"You should have used the net," Kaz Brekker murmurs, gaze down and his fingers flexing tightly in his lap. Inej does her best not to look, keeping her focus on repairing herself and managing her bleeding but her gaze wanders to his hands flexing by his sides with a longing for him to reach out and bat her hands away. Dirtyhands, for all of his power, for all of his bravado, for all of his plots and plans, still hasn’t worked out that she wants him to reach out and touch her as Kaz Rietveld.
