Chapter Text

Yuki couldn’t hear anything over the ringing in his ears. His eyes wouldn’t leave Momo’s bloodied face, they were stuck on how twisted his expression was. The daze remained no matter how frantic everyone else surrounding them was, his knees protested in pain from their position, but he wouldn’t budge.

Everything was fine five minutes ago, rehearsal with IDOLISH7 was moving along steadily, Momo was his usual excitable self. But unbeknownst to them, parts of the stage scenery were on the brink of collapse. By the time it happened, it was too late. The first to go was the platform Momo was on, it crumbled beneath his feet and he fell from nearly 10 feet, in a rough position on top of some broken wood. In a panic Yuki had rushed towards his partner, falling to his knees. But upon hearing the wailing of his partner, everything stopped.

Yuki was pulled back to five years ago, the blood on Banri’s head, the cries of the crowd. His hot tears and panic over his partner’s body. He looked back down at Momo as the world flashed back and forth between the past and now. Yuki couldn’t take it, he tried to keep himself together but the world was crumbling around. His breath hitched, tears dropped down his face, he shakily reached towards the pained Momo. “MOMO…!”

Momo looked up at Yuki with scared eyes, pleading to his partner with he didn’t know what. His partner fell unconscious a few seconds later, only worsening Yuki’s fear. Suddenly, a set of hands gripped his shoulders and pulled him away from the scene. The world woke up around him, and he was brought back. He looked back to see Yamato was holding him back. His kouhai tried to tell him something, but Yuki couldn’t hear him over all the screaming. It only took a moment for him to realize that screaming was his own.

A few stage workers and the on hand medical staff had spread out, majority were carefully extracting Momo from the wreckage. Yuki tried to push himself free of Yamato’s grip, but it was no use he was too weak. He could watch in terror as Momo was whisked away. “Senpai, calm down!”

Yuki didn’t listen to Yamato’s pleas, he only got more anxious and rampant. Okazaki, their manager, tried to approach but to no avail, Yuki didn’t even acknowledge his presence. For a few minutes he kept trying, Tamaki had to get involved, as so few people were able to get near Yuki at this point.

By the time Momo was finally secure and whisked away to an ambulance with Okarin following, Yuki’s throat was in agony. He couldn’t even scream anymore. He tightly gripped Yamato and Tamaki’s arms, crying harshly, Yuki couldn’t breathe. His eyes shut tight as he tried to calm himself but it was too much, his brain wouldn’t slow down. Just then a pair of cold hands gripped his face in their touch, Yuki’s eyes forced themselves open only to be met with a familiar blue gaze. “Yuki!”

Banri was looking at him with a stern but worried expression, the sight before him instantly silenced the frantic man. Banri gave a relieved smile in return, “Can you see me clearly?”

Yuki nodded slowly in response, although it seemed he was just seconds away from breaking down into another panic. Banri didn’t loosen his grip just in case, “Momo will get the help he needs, but you need to be strong for him too.” Banri uttered those words in an encouraging manner.

After a few moments Yuki brought his hands up to Ban’s pulling them from his face, giving a hesitant nod to his former partner. Yamato and Tamaki, who had been holding onto their senpai the whole time, finally let Yuki free.

Which turned out to be a terrible idea, Yuki’s legs instantly turned to jelly as he tumbled forward. Tamaki attempted to pick Yuki back up but just barely missed. Thankfully Banri caught him with ease, gently patting Yuki’s back.

Ban looked at the panicking staff and the tense IDOLiSH7 members, everyone was on edge. The Mezzo manager himself was feeling very anxious but had to be strong for everyone around him. It would be wise to start getting his idols situated into transportation. He turned to a frantic Tsumugi who instantly caught his gaze on her. As if knowing what to do in response, a determined yet grim look appeared on her face, giving a nod in response and briskly running in the direction of the exit. Now that the van was settled, he turned his attention back to Yamato, “Yamato could you round up the boys and take them to the van?”

He knew the leader would be the most mentally stable at the moment, and the next best choice to take care of things due to Ban himself being occupied with something much more fragile. Yamato didn’t say anything to him only looking at Tamaki a moment, seeing the young teen’s face, it was close to tears. With new resolve, Yamato clapped his hands loudly to the group.

Banri sighed in relief, finally giving Yuki attention. He straightened the younger man and tried to meet his gaze, Yuki averted eye contact. Banri squeezed his shoulder in reassurance, “It will be okay.”

Yuki didn’t give him a response, yet Banri continued, “I will drive you.”

Yuki looked at him instantly when those words met his ears, he looked desperate, almost enough to make Ban lose his own barely together composure. Without another word, he guided Yuki to the direction of his vehicle.

Once to the car, he helped Yuki get into the passenger seat. Ban looked over to Tsumugi’s van, seeing everyone in IDOLISH7 accounted for. Banri gave a satisfied smile, feeling slightly at ease for a moment. He would have to check in with MEZZO and the other later. The former idol got into the driver seat and looked to Yuki. He gave his friend one more reassuring squeeze on his knee, trying to calm him even just a little bit. “It’ll be okay, I promise.”

Banri started the ignition, backed out of the spot and drove. Off they went, to the hospital….
