It was a bright and sunny day around the Hollyberry Kingdom and Crunchy Chip was excited to see his best friend, Wilberry again. The thought of seeing his huge hollyberrian friend made him happy after all these years, “Can't believe that it's been so long since I've seen the big guy, I bet he's gonna be happy to see me too again!” Crunchy thought to himself whilst smiling, getting closer to the castle of the Hollyberry Kingdom.
Once Crunchy Chip entered the castle, he immediately saw a huge and tall Hollyberrian, holding a huge cup of coffee and yawning who had long pink hair and was in armor while they wore a hard chocolate glove coated in silver, with a Pink jewel at the center of the glove. It looked without a doubt, his friend Wildberry Cookie. Crunchy Chip's eyes filled with excitement as he ran towards the hollyberrian while he called out for his friend's name.
As he stood in front of Wildberry, Crunchy Chip panted, catching his breath. Oh sweet Dark Cacao why's this place so big!? Once Crunchy Chip recomposes himself, he looks up at his friend smiling as he asks "Yo big guy, remember me?" Wildberry Cookie takes a moment before shaking his head saying "You seem familiar....Do I know you?"
Crunchy Chip felt a part of him shatter into crumbs when Wildberry asked him such questions before quickly replying. "I- I...Can't tell if you're joking with me or...Not." The short cacaoian's smile quickly faded as he looked up at his friend. “I'm not.” Wildberry took a few more seconds to think about giving him another answer. “Hm, are you... Dark Choco Cookie perhaps?”
“What? He's not being serious...right? He doesn't remember...Me?” Crunchy Chip thinks to himself as he looks down, frowning a bit more as he feels a bit offended for being called someone like “Dark Choco Cookie” He sighs, opening his mouth. “N-no..! I'm not him...I- I'm Crunchy...Chip Cookie?? T..the guy you met in the Pure Vanilla Kingdom??? The guy that was carrying your gauntlet around after I thought that you got kidnapped??”
Wildberry gives a short hum, nodding and ignoring what the kid just said. Playing along with whatever the Short cookie has to say, who let a kid in here exactly? As he replies. “Ohhh yeah, You! So. How have you been?” The hollyberrian asks the short cookie. “B..betrayed. You didn't even remember me...H-heh...” C̶r̶u̶n̶c̶h̶y̶ ̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶p̶ The kid says, who's clearly disappointed.
The tall Hollyberrian sighs, he couldn't believe that a kid would be messing with him this early in the morning, he snaps. “Do I LOOK like I'm the kind of cookie who remembers cookies like you!? Besides, do you even know how many cookies come to this kingdom every day!? And you don't look important enough to me. Not to mention that you're nobody but only a stranger. And remembering the names of strangers instead of protecting this kingdom? I would rather die at the hands of the monsters inside of Beast Yeast rather than doing that.”
Crunchy Chip takes a step away from Wildberry as if the name of the Dark Cacao Kingdom was just brutally slaughtered. “B-but y..you said we w..were? I-i...?” Wildberry cuts C̶r̶u̶n̶c̶h̶y̶ ̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶p̶ the cookie child off in the middle of his sentence. “Leave kid. I don't even know you.” With those words, Crunchy felt his heart shatter as he couldn't believe what his friend, his BEST friend just told him. “B...but you said that we were...Best...Friends...?”
Crunchy Chip sighs, a few tears falling off his face before turning away from the hollyberrian before quickly running towards the doors and outside of the Hollyberry Castle while Wildberry takes a sip of his coffee “Best Friends? Right...” The hollyberrian yawns then realization hits him suddenly. “Shit.” Wildberry whispers under his breath before putting his mug of coffee and gauntlet down, running after Crunchy Chip as he felt stupid for not realizing that the damn kid he was talking to just a second ago was actually his friend!
Wildberry runs out of the Castle's doors, quickly spotting the running cacaoian as he quickly chased after him as he shouts “CRUNCHY CHIP! WAIT!” But it was no use, the Captain continued to run, while bumping and shoving some of the cookies around the Grandberry market off his path. Soon both cookies reached the dock, but instead of the chase ending there. Crunchy Chip would suddenly jump off the dock and swim towards the Berry Jungle as Wildberry shouted at him. “COME BACK HERE! LOOK- I'M SORRY OKAY!” Wildberry groaned knowing full well that shouting at the captain wouldn't work before getting into an empty ferry boat, rowing his way towards his friend.
A few minutes later, Crunchy Chip would then manage to get on the Grandberry harbor dock, quickly getting up and quickly running away after he noticed the hollyberrian was STILL following him. The chase between the two cookies would continue until Wildberry manages to corner his friend somewhere in the middle of the Berry Jungle.
After the chase, both of them were extremely exhausted, not to mention that Crunchy Chip had forced himself to his limits by risking his life by swimming through the soda lake between the Berry Jungle and the Grandberry Market. (Not to mention how quick Crunchy got tired from running a small distance earlier because of his height presumably.💀)
Crunchy pants and tries to catch his breath before turning his head towards the hollyberrian that's been chasing him for the past hour. “W..what..-” He gasps for some air “D-do you...Want..? A-aren't I just....a-” Another gasp, some coughing. “A...another..S-stranger t..to you..?-” The captain was clearly tired, as seen
“I...” Wildberry looks down, shaking his head a bit, replying. “Look, Crunchy Chip Cookie....I-i'm...So-” But before the hollyberrian could have said more, “S-SHUT- U..UP!!!” The captain shouts, he falls onto his knees as he starts coughing a lot. “L..Lea-” A cough. “-ve... Y-you don't li...-” And another cough. “Like...S-strangers....D-do you...n-not!- Ack-” And a third cough, this time some Jam landing onto Crunchy's gloved hand.
Wildberry, clearly concerned about his friend...Decided to slowly back away from him, before sighing as he knew Crunchy was too mad at him to even continue talking to him as he leaves him.
As Crunchy Chip was left by W̶i̶l̶d̶b̶e̶r̶r̶y̶ the cookie who clearly didn't care for him as he suddenly heard some leaves rustling, the captain quickly took on his battle stance before he saw a small cake hound with the collar that had a name called 'Chiffon' on it and then a cookie with a hand that didn't look like any other other appeared alongside with the cake hound.
̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶
After being shooed away from the cacaoian, Wildberry soon retraces his steps back to the hollyberry castle, remembering to put the ferry boat back to where it was, grabbing gauntlet and cup as he walked into his room where he would sit down in silence, staring at the ceiling whilst lost in sight. This went on for an hour, as he processed what had happened. He'd have to wait for the captain to forgive him, that is if he was going to.
For now, he tried to keep his stoic act when he heard somebody knock on his door, was it Crunchy Chip? Did he come back to forgive him?
In a rush, Wildberry hurried to open the door as he expected to see his friend but only to see that Hollyberry was there, concerned a bit while she had a cup of berry juice in her hand. Drinking as always, never change Hollyberry, never change.
“Dear goodness! There you are Wildberry Cookie! I was looking all over the place for you! But not to worry, It's fine, haha!” Hollyberry smiles, taking a sip of her Berry juice as he looks at his bodyguard. “What...Brings you here queen mother?” Wildberry asks, a bit surprised that Hollyberry out of all people came knocking to his room.
Hollyberry would then put his cup down by a bit, looking at her bodyguard as she smiles and asks. “I came here because Princess Cookie told me she saw you running around with that Crunchy Chip friend of yours around the Jungle, and she was wondering why you two were chasing one another like Cat puffs and cake pups around a place like that of course.”
Wildberry becomes a bit nervous but he continues his stoic act and asks. “...Oh. Did they say anything about us chasing one another around? Or anything else about Crunchy Chip for that matter?” Hollyberry shakes her head, chugging the whole cup of berry juice down. “Nope, I came here to ask you why the two of you would be doing such a thing that early in the morning.”
The bodyguard nodded his face becoming slightly pale while he felt a bit more nervous within. “Okay then.... So, to make a long story short...I may have forgotten about Crunchy Chip being my friend because of how early it was and...I was chasing him around to apologize to him but he didn't let me to...Apologize.” Hollyberry nodded, looking a bit interested in the events. “Hm...Is that so?”
He nodded in shame, feeling horrible for what he did. “I upset him so much that it managed to make him run off crying..” Hollyberry nods some more, now drinking from a bottle of berry juice...Wait where did she even get that bottle? “Well not to worry! He'll forgive you some day, you just have to give him some space. Everyone does! After such horrible things happen to them.”
“...You think so?” A small smile appears on Wildberry's face, feeling a bit less tense and worried as he relaxes a bit. “...Thank you for your words queen mother. Your words bring me a little comfort...And I just have to give Crunchy Chip the space he needs in the meantime...”
“Haha! Glad to know I can make you feel better! You just have to wait and give him some space for now, who knows? Maybe he'll go back to this Kingdom and look for you so he can forgive you.” Wildberry's smile grows a little as the mother queen says her words before Hollyberry waved goodbye..suddenly having a huge barrel of berry juice on her hands as she left her bodyguard's room, Wildberry has accepted that the queen mother will always pull something strange to drink her berry juice as he gives a small wave of goodbye in the meantime before going back into his room, closing the door and locking it as he goes on his bed, putting his hand to his head. Feeling horrible for what he did.
A few days passed, and there were no signs of Crunchy Chip. Every day that was passing seemed to make Wildberry more and more nervous… he just wanted Crunchy Chip to forgive him, but he didn’t know where he was or what he was doing… the thought that Crunchy Chip might stay away from the Hollyberry Kingdom forever was slowly beginning to become a reality, and it horrified Wildberry.
A few months pass and there were no sign still. Wildberry was going through some intense emotions, but for the most part he just felt nervous. He was anxious, and most certainly, he missed Crunchy Chip Cookie.
Soon the days turn into weeks, and then into months. Hell, maybe even years! Wildberry sat on his bed in silence, feeling nervous and anxious. He just wanted to see Crunchy Chip again just so he could apologize... But he was nowhere to be found. He’d lay down on the bed and would stare at the ceiling, his mind was filled with thoughts about Crunchy Chip, and what he might be doing… but the main question he had in his mind still remained… Where was he?
And another few months passed, not surprising that Wildberry was getting more and more anxious as each day passed. He just wanted Crunchy Chip to come back why was it taking him so long? He was even beginning to worry if Crunchy Chip was okay. What if something had happened to him? Wildberry felt a pang of fear in his heart as he thought of the possibility of Crunchy Chip never returning again, which made him even more nervous and anxious he was worried sick for Crunchy Chip.
Then a few months later, Pure Vanilla would invite both the Dark Cacao Kingdom and Hollyberry Kingdom to a reunion, just like old times before the cremé republic. Wildberry would then hear about this, and he immediately had a feeling of both excitement and nervousness. Would Crunchy Chip be there? Would he be able to say sorry to Crunchy Chip then? These questions would haunt him for the rest of the day. Wildberry felt nervous about this meeting, but he was still excited and hopeful.
Then once the day came, Hollyberry would bring her family and some few others to the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, once they arrived at Kingdom. Wildberry was just as nervous and excited as before. He just really, really hoped that Crunchy Chip was here. He’d look for Crunchy Chip as he walked around the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, but he couldn’t find him anywhere. But that was due to the Hollyberrians being the first one to arrive while the Cacaoians hadn't arrived yet.
Wildberry was disappointed none the least when he couldn’t find Crunchy Chip, but he tried his best to keep a straight face, and not let anyone else know about how nervous he was, because he knew if he let anyone know how worried he was, people may start becoming worried for him, which would be bad for someone who’s supposed to be a protector of the Hollyberry Kingdom, all he needed to do was wait a bit more so he could apologize...
And a few minutes later the people from the Dark Cacao Kingdom had arrived and Crunchy Chip was there. But he was walking alongside with someone that didn't look like a Cacaoian, hell the cookie with Crunchy Chip looked insanely different from the cacaoians!
Wildberry’s eyes would light up, and he felt a mixture of both excitement and happiness. He’d rush over to Crunchy Chip, and would smile at him, happy that he was back and in perfect condition, and would look at the person Crunchy Chip was with. But then the tall Hollyberrian would be stopped by the mysterious cookie with the un-cookie like hand.
Wildberry was taken aback slightly by that, he then took out a surprised expression, before looking down slightly, knowing this person was someone Crunchy Chip felt safe around.. “Hm, you are?” He asked the strange red-like cookie. “The name's Red Velvet Cookie. We don't need to introduce ourselves some more, Wildberry Cookie. I've heard quite a bit about you..” Red Velvet looks at Wildberry with an angered look, while Crunchy Chip gives the same stare as well towards Wildberry.
The bodyguard was surprised by the comment that the cookie going by 'red velvet' made, and decided to just accept it, although he was still curious about how someone was.. Intimidating? As Red Velvet was, would keep Crunchy Chip safe. He didn’t want to be disrespectful or anything in front of the other person, so he just had a slight smile on his face, while he stared back at the cookie with the strange hand, dear holly... That hand is just something you don't see everyday huh? “Why, good day to you, Red Velvet Cookie.” Wildberry says, trying to spark a small conversation with him.
“Don't you dare act all friendly with me here you disappointment of a 'Best Friend.' ” Red Velvet moves Crunchy Chip Cookie behind him some more while continuing to stare at Wildberry with a disgusted look
Surprisingly, The cookie made flinched a little when Red Velvet called him a disappointment… he was hurt by those words, and he didn’t want to say anything that would make Red Velvet like him less, so he kept his expression straight, and would look down a little, feeling a little guilty. “Now go away from the both of us before you upset my friend here some more.”
“Alright then...” He sighs while having a slight smile as he’d say that, he didn’t want to anger Red Velvet further. But he also wanted to apologize to Crunchy Chip, but he decided the best course of action here would be to give them some space. Even though it pained him slightly to stay away from Crunchy Chip, he would stay away... For 𝗵𝗶𝘀 sake.
Wildberry looks over at Crunchy Chip, hoping he was doing okay he knew he hurt him, but he didn’t know how to make up for it and now that Crunchy Chip was with someone who could protect him and that made Wildberry feel guilty for what he’d done, seeing the red cookie checking on the captain to see if he was fine, Crunchy Chip seems to be shaking a little, but then he stops shaking when a cake hound and Crunchy's cream wolf comfort him. Wildberry would feel a mixture of sadness and happiness as he saw how Crunchy Chip smiled. He knew how happy his friend was with Red Velvet, and part of him was happy that the two of them were together, but another part of him wished that he could have been there instead of Red Velvet, he'd sigh, feeling mixed emotions.
Wildberry would continue to watch from afar, still feeling mixed feelings. He didn’t want to disturb them.. But he wanted so badly to go over and talk to, and apologize to, Crunchy Chip. As for the captain, Wildberry would notice Crunchy Chip occasionally looks over at having a slight hint of a disgusted face whenever he looks at Wildberry and each time he would do that, Wildberry’s heart would slightly break again he wanted Crunchy Chip to forgive him so badly that he felt horrible for what he’d done, and all he wanted was to say “I’m sorry”...
Soon after, the sun would set and everyone would be inside one of the numerous tents that were set up for everyone to stay in for the next few days. Everyone was enjoying themselves while there were laughing and chattering all around the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, just like in the Hollyberry Kingdom.
As for Wildberry though, he was trying to have fun as well, trying to take his mind off of Crunchy Chip but every time he’d see Crunchy Chip, all he’d feel was sadness and guilt. As much as he wanted to go apologize, there was a part of him that was afraid to do so… he didn’t know how Crunchy Chip would react, and he wanted to apologize in a time when it was just him and Crunchy Chip.
A few hours later it was now almost midnight when everyone started to go into their tents outside the Castle, while Hollyberry, and the rest of the ancients were inside of the castle. Wildberry would spot Crunchy Chip go into one of the tents, and he’d sigh to himself, wishing he could apologize to Crunchy Chip already but instead all he could do was watch Crunchy Chip from afar. Even when he couldn't see Crunchy Chip, Wildberry would still remember the memories they made together, and the nice things Crunchy Chip said to him and just the thought of that made Wildberry feel even more guilty.
Maybe it was too late to apologize, seeing the way Crunchy Chip looked at him back when he was talking to Red Velvet earlier in the day. Wildberry let out yet another sigh, he was beginning to think there was no way that Crunchy Chip would forgive him… it hurt Wildberry deeply to think that Crunchy Chip didn’t like him anymore but he knew it was all his fault, he was the one who hurt Crunchy Chip. And all he could do is hope that Crunchy Chip would forgive him. But that won't happen despite how much Wildberry hoped it would happen.
Wildberry slowly stood up, walking to the edge of the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, he looked down and for the first time in a long time, he felt a strange feeling of dread and sadness but he also felt a feeling of loneliness, so much so that he wanted to break down crying. He’d take a deep breath and close his eyes, trying to fight back tears.
