Chapter Text
He’s had seizures since he was a baby. He got it from his dad. Before his father left he saw his father have one. He saw his mother frantically run around trying to get his dad to stop staring off into space and to start breathing after he tried to stop drinking. He knew that his mother would pray every day. Pray that her child wouldn’t have to experience these seizures. Sadly, he did have them. He would take medication to control them.
Most of the time he would always double-check his medication. Make sure that he had enough to last him until he got it refilled.
This time he forgot. He forgot he was going with the choir to hang out in a cabin for a week. He forgot to refill his dosage.
He is so stupid stupid stupid stupid STUPID.
He was an idiot. How could he forget his medication? He set reminders on his phone! He set alarms to remind him to take it!
“Noel are you good? You’ve been rummaging through your backpack for a solid two minutes. Did you bring your medication?” “Yes Ocean, I did.”
He did bring his medication, but he only had enough to last him two days so he’ll have to make it work. He’ll just skip a couple of days. It’ll be fine.
“Medication?” Mischa finally looked away from his phone to stare at Noel. “I have-“
“Noel has seizures.”
“Ocean I could’ve told him that myself.”
Ocean didn’t say anything she just stared ahead. She began to talk to Constance about some reality tv show that he could care less about.
ding
He looked down at his phone and then at Mischa who probably had the dopest grin on his face. It made Noel feel all fuzzy and warm inside.
Do you want to help me christen that cabin моя пелюстка троянди
He had taught Mischa how to text in lowercase so it doesn’t seem like he was yelling at everyone all the time. Originally Ocean questioned it saying that Mischa was cheating on his fake fiancé with Noel since they were spending a lot of time together.
Omg gross and I hate you.
No you don’t поет
Ocean will kill us if that happened.
Also I don’t wanna do it.
Okay goodbye my beautiful Talia
Mish I am sitting right next to you
We can just talk.
I still do not want to tell them about us this town does not accept people like us

I’m pretty sure everyone in the choir will be fine with it.
I guess you are right
Can you teach me how to use the construction words
The what?

Penny didn’t like having little wifi. She liked technology. After living in a hippie commune for years she liked having a phone. When she was younger one of the kids in the commune would have seizures. The adults would try and do some random ritual to get rid of it. She witnessed his death when none of the adults noticed he wasn’t breathing. She would try and prevent these seizures, but without actual medication, they were frequent and intense. The elders said that she couldn’t leave the commune. She couldn’t leave to go to Legoland. She couldn’t help the kid. She had to witness him suffocate, unable to do anything to save him.
So when Ocean talked over Noel to say that he had seizures she began to rapidly sign to Ricky about the kid with him trying to calm her down.
She didn’t want to watch Noel have a seizure. She was glad he had his medicine, so everything will be fine.
Right?
