Mary really didn’t know how she’d gotten herself into this situation.
And yet, here she was, at the top of a snow-covered hill, seated behind her youngest sister on a sled.
“Are you ready?” Sybil asked, as gleeful as Mary was anxious.
“Darling, are you quite sure this is safe?”
“Perfectly. I’ve done it a hundred times.”
“Well, then, I suppose I’m ready.”
“Three... two... one...!”
Sybil proceeded to launch them off the side of the hill. She laughed the whole way down; Mary would have screamed, if she didn’t think she’d be sick the moment she opened her mouth.
