An excerpt from Flora of Sumeru, Vol. II.

Pārijāta (पारिजात), also commonly known as shiuli, harsingar, Rajanī-hāsa, night-blooming jasmine, or tree of sorrow, is a species of Nyctanthes shrub native to Sumeru’s tropical and sub-tropical eastern forests. Its foliage is well-known to droop come the morning as its blooming flowers open at dusk and fall at dawn.

    Summary

Alhaitham knows he has made a mistake when Kaveh sees him.

All the happiness drains from Kaveh's expression. His face bleaches. He stills. Even from a distance, Alhaitham can feel the fury emanating from him like a physical thing, reaching across the hall past the sea of people to grip Alhaitham by the heart and ask—

How dare you show up here?

I promised, Alhaitham protests in the stricken silence of his mind. We promised.

Alhaitham goes to Kaveh's graduation ceremony.

    Summary

Kaori should have died. So why? Why was she here, smiling at him, as if nothing ever happened?

“Oh god.” Ryota brought his hand to his mouth. He felt like he was going to pass out as he whispered out the words:

    “Kousei, what have you done?”

Desperation led humans to places only gods dared to cross. Ryota underestimated it all: the grief, the pain, and the yearning, until he comes face to face with what they should have left behind fifteen years ago.

    Summary

“What do you think he meant by friendly stabbing?” Viktor asks, deceptively casual as he winds a lock of his hair around his finger.

    “Sparring, probably.”

“Ah,” Viktor sighs, his disappointment loud and theatrical. “And here I thought he meant the other kind.”

Yuuri feels himself heat to the roots of his hair.

“Not here,” he snaps, hands clenching at his sides.

Viktor’s eyes sharpen, the veneer of pleasantness finally leaving his face.

“My mistake,” he says, his smile thin and icy. “You seem tired, Prince Yuuri. Let me escort you to your bedchambers.”

“Would you like that?” he asks, and Viktor’s mind goes perfectly blank.

    “What.”

“Do you want to marry me?”

Viktor licks his lips, his heart thundering in his ears.

“That’s not how you ask that question, Yuuri.”

    Summary

Victor lands in Japan on New Year's Eve. Travel time included, they've been apart for a week and a half. According to Twitter, their reunion is less 'darling, I missed you' and more 'darling, they told me you were killed in Normandy.'

There are maybe two dozen pairs of eyes on them. It's mortifying, but kind of understandable.

(Or: a travelogue of a competition season. Featuring: flight delays, detours, fumbling mutual support, and the Yuuri Katsuki Hotline.)

    Bookmarker's Notes

Victor's hands are pressed to his ears, which is not doing much of anything, but is also the most stupidly romantic thing anyone has ever done for Yuuri in his entire life. He wants to cry, it's so romantic. He wants to cry for multiple reasons.
