saki was devastated about her brother being a nightcord kitten so she kicked him out of the tenma household and moved toya in instead so he didn’t need to deal with his father complaining about akito always being over and they lived happily ever after
