Work Text:
Usagi Miyamoto woke up in fear suddenly. His body felt cold but he was drenched with sweat. He got up immediately to check his heartbeat. Oh god, his heart was beating faster than he could think. Despite knowing he was alive, he felt like he was dying. To cope with his dismayed thoughts, Usagi would train by himself. He grabbed his sword and went to the training course's central area.
Usagi tried to swing his sword in a particular movement but quickly grew tired. He felt warm tears quietly stream down his face. He cursed himself for not being strong enough to overcome his episode. With only training for a few minutes, Usagi’s breath became shallow and soon collapsed. Thoughts began flooding his brain.
“...What is this feeling?”
“...Can’t breathe…”
“...I can’t breathe.”
“...I feel like I’m dying…”
“...I don’t want to die…”
“...Please, someone help me-”
“Usagi?”
A familiar voice rang in Usagi’s mind. He slowly lifted his head to Leonardo Hamato, who was peeking from outside of his room. “Leonardo..! I-I’m so sorry I… gnk!” Usagi tried to stand up but fell once again. Seeing this, Leonardo rushed to the rabbit and held him close. “Hey… It’s going to be okay Usagi-san. Just breathe. Breathe for me okay?” Leonardo advised calmly. Usagi did what Leo said and took slow, deep breaths. Despite now having steady breathing, he still felt extremely anxious. Leonardo noticed this and rested his hand on Usagi’s cheek, his thumb caressing the rabbit’s white fur. “I’ll make some tea to calm down your nerves. Would that be okay?” Leonardo asked. Usagi nodded and mumble a ‘yes’.
Leonardo took Usagi to the kotatsu and sat him down. He then went to the kitchen and sturred some tea for himself and his lover. Usagi watched Leo quietly as he was comforted by the warm atmosphere around him. He looked down at the blanket that was covering his lower body and stared at the star-like designs. He didn’t even see Leo bring him his tea until he mentioned that the tea was prepared. He thanked Leonardo and sipped his milk tea.
“Hm, I think what you experienced was a panic attack,” Leo explained. “They can either be triggered or unexpected. In your case, your panic attack was unexpected.” “I see…” Usagi mumbled quietly, drawing little details on the cup with his index finger. Leonardo watched him for a while before speaking up again. “Did the tea help at all?” “Mhm. The tea was lovely. However, my body still feels a little tense.” Usagi then felt Leonardo’s hand on top of his. “What matters is that you’re better now Usagi-san. Here.” Leo then got up and sat where Usagi was. He wrapped his arms around the rabbit’s waist, resting his chin on Usagi’s shoulder, making him giggle.
“Ah, a simple emberace Leonardo-san?” Usagi teased. “Not just any embrace. Hold still for me now would ya’?” Leonardo removed his bandana and tied it around Usagi’s wrist. Usagi reacted quickly and tried to fight back. “L-Leonardo?! What are you doing? What is the meaning of this?!” He yelped. “Relax Usagi. I’m not going to hurt you.” “Then what are you doing then?” “Mmm… Just some training.” Usagi became suspicious and cocked his head at Leo. “Training? What is this traiNIEee-?!”
Usagi squeaked as he felt Leonardo’s fingers dig into his sides. “Ehehehaha! Whahahat is this?!” “What do you mean? This is training Usagi! I’m massaging your muscles so that you’ll be less tense.” Leonardo answered calmly. “Nahahahao! Thihihis ihihis nahahat training!” “Yes it is. Tickling can count as a coping skill and training method. Have you ever been tickled before?” Usagi replied with another fit of laughter and shook his head. Leonardo was in awe of his answer. “Is that so? In that case, you wouldn’t mind if I continued hm?” “Yehehehes! This overwhelming sensahahation..! Ah! Waitwaitwait! Nahahahat there!”
“What do you mean dear? Do you mean here? Or what about here?” Leonardo teased, continuously darting his fingers against Usagi’s sensitive fur. “Ahahahehe! Stahahahap! Leo!” Usagi squealed, desperately trying to escape the turtle’s grasp. He then gasped and scrunched his nose as he felt Leo’s cold fingers underneath his kimono shirt, his fingers scribbled against Usagi’s soft tummy, occasionally pinching his hipbone. Leonardo then grazed his teeth against Usagi’s neck, making Usagi snort with laughter.
“Nahahao! Lehehonardo-san plehehease(snort)! It’s too muhuhuch!” Usagi had tears trickling down his eyes from laughing so much. Leonardo couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. Usagi was usually very calm and collected, but hearing his bubbly giggles and snorts was very contagious. Leonardo could just eat him up. But eventually(and unfortunately), Leonardo showed mercy on the poor rabbit, and Usagi's breathing became steady again.
“Did I go too far, love?” Leonardo asked, kissing Usagi’s neck gently. “Hehehe… Not at all. I like to thank you Leonardo-san. That training session helped me.” Usagi turned himself around and kissed Leo’s cheek.
“However, I will get my revenge on you later.” His gentle smile turned into a sneer, but Leonardo didn’t seem intimidated at all. “Big words for someone still tied up.” He squeezed Usagi’s right side, causing the rabbit to giggle and squirmed against his touch. Hmm, perhaps Usagi did like this new sensation.
