“This is my world!” Twilight said amidst a chorus of pained groans.
“Well the dirt tastes the same as everywhere else,” Legend mumbled.
“Actually, dirt has different tastes,” Wild said. Twi… would deal with that later.
“Come on! We’re right outside Ordon Village!” He pushed ahead, practically bouncing on his feet. Time laughed and helped the others up.
“Why is it so cold?” Hyrule asked, shivering. Twilight paused for a moment and sniffed.
“Smells like snow,” he said, “Guess we’re in for a storm.”
“Hold up hold up hold up. You can smell. Snow?!?” Wind asked, eyes wide open.
“Yeah?” Twilight asks, confused. Even without his hightened senses he can smell it. He’s been able to all his life. (In his opinion, the people who said there was no such smell simply hadn’t paid enough attention.)
Wind and Hyrule were looking at him with wide eyes of excitement. Warriors was watching them with a fond smile, eyes miles away.
“We’d better get going,” Time said softly, hating to break the moment but knowing that it was important to get to a shelter before the storm, and the dark, covered the world.
“It’s just down the path,” Twilight pointed out, then put on a feral grin, “Last one there is a wheel of rotten goat cheese!”
“Rancher that is disgusting!” Warriors called after him.

“Just is time, Lad!” Rusl called, pulling Twi into a bear hug.
“Shad is predicting that this is the big one for this year, we’ve been preparing for days.”
Twilight’s eyes widened in shock, and, the others couldn’t help but notice, just a little bit of excitement.
“How bad?” He asked. Rusl shrugged.
“Thinks that we’ll probably be snowed in for a bit.”
Twilight grinned.
“What does that mean?” Wind asked.
Twi’s smile widened as he began to explain the concept of snowed in and snow days and hot cocoa after being in the snow…

Hyrule blinked awake, shivering a little bit. The world seemed so bright , even though he knew it was the middle of the night, meaning it should have been dark. Sleeping in was ruled out the moment he looked around and noticed the others around him.
He slowly slipped out of his bedroll and crept to the window. Hyrule gasped, shocked to the core.
The whole world was white.
It…
It looked so fluffy…
Did he dare to touch it? Maybe this was one of those thing that the others knew to not touch… But it looked so soft…
Hyrule cast one glance back at the others, then slipped on his boots and out the door. Surely just a couple minutes couldn’t hurt…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turns out, the fluffy white stuff was cold. And wet.
Hyrule loved it.
It kept coming down from the sky, too! Big, fat flakes that he could see the designs of for a moment when they fell on his tunic. He was a bit sad they didn’t have this in his world – Dawn would’ve loved it.
Before long, he suddenly realized he had no one where he was. Turning around, he checked for footprints – but the falling flakes were quickly covering the small imprints he’d made on top of the fluff.
Oh dear. That wasn’t good. Hyrule quickly ran, trying to follow his footprints, but before long he had to give up. He couldn’t see them, and there were so, so many other divits in the fluff around him he couldn’t tell what was his footprints and what wasn’t.
And now that he’d stopped, he couldn’t help realizing exactly how cold he was.
Twilight turned again, sighing as his body once again rejecting the position he was laying in. He’d fallen asleep just fine, but then he’d woken up, and now he couldn’t get comfortable.
He popped his head up, doing a quick head count, just to soothe the voice in the back of his head.
1 2 3… 5… 7…
Hold on.
Twilight sighed and stood up, putting on the few things he’d need.
At least it wasn’t Wind who was missing. That would be an entirely new set of problems.
It was hard to track with snow on the ground, especially while it was simultaeously still falling, but Twi – Wolfie – made do. The scent of fairies and petrichor stood out from everything else in the woods at least, even if it was faint. Twi was a bit surprised at the lack of indentation in the snow, though. Surely Hyrule wasn’t that light?
Fifteen minutes later, he found out that apparently Hyrule was that light. Or there was something else going on, but either way the kid was definitely on top of the snow, not sinking into it.
He was also shivering. Badly.
Twilight shifted as soon as he got close and threw his pelt around Hyrule two seconds later.
“You okay?” He asked, checking him over.
“Just chilly,” Hyrule nodded, pulling the pelt closer to him.
“And that’s without getting your boots wet. Are your shoes enchanted or something?” Twi asked, thinking of Time’s hover boots (and shuddering at the memory). But Hyrule shook his head.
“Well. Either way, we need to get back.” Twi said, a bit relectantly. It was peaceful out here, and it had been a while since he’d had a chance to just enjoy snow.
“Why’d you leave the house, anyways?” Twi asked after a few minutes of marveling at the way Hyrule never sank deeper than an inch into the snow.
“Wanted to feel the fluff,” He answered after a moment, almost sounding embarrased.
“You mean the snow?” Twi asked, brain malfunctioning for a second.
Hyrule’s mouth opened wide.
“This is snow?” he said quietly.
“Yep,” Twi said, sticking out his tongue and catching a few snowflakes.
“Twi?” Hyrule said once the house was in view.
“Hm?” Twi asked.
“Could we maybe make a snowman?”
The question stopped Twilight in his tracks, and he looked back at Hyrule, who was looking everywhere but him.
Twi knelt down and felt the snow. He looked back at Hyrule with a grin.
“It’s wet snow.”
“Isn’t snow wet anyways?”
Twi grinned wider.
“I got a lot of teach ya. Come on, I’ll tell ya bout it while we make a snowman.”
“Twi why is there a snowman looking into the window?”
“Hm? Oh, that. No reason.”
