Work Text:
Derek sips at his triple shot vanilla oat milk latte and glares at the cheerful crowd around him in Starbucks. It’s the weekend before Christmas and he’s been chased out of his own loft by the pack. See if he ever does anything nice for them again.
Stiles: you can come back now
Derek doesn’t bother to respond. He sets his phone down on the table face up and takes another sip of his latte.
Stiles: theres pie
He does like pie. And he should really make sure his kitchen is still standing.

Derek takes a look around when he walks back through his door and growls. “What the fuck did you do to my apartment?”
Stiles pops out of the kitchen first, followed by a sheepish Isaac, and an unapologetic looking Erica, Boyd, Jackson, Scott, Allison, and Lydia. He doesn’t want to know how they all managed to fit in there.
“Derek!” Stiles says, breathy for reasons Derek also does not want to know.
“Why does it look like the Ghost of Christmas Present threw up in here?” Derek manages to grit out without shouting—barely.
“Because without us you would live a sad, colorless, un-festive life, you grinch. Come see what we made you.” Stiles heads back into the kitchen before Derek can defend himself.
All the rest of the eyes are on him now, too. Big, watery, puppy dog eyes, the lot of them, except for Jackson who’s pretending not to care.
In the kitchen, Stiles stands proudly in front of the sweet-laden counter. “We’ve got sugar cookies, gingerbread, snow balls, those weird little raspberry tarts, peppermint bark and 3 different pies. I know it looks like a lot, but you know this crowd. One of the pies is just for you, though.”
Derek crosses his arms over his chest. He doesn’t know what to say. On the one hand, everything smells amazing. On the other, if he acknowledges this with gratitude he’ll just encourage them.
While he’s still debating his response, Stiles sidles over and points up. Derek’s eyes follow and he groans. Of course they put up mistletoe, too, the horny idiots.
Stiles leans in and brushes a kiss across Derek’s cheek. “Merry Christmas, Sourwolf. Don’t be too hard on them. They put in a lot of work.”
Out in the living room, he can hear the rest of the pack arguing over which holiday movie to watch.
Derek looks at Stiles’ hopeful smile and sighs. He calls out over his shoulder, “Either put on It’s a Wonderful Life, or get the fuck out and take your decorations with you.”
The next kiss he gets from Stiles is right on the mouth, before he’s dipping around Derek and scurrying back out to the living room.
Yeah, not the worst holiday Derek’s ever had. He hides one of the pies on top of the fridge for later when they’re all gone and goes to join his pack.
